Courtesy of Raw Story:
Self-styled revolutionary patriots plan to converge on Washington, D.C., this week to drive President Barack Obama and disloyal lawmakers out of office.
“We are calling for the removal of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi, and Eric Holder as a start toward constitutional restoration,” said retired Army Col. Harry Riley, leader of the Operation American Spring protest group. “They have all abandoned the US Constitution, are unworthy to be retained in a position that calls for servant status.”
Operation American Spring aims to pressure those lawmakers who remain – or are replaced by officials of their own choosing – “to sponsor and pass very Constitutionally crafted State legislation to dissolve the size, powers, scope and spending of the U.S. Government by 2/3rds.”
The activists say they expect 10 million to 30 million like-minded Americans to join them Friday in the nation’s capital for a rally patterned after Occupy Wall Street and “Arab Spring” protests.
I wrote about these yahoos last week, and have to admit I kind of thought they would self destruct well before the 16th. But I guess not.
And if you thought that their claim that there would be between 10 to 30 million protestors was batshit crazy, wait until you hear what else they imagine will take place:
Organizers also anticipate “incremental nullification” by state legislatures of “all withholding taxes, employment taxes, employer taxes, and income taxes.”
“This will effectively DOUBLE the size of ALL American Middle Class family weekly paychecks and cause our local city and town economies to boom,” the group promises on its Facebook page.
Apparently they don't teach economic classes at Benedict Arnold University.
I imagine that this protest will probably be about as successful as that trucker protest last year.
However what I really think these idiots are trying to do is to get themselves shot by law enforcement so that they can claim that Obama has declared martial law and is attacking REAL patriotic Americans.
And if you think that is far fetched, take a look at where they plan to stage a similar protest on the same day:
They also plan a sister event the same day in Bunkerville, Nevada, where militia groups have gathered to support scofflaw rancher Cliven Bundy in his dispute with the federal government.
These people are getting desperate. And when you combine desperate with crazy, bad things could very likely be about to take place.
Or perhaps six people will show up, nobody will notice, and they will slink back to the mental health facilities from which they escaped.
Isn't this classified as sedition? Doesn't that mean that DC Police have the right/obligation to arrest them for an act of treason? WTF?

DeleteAnd, depending on their actions, possibly open rebellion!
DeleteThey'll make the arrests as soon as they can stop rolling around on the floor laughing.
Delete"They'll make the arrests as soon as they can stop rolling around on the floor laughing."
DeleteThis. Exactly this.
I can see 10 to 30 showing up, and I don't mean million. I mean literally.
ReplyDeleteYeah, even Sarah hasn't mentioned this on her FB hate page...how real can it be if Sarah the Hate Monger can't even give them a shout out?
Delete"10 million to 30 million like-minded Americans," huh? More like 10 to 30 paranoids.
ReplyDeleteCurse you, Ronald Reagan, for closing all the institutions that should be housing these mentally and socially deficient people.
ReplyDelete+1000
DeleteI just realized why Sarah idolizes him. Thanks for the answer, Olivia!!!!!
DeleteNo sign of 'em so far but I'll keep checking out my office window and keep you posted. Maybe they stopped to pick up Vagina Gentleman of the Pee Pond. We are under a massive flood watch from midnight on. Boy Jeebus really hates this gang.
ReplyDeleteYes. Drown them God. Throw in a little lightning for effect, and some really loud thunder! I assume they had planned to have some electrical equipment, because what's a good anti-American rally without a mic so the Fox News crew can record hate speech for broadcast on Hannity? Rain and floods...I love it! Their hands will be too wet to hang onto anything but their walkers and their umbrellas!
DeleteRemember when the Palinistas whined that bad weather (a tornado watch) kept thousands away from the Wasilla Wendigo's speech in Des Moines Iowa at the end of last month? (it was the ShePAC "Heels On, Gloves Off" rally for the pig-castrating TP Senate candidate)
DeleteThe 30 million "revolutionary patriots" have a ready made excuse for not showing up. Lightning and thunderstorms are rolling in to our nation's capital, and you know how God's wrath is attracted to metal objects, like rifles and tin-foil-covered helmets.
Oh lord, they'll get lost, exit the Metro stop in my neighborhood, and moan about the "creeping menace of Chip-ott-however-they-call it," while balefully eyeing the happy youngsters stuffing down burritos.
DeleteBetter warn Bachelor #3 if he goes out. Being six-foot-five and muscular, though (first of all: he's white!), he may be safe. I worry about stray bullets... well, everywhere.
Thunder, lightning and heavy rain, Thor is not amused. Don’t shoot them; let the god do his thing. I want to see these people looking like drowned rats; fat, white drowned rats.
ReplyDeleteDarlene, I think you meant to say "Zeus is not amused".
DeleteThere are only one true gods and they are led by Zeus. Avoid being smited (smitten?) by an angry almighty, all powerful, vengeful Zeus and renounce your false oath to Thor immediately!
Shouldn't that be Quetzalcoatl?
DeleteSo we get to find out what happens to Hoverounds when they get caught in downpours?
DeleteZeus, Thor...it'd be cool if they all made their scornful displeasure felt. Neck, Zeus knocked out the power to my medical facility in 2010 while I was getting my cancer surgery because he knew I disrespected him in my fiction. ;)
DeleteM from MD
"Zeus knocked out the power to my medical facility in 2010"
DeleteSorry, Aragon, that was Thor
2010? I believe it was Quetzalcoatl.
DeleteDoesn't anyone look their Mayan Calendar?
For some humorous reading, check out their page on how to prepare / what to bring to DC. Make sure you don't go anywhere without your "Battle Buddy"! HA HA HA HA!

