Sarah Palin and Jon Stewart appear in a commercial together. Please tell me this is not happening!

This is what the Wasilla Wendigo posted on her Facebook page:

If Jon Stewart and I can agree on something, it's clear that all Americans should get behind career mentorship for our returning veterans by joining ACP AdvisorNet, a nonprofit online community that connects veterans with business leaders.

And Mediaite has this quote from Stewart concerning his participation:

“Unbelievable as it may sound, I am proud to join with Sarah Palin to address this urgent need,” added Stewart. “We are united in support for ACP and the thousands of Americans who have already signed up to volunteer their time on ACP AdvisorNet. During National Volunteer Week, we hope to inspire countless others to follow suit.”

Oh god, It's real! And I wanted oh so much to believe this was fake.

Look I am not saying it is not a worthy cause, it is.

And I'm not saying that Jon Stewart does not have he right to appear in any advertisement he desires, he does.

But to participate in ANYTHING with Sarah Palin, and give her that kind of legitimacy, well that is inexcusable.

Yeah, I dunno. That's kind of like saying appearing with Bugs Bunny gives Yosemite Sam Legitimacy.

I honestly don't think it rubs off that easily.

Yeah. John Stewart (and Colbert) were the people that organized the huge Rally to Restore Sanity in DC. Is it sane to realize that where you agree with someone for a good cause, even someone as ridiculous as Sarah Palin, you should put aside your differences and do what your values tell you to do? Yes, yes it is.

I won't donate to or work for any organization that has anything to do with Sarah Palin. There are way too many good causes out there. If you want to help veterans, find a way that doesn't legitimize Sarah Palin.

Hi, Boscoe. I hope this clears it up. I didn't vote for Bush in 1988; I worked for Dukakis as a volunteer in California. Isn't that what Democrats do? They do in my house. My pt.: Stewart is not a progressive or a Democrat. He's an Independent, a media figure who answers to rightwing bosses, and he's even voted for a GOP candidate. Clear enough? I hope so!

Sorry, no. I get that he is an independent, (I think to say he's not also progressive is patently absurd) but I don't get how who he voted for in 1988 factors into anything here.

4:29 - Are you unaware who Stewart's boss is? Check out who owns Comedy Central.

4:40 - It factors in because he shows that he sometimes leans right, like other rich people. He has even admitted that he's voted for the GOP before. For example, I have never once voted for a GOP candidate for president, nor will I ever. So why is it a surprise that he appears with Sarah Palin in an ad?

@5:52 - glad you voted against Bush in '88. But Stewart shows his true social politics every day on his show: misogyny, homophobia, etc. He's also very pro-Israel. Take a look at the percentage of male to female guests on his show, or more importantly, the percentage of female employees to male. He's not my cup of tea. I support those whose values I admire, both with my attention (which advertisers count on TV) and my pocketbook.

LOL man, it sure is entertaining when someone with some sort of philosophical/political stick up their butt makes statements as though anyone but the little voices in their head have a clue what they're talking about!

So, you're going to judge Stewart based on who he voted for once and ignore EVERY damn thing he's said since and tell him he's "right wing"? Nobdy is worshipping him, but we're also not spinning off into rich, rightwing conspiracy town either.

Jon is a very smart guy who does and says what he wants. Sorry if he doesn't meet your standards for "progressive" or whatever it is you think you're smearing him for not being.

And I don't see what the link is with "his boss" either. We're not talking about faux "news" here, Jon isn't getting socio-political marching orders from that guy. Seriously, you're living in bizarro world if you think Jon is a misogynist/racist/homophobe.

Seriously, get help 'cause you're projecting all over the place.

There is nothing in that 30 second spot that makes me believe that both Sarah and John were in the same room together. They were each filmed against a plain screen. It's interesting that their voices are in a much lower register than either of them speak. (Sarah's fans were so impressed with her deep voice-over voice. It's the microphone and the audio adjustments). They each read their script and someone put it together. They are separated by enough distance and they do not interact with each other that I just do not believe that they filmed that together.

There is nothing genuine about Palin's endorsement. She has always been one to highjack morality and virtue to make up for lack thereof in an effort to paint herself as s decent human being. Moreover, if she has a neuron rattling around in that skull of hers, she'll know not to make the likes of Stewart look bad given the sheer amount of ammunition in the Comedy Central archives.

My thoughts on Palin and grifting for dollars. Lets say that the right wing of the Republican party is leaning toward shutting the toxic, word salad spewing, can't string a thought or a sentence together, Palin out of politics. In reality the bitch is barely hanging on to any credibility there now. So, where else is she supposed to get the cash to support her worthless, no talent family. She does a natural segue into Pee Wee herman celebrity status. Shit, media whore is already there. She feeds a fascination with those who are happy to watch a family more ignorant and deceitful than their own. The entertainment community seems to be accepting the side show freak with open arms. I think we are stuck with another Larry, Moe, and Curly. I don't think any relevations coming forward now will send her scurrying back to the sewer she and Todd came from. Look for her drug addled self to be showing up on more talk shows and the like. Like the herpes sore on her own lip, we might not have a cure. An infection that won't go away. I wonder if this organization understands why they shouldn't legitimize Palin's use of the military as prop. Double damn!

