Joe the Plumber seems to encapsulate the feelings of most of the gun fetishists in this country.

Samuel Wurzelbacher gave his condolences this week to the families of the victims of the mass shooting near the University of California, Santa Barbara. But no tragedy is going to stop "Joe The Plumber" from defending the Second Amendment. 

In an open letter published Tuesday on the website Barbwire, Wurzelbacher went out of his way to explain to the victims' parents that the deaths won't undermine his "Constitutional rights." 

"I am sorry you lost your child. I myself have a son and daughter and the one thing I never want to go through, is what you are going through now," wrote Wurzelbacher, who became something of a mascot for John McCain's failed 2008 presidential campaign. "But: As harsh as this sounds – your dead kids don’t trump my Constitutional rights."

I think that just about sums it up.

To these people who believe that the 2nd Amendment is the MOST important part of the Constitution, there is nothing that they hold more dear.

Not even the lives of our children.

    I repeat what I wrote in the previous posting: Unfortunately neither ignorance nor stupidity are illegal.

    What this idiot - and apparently ALL the current gun nutters don't comprehend (or don't want to, take your pick) - is the second half of the Supreme Court decision which said the 2nd Amendment DOES pertain to the individual's right to own firearms.

    In that decision, it specifically stipulated that "the right is not unlimited and does not prohibit all regulation of either firearms or similar devices."

    They apparently feel the same way the religious extremists feel when faced with the eleventh clause of the Treaty of Tripoli: if I yell loud enough, they can't do anything about it!

    Sorry folks, but when the majority of the people get fed up enough with all these insane murders and massacres, they will start to vote out those who can't see that and you WILL lose.

    So? They are wrong. We do not have to allow well-known constitutional lawyer Wurzelbacher (oh, wait...) define the debate.

    From the Declaration of Independence:
    "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

    Unalienable. Endowed by their Creator, the same Creator that they keep claiming trumps the constitution.

    The Second Amendment to the Constitution on the other hand, is an amendment to the original document. That means the Constitution, a document written by men, can be changed.

    For instance, like so:
    "The first fucking clause of this amendment is first, gunhumpers: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." If you are not part of a well-regulated militia (i.e., the National Guard), of course your right to bear arms will be infringed. How stupid are you?"

    Our unalienable right to life does in fact trump Wurzelbacher's rights to jerk off to news stories about murdered children.

    People are saying that Wurzelbacher's comments are disgusting. They are also wrong.

    Roast in hell, John McCain. Your other Frankenstein's monster finally outdid that braying bag of flaming dog shit, Palin. What a legacy. You must be so proud.

    Also how is carrying a gun during the latest gun-toting nut shooting going to help his kids? A background check and treatment would have prevented the shooting, not another gun.

    Poverty is the parent of revolution and crime.
    So let me see if I'm interpreting this correctly:

    In America, on American soil, innocent people, living their day to day lives, should just be expected to "deal with" the fact that at any given moment, someone may open fire around them, or in a place where their loved ones are in a domestic terror attack. Nothing should be done. No one should be held accountable. Peoples right to owns guns trumps the lives of innocent children.

    Meanwhile, in the country of Libya, in the city of Benghazi, Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty, all of whom understood the risks of their jobs and the Embassy they were stationed at, were killed in an overseas terrorist attack, and the American people have been forced to pay millions for 13 public hearings that haven't turned up anything new in 11 months.

    And then we have people like Hawkeye2010 who have the shear audacity to mention people using tragedies as political movements being "sick and twisted" is not just being willfully ignorant, but evil.

    So, to review: Republicans care more about "finding justice" for four Americans who were killed overseas, who had full knowledge that they had dangerous jobs, than they do about "finding justice" for the thousands of American families who lose their lives, or the lives of loved ones, to a person who was able to get his/her hands on a gun far too easily.

    Remember this when going into the booths this November.

    The guide, which Beretta USA posted to its Facebook page last week, walks readers through different parts of a typical home, offering tips. It asks readers to consider a number of factors, including who a gun is being hidden from: "Kids? Thieves? Jackboots?"

    ...Recently, though, even that tactic has taken a dark turn. Now gun cultists have begun attacking victims, their families and those who defend them. "Truthers" now vandalize memorials to victims, even confronting their families spouting nonsense about "false flags" and that their loved one never even existed. It's become especially bad in states like Texas, where zealots, who brandish loaded weapons in public, taunt and sometimes threaten perfectly innocent people, especially women, who dare to talk about gun safety and sane policy. Civility and simple common courtesy have gone out the window in favor of inflammatory rhetoric, fueled by talk radio and radical organizations who believe their "2A" rights trump all other rights and the rights of all other Americans. To add insult to injury, pseudo-celebrities often add their own voices to the din, usually with some inane comment about "liberty" with a little victim blaming thrown in.

    It happened again after the Isla Vista rampage, where social media came alive with the usual gun memes and commenters focusing simply on the car and the knife that Elliott Rodger used, completely ignoring the gun violence. Joe "the Plumber" Wurzelbacher then chimed in, with an open letter on conservative blog, BarbWire. It was the normal partisan screed that we've come to expect from Wurzelbacher since he was inflicted upon the American public by the McCain campaign in 2008, but this one was particularly heartless, where he poured salt into the wounds of the victims' families, saying:
