A Georgia man who allegedly had too much to drink and then started shooting at a Memorial Day Weekend rodeo was taken out of action by a cowboy's lasso.
Celestino Moras wounded three people after he allegedly shot into a crowd with a pistol at an annual church picnic and rodeo in Bartow County.
The incident began after Moras, who was not invited to the event and showed up intoxicated, was asked to leave. Moras became agitated and started firing, causing as many as 300 people to run off, WSB TV reported.
After Moras ran out of bullets, a cowboy lassoed him and others guests beat on him until law enforcement officials arrived.
Since this happened in Georgia, who also have the stand your ground
laws, I am very surprised this guy got away with a simple beat down.
I guess Wayne LaPierre was wrong.
It's not a good man with a gun that stops a bad man with a gun. It's a good man with a lasso.
So how come churches in Georgia have rodeos? Is Georgia part of the "Old West" now? When will people come to the conclusion that it's not a very good idea to allow other people to trot around with their loaded guns at hand? The rest of the world thinks we are all crazy.

Good thing he didn't have a firearm with an extended clip.
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to see what kind of arsenal there is at his home.
DeleteChurch picnic?!!
ReplyDeleteAlrighty then......SMDH
Hmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised they even arrested him in Georgia.
As far as stand your ground goes, the shooter will say he felt
threatened by rejection for not being invited to the picnic. Some
judge will let him go.
Oops---nevermind "Celestino Moras"---nope, he's going away for a long time . . .
America. Land of the free to be stupid and shoot people, and home of the rest of us, who will now be confined to our homes to avoid drunken idiots with guns.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't enough we enjoy the safety and privacy of our own homes, gun rights guys want to force gun ownership and/or want us cowering in our homes when violence breaks out - making us sorry we aren't equipped to handle bad guys with guns.

The pen is mightier than the sword and the lasso is mightier than the drunk with a gun (only if he runs out of bullets).
ReplyDeleteWhat is going to happen when one of those "open carry" demonstrators shows up intoxicated at a fast food restaurant then gets angry when asked to leave?
ReplyDeleteWill anyone have a lasso?
Wow, the most the churches around here do is bingo, casino trips, maybe a spaghetti or fried chicken dinner. In Georgia they get Rodeos, assclown lassoing, and a bunch of christians beating up a guy whose hands are tied. Not ONE good guy with a gun among the whole bunch. Guess "Guns" aren't mentioned in the Bible, but I think "An eye for an eye" is somewhere in there.
