New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie got into a spat with a baseball fan at a game in Milwaukee on Sunday, his latest public relations snafu to cap a month of snafus. 

In a video posted to Twitter, Christie is seen leaning over a fan who heckled him, angrily calling the man a “big shot” before storming away with a bowl of nachos.

A local news reporter for the station WISN12, Ben Hutchison, said he was a relative of the man Christie confronted, Brad Joseph. Joseph told the outlet he yelled the governor’s name “and told him that he sucked,” which sparked the encounter. 

“I called him a hypocrite because I thought it needed to be said. He turned around back towards me and got in my face for what seemed like a long time, but was probably only about 30 seconds or a minute. (He) was yelling at me. First he told me, ‘Why don’t you have another beer?’ which I thought was a decent come back, and I thought that was kind of funny. Then he started calling me a tough guy.”

Speaking of "tough guy" I wonder how tough Christie would be without all of that Secret Service protection? 

Besides what is the governor with the lowest approval rating in the country so mad about?

All the guy did was tell the truth.

Oh that's right, these GOP thugs are allergic to anything resembling the truth.

I woke up to this breaking news but I thought I would hold off posting about it until we had more information to work with.

What we do know is that a single man open fired with an automatic or semi-automatic rifle of some kind, during practice for a charity baseball game between the Washington Republicans and Democrats.

This particular practice field was being used by the Republicans.

House Whip Steve Scalise appears to be the only Republican lawmaker wounded, he was hit in the hip, though there are at least five wounded. One of whom may in fact be the gunman.

There were no fatalities. (Update: Well the gunman died, so that makes one.)

Officials described a scene of chaos and of players taking cover wherever they could on the field. 

Rep. Mike Bishop from Michigan said the gunman was standing outside the fence line behind third base aiming for the field’s only exit. 

"If not for the detail who stepped up with basic revolvers, we would’ve all been dead,” he said, referring to members of the security team. He said he “Army-crawled” his way to taller grass and tried to reach the dugout, but bullets were hitting the dugout as well. 

“Ting, ting, ting, ting,” he said, describing the noise. “He was hunting us at that point. There was so much gunfire, you couldn’t get up and run. Pop, pop, pop, pop — it’s a sound I’ll never forget.”

The detail that Rep. Bishop is referring to is apparently the security staff that follows House Whip Steve Scalise around.

The gunman has been described as a white man with dark hair. (Update: Here he is.)

So of course in Trump's America that means this will not be considered a terrorist attack. (Though Hodgkinson is being described as a Bernie Sanders supporter so that still might be an option for the Right Wing news outlets.)

There are reports that the gunman asked if it were Democrats or Republicans on the field but this does seem to be accurate.

There is always a lot of confusion in the aftermath of these shootings, and invariably false information gets passed around.

Democratic leaders are already condemning this cowardly attack, which is good because knowing the Republicans this is definitely going to be spun as a political act from the Left.

What is not false however is that the folks targeted in this shooting want every person in America to have access to a firearm.  And I guarantee that will not change as a result of this event.

By the way Massachusetts city became the latest municipality around the country to call for an impeachment investigation into the Trump presidency.

Well I for one would like to welcome Chris Christie into the presidential race as the first transgendered candidate in American history.

Well then what in the hell is going on down there?

I don't know which one of Christie's staff told him that dressing like this was a good idea, but they should be fired immediately.

Former pro-baseball player Jose' Conseco shoots off finger while cleaning his freedom protecting handgun.

Las Vegas police were called to the home of former Major League Baseball outfielder Jose Canseco on Tuesday afternoon after an accidental shooting. 

Police said Canseco accidentally shot himself in the hand and was transported to University Medical Center in Las Vegas. 

Officers said he was cleaning his handgun and didn't realize it was loaded. The gun went off, badly injuring one of the fingers on his left hand. 

His fiance leila Knight spoke with KTNV-TV Channel 13 Action News on Tuesday evening, and said she was in the kitchen when she heard the shot. She told Action News that Canseco visited the gun range last week and forgot there was still a bullet left in the gun. 

It is not known if Canseco's finger had to be amputated. He was released from the hospital early Wednesday morning.

