Ukrainian Rabbi calls antisemitic leaflets a hoax.

Courtesy of the Jerusalem Post:

A Ukrainian rabbi whose congregation was the target of an anti-Semitic leaflet that drew global media interest and condemnation from the US government believes it was a hoax and wants to put the matter to rest.

On Monday evening, as Jews left a synagogue after a Passover service, masked men handed out fliers purported to be from pro-Russian separatists who seized the regional authority building in Donetsk and styled themselves as its government.

In an echo of the Holocaust which devastated Ukraine's Jews, it ordered all Jews to register with them or face deportation.

Denis Pushilin, head of the separatist Donetsk People's Republic, said it was a fake, presumably by supporters of the Ukrainian government, that was meant to discredit his movement.

Pinchas Vishedski, chief rabbi of the Donetsk area's 15,000 Jews, told Reuters on Saturday that while it was initially shocking, he was now satisfied it was a political hoax - "a crude provocation" - though its authorship was still unclear.

This is why you wait to get all of the information before you make some ignorant statement about something that is way above your pay grade.

You would think that a professional troll might recognize when somebody else is trolling another group hoping to cause some friction.

Man alive - aren't you glad that idiot isn't in any position of power?
Good Lord, she's like some stupid carp that snaps at any bait thrown her way.

  3. "...this is why you wait to get all the information..." Yes, indeed, so true and important.

We were out of town and I saw the headline on USA today. As soon as I read the article, I KNEW it was a hoax -- just from the wording of the leaflet. I know the focus here is the stupidity of SP's ghostwriters. BUT, there is a lesson that is larger:

Wait until you have more information before jumping on any bandwagon about ANYTHING.

    Amen.

You could tel lit was not from the government, the language was so lame, but obviously SOMEONE was trying to intimidate the Jewish population of that area. The government over there needs to find out who that is and shut them down before someone does get hurt.

Sarah Palin presents herself as the ultimate journalism major, the one who would correct the 'sorry state of the media' and who would teach us all how to do our homework. Then she shows herself to be an incompetent fool and looks worse than others who missed the hoax. She's the ultimate fool and troll, whether it's making up stuff about bracelets and gun tracking or falling for incomplete reports out of Ukraine.

It's mind-boggling that she pays 'consultants' for misinformation.

I suppose the Supreme Queen and Legend in her own mind didn't read what the Rabbi said. And she wore a Star of David all that time for nothing. Guess she thought it made her Jewish by Osmosis?
Stick with what you know, Sarah. Sofa Cushions, wigs, and fake boobs.

One more reason why intelligent people, like the President, wait until they have sufficient information and then are extremely careful about the wording of any official statements they make.

Others, like those on the right, start screaming immediately before the truth about what really happened is known, and criticize anyone who doesn't have the same knee-jerk reaction they did.