As far as Fallon, the higher up's at NBC use that appearance to advertise Fallon's show-- he had Sarah Palin on last week, look who he is having on this week. Ailes said that he hired Sarah because she was hot and she got ratings. That must be the same reason that Fallon's show used Sarah, too. It wasn't because she was a brilliant, trained comedian. It wasn't because she could play the flute or see Russia from her house. People still watch Palin the way that they slow down and stare at the traffic accident at the side of the road.

Here is the issue that should be brought to Jon Stewart's attention. Normally, I would pay attention to any cause that Stewart would choose to promote in a PSA. I would even contribute to and support that cause. But, it's time to let him know that by teaming up with Sarah Palin, he diminished his credibility, and I will not pay attention to the cause, and I will not donate to it. If he agreed to appear with Sarah because it would be ratings, I think that he should know that has consequences-- in this case-- no donations, no attention, I don't care what they were trying to promote. Jon has a facebook page, in fact his own page and another one for the Daily Show.

THANK you. I don't do internet rumors, and the "who will replace David Letterman" hype. I'm in bed. If either Colbert ot Stewart accept that job, they've sold ot just like all the rest have. Holy crap, CBS, hire Queen Esther! A talk show is her dream!

Exactly! I agree with you. This worthy cause will not get the full potential amount it would have gotten w/o $arah in it. Because we all KNOW that $arah NEVER does anything for free. $he most likely is skimming some amount off the top, just like $he did years ago when $he was sponsoring some type of fundraising for bets - but the majority of the funds got 'stuck' on her sticky fingers.
      The Palin curse strikes again.

Well that's a pretty sad statement about all of the Republicans and conservative talk show hosts. Not one of them was a possibility to team up with Jon Stewart. Stewart and Bill O'Reilly have a kind of a love-hate relationship, but they would have been funny together.

What's interesting is that everyone writing here is upset with Jon Stewart. Over there in Sarah's Cesspool, nobody cares. Nobody posted Sarah's facebook post about the PSA. There are only two comments. Not one person wrote, "What a great idea. I'm going to contribute to that group that Sarah is promoting." So much for Sarah's ability to raise money for any other cause than Sarah Palin.

Palin: "If Jon Stewart and I can agree on something, it's clear that all Americans should get behind career mentorship..."

    "all Americans"

Well, that leaves me out; Palin has repeatedly driven home the point that I'm un-American.

It's too bad that if Sarah Palin is involved, she lowers the level. If people are fans of Fallon, they should let him know that was a cheap trick. If people are fans of Stewart, they should let him know that Sarah turns everything into a farce.

If you watch the video again, no one is talking. Their lips don't move. Each person was given a script to record and someone put it all together, Jon over her and Sarah over there. They cut back and forth as if they were talking. Watch it again. Their lips don't move.

So when is Sarah going to begin mentoring our veterans and for which careers?

I'm a little disgusted with John Stewart right now, is he doing this just to get a rise in ratings? My guess is yes, because what a better way to increase his ratings that he had something to do with Sarah Palin. Nobody would think it. Well, I will forever boycott him on this one. And I wonder how many other sane people will boycott him if this is his choice of getting attention. He's acting desperate.

I’m a huge proponent of trade/tech schools that teach real-world employable skills that reward work ethic and integrity.

Sarah we know why you like these vocational schools. Because your children are dumbasses and can't handle high school or college. You are a multi-millionaire so stop using the excuse they are debt free because they didn't go to college.

Sarah mentioned that Bristol is going back to work at the dermatology office in Anchorage. How in the hell can someone like Bristol miss all those days going to DWTS (twice), Candy speeches going to Arizona, going to Los Angeles to do Life's a Tripp and still has a job waiting for her?

But Bristol and Willow don't seem much like the type of girls who would care to make other girls prettier....
And who will be nice to paying customers.
Bristle is now a professional pimple popper.
I don't mean t deride skin care people...they do good services for those who can afford it. But they do pop pimples. Sometimes.

  53. I haven't been too keen on jon ever since he tried to make dems look like fools by organizing the insanity rally and then did absolutely nothing with all that voting power. He left a bad taste in my mouth after that stunt. He did do one thing that was basically a gop tactic and it seemed to be the purpose of the rally, he falsely equated gops' bad behaviors onto dems. I forget exactly what it was but it was pissing bullshit and he was called out on it.

Most of the time he's on point, but like all good gop-ers they'll revert back to the cra-cra without missing a beat. They will try to rationalize their hypocrisy/craziness, just like jon is doing now.

Maybe he's pissed because Colbert got the job and he's stuck with his show and his fence. There won't be another changing of the top talk show guards for decades, and he knows this.

stinky and stewart don't go together. Altho Rev Al did do a psa with newt, I still don't get it. I guess a gop can be seen with a dem once the gop is out of office. Pathetic. Phony. WRONG!

I can't picture Nia Turner partnering up with a known enemy and doing this bullshit. Can't see it.