You probably all know Conseco best for his tell all book about his steroid use and rock star lifestyle.

Gee he drove a sports car, used steroids, AND carries a gun with him everywhere he goes.

Really working hard to resist the urge to state the obvious.

But hey don't forget, the only thing that stops a bad finger, is a good finger on the trigger of a gun.

Hmm, a certain Mama Grizzly seems a bit grumpy today.

So Palin posted this video of an ex-Army Sergeant throwing out the first pitch of a baseball game to her Facebook page, with the word "Hoohah!" (Which I think means vagina.)

Apparently this started some bickering among the paint chip eaters.

In response Palin then posted this:

Now for the life of me I cannot remember a time when Palin lashed out at her followers on Facebook.  And trust me they same some truly stupid shit.

Which kind of makes me wonder why Palin might be a little testier than usual today.

Man walks around children's baseball game scaring children with his gun, and it's all completely legal.

Parents at a Forysth County park abruptly stopped a children's baseball game after growing suspicions of the behavior of a man carrying a gun in a waist holster Tuesday night. 

"He's just walking around [saying] 'See my gun? Look, I got a gun and there's nothing you can do about it.' He knew he was frightening people. He knew exactly what he was doing," said parent Karen Rabb. 

Rabb told Channel 2’s Tom Regan the parents grew so alarmed that they brought the game to a halt when the man declined a request that he leave a parking lot overlooking the baseball field. 

“He scared people to the point where we stopped the game, took the kids out of the dugout and behind the dugout, and kind of hunkered down,” Rabb said. 

Park users flooded 911 with 22 calls about the man. Forysth County deputies questioned the man, and found that he had a permit for the handgun. Authorities said since the man made no verbal threats or gestures, they could neither arrest him nor ask him to leave the park. 

Another parent questioned what point the man was trying to prove. 

"Why would anyone be walking around a public park, with a lot of children and parents and people here playing baseball, and he's walking around with a gun? I don't think the parents would have been nervous had he just had the gun in his holster and was just watching the game," said parent Paris Horton.

Why would anybody be walking around a crowded baseball field and frightening people by openly carrying a gun?

Because he can. And if the NRA gets their way, there will be a whole lot more of this kid of incident too.

Welcome to the America, where gun rights take precedent over a child's right to feel safe while playing baseball.

Republicans warn professional sports leagues not to promote Obamacare.

Senate Republican leaders have sent letters warning six professional sports leagues not to provide the Obama administration any assistance in promoting Obamacare. 

The letters, dated June 27, warn the chiefs of the National Football League, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, National Hockey League, Professional Golf Association and NASCAR that partnering with the administration to publicize the benefits of the health care law would damage their reputations. 

“Given the divisiveness and persistent unpopularity of this bill, it is difficult to understand why an organization like yours would risk damaging its inclusive and apolitical brand by lending its name to its promotion,” wrote Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Minority Whip John Cornyn (R-TX). 

The letters come days after Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said she’s spoken with the NFL about potentially partnering to let people know the benefits of the Affordable Care Act ahead of the implementation of its major components. (She said there was no deal yet.) The Republican senators rattled off a slew of conservative arguments against the law, stressing polls that signal its unpopularity with the public. 

The letter also suggests the Obama administration could be threatening the pro sports leagues to extract support for Obamacare: 

"We have long been concerned by the Obama Administration’s record of using the threat of policy retaliation to solicit support for its policies or to silence its critics. Should the administration or its allies suggest that there will be any policy consequence for your decision not to participate in their outreach efforts, we urge you to resist any such pressure and to contact us immediately so that we may conduct appropriate oversight."

I am almost without words here.

It is vitally important to get the word out about the benefits of the Affordable Care Act to those who desperately need to know, and having it promoted by teams from the NFL, NHL, NBA, and MLB is a stroke of genius.

And clearly the GOP knows this, and are now actually attempting to bully these teams into refusing to help.

I literally to not have a word in my vocabulary which adequately describes my disgust with this putrid pod of pompous pissants!

If the Democrats play politics the way they play baseball the Republicans don't stand a chance!

Of course it should be pointed out that in baseballl there is an umpire to make sure that neither side cheats. 

Which places the Republicans at a distinct disadvantage.
