Apparently this was unveiled during the same rally where Palin suggested that waterboarding was just the way we baptize terrorists.
Here is more from the You Tube page:
At the NRA's annual convention on Saturday, Wayne LaPierre unveiled a new ad the group is planning to air on TV and boy, is it a doozy. The ad is very evocative of a movie trailer for some inspirational drama, complete with b-roll of average Americans and sweeping, dramatic music to convey a simple message: it's us against the world now. Who's with the good guys?
The people featured in the ad declare things like "You are surrounded by a world where mad men are famous and good ones forgotten" and "'The good guys are a lie,' they laugh. Everyone's corrupted." It stakes out a clear position that there are "good guys" in the world fighting against the "hypocrites, chameleons, bullies, and yes-men."
After showing the ad, LaPierre declares, "Ours is a national movement. Right now it's sweeping the country in homes, in churches, in coffee houses, in PTA meetings."
Yes it is the good guys versus the bad guys.
And clearly the good guys would be the ones brandishing firearms and advocating an armed response to the policies of the federal government.
WOLVERIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiines!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteand.... um....
BENGHAZI!!!!!!, also too.

I don’t know what to say about these people, but they mostly kill family members. Mother Nature is culling the species? She works that way sometimes.
ReplyDeleteAnd, isn't this sedition?
It's amazing that there are only 5 million NRA members. And far fewer than that number who are the rabid, all or nothing, flag waving, publicly packing, "pried from my cold dead hands" crazies.
ReplyDeleteYet they continue to terrify candidates and elected officials into supporting them or else. You would think that their membership was 100 times that for all of the power and fear they wield over public officials.
There are at least 310 million of us who are NOT members of the NRA. It's time we stand up to the bullies. I want MY country back. FU Wayne LaPierre.

And there are many former members who look at what the organization has turned into and shake their heads- my father is one of them. He's still fiscally conservative, but has voted dem in the last two national/presidential elections because he's become more socially liberal and the republicans have let the right wing take over.
DeleteLets hope the Palin curse works loud and clear and takes them down with a plop.

What I find fascinating is their happy conviction that only people like themselves are or will be gun owners. Their addled brains seems incapable of entertaining the idea that those hated lily-livered liberals might arm themselves, they are so deeply entrenched in their stereotypical thinking.
ReplyDeleteNational Retard Association
ReplyDeleteIs Sarah Palin the president of the National Retard Association
DeleteShe was, but she quit after one meeting.
DeleteThe good guys are the ones terrorizing small children at Little League games.
ReplyDeletebrandishing and threatening with guns is a good republican value.

Damn, and I was thinking Wayne would break out in Helen Reddy's "You and Me Against The World" in his camo tutu and patriotic flag pumps.
ReplyDeleteWhy do gun "accidents" happen to kids of good guys?