I read that list when it was first announced and laughed like you, Arcturus. How are they going to schlep all that in? Shopping cart? You won't be able to tell them from the homeless. No offense to homeless people.
DeleteI love this: "Team up. Travel in groups of 4 or greater. Stay in groups and do not leave your buddies".
DeleteHell yeah. We got black people here - a black mayor and President - wimmen in suits working in offices - food trucks on the Mall selling Muslim food like shish-kabob - no wonder these shitbirds have to buddy up.
I will warn my teenage daughter to watch out for these eejits when she heads down to the Wizards playoff game tonight. Verizon Center is not far from the Archives and they might be there fapping over the Constititution with their "buddies".
At the bottom of that "Patriots for America" list:
Delete"74 members like this"
I'm guessing a lot less will actually show up.
C'an they afford all that crap, let alone lug it around? I'm picturing a bunch of yahoos in colonial garb madly driving their hoveround while playing sheriff with their Obamaphones. If it rains REAL hard, it'll be hoveround bumper cars
DeleteA friend who's a WWII veteran is going to D.C. on Saturday for Armed Forces Day. He's a lifelong Republican. When I told him about this carnival of paranoids, he just shook his head. "Haven't they heard of voting?" he asked.
ReplyDeleteIn the words of George W. "bring it on"
ReplyDeleteEuuuuuwwwww sodden grubs.- crawl back under your rocks, please. And take the $carah carcass with you -share with the dung beetles.
ReplyDeleteThe retired military officer who is leading this gang of mentally deficient thugs, first, should be arrested for treason, and then stripped all of all his military benefits, even those that are being enjoyed by his spouse, if there is one. His followers should suffer the same consequences. Drone the bastards!
ReplyDelete"...first, should be arrested for treason, and then stripped all of all his military benefits, even those that are being enjoyed by his spouse, if there is one...."
DeleteAMEN!
And immediately. HE has already crossed the line.
I suppose if an embarrassingly sparse crowd of "revolutionary patriots" shows up, he can just say he's in town too for Armed Forces Day, and repudiate the entire affair if he gets wind of military pushback.
DeleteAnon 7:37: I was with you until you said "Drone the bastards."
DeleteNo. I can't agree with that. You sound as blood thirsty as the people we disagree with. I can't condone that.
Just checked the availability of hotel rooms in DC, tons and tons of them. You'd think with millions showing up at least SOME of the hotels would be booked...
ReplyDeleteThey're bringing their Army surplus pup tents and planning to camp out on the mall.

ReplyDeleteHey rabble-rousers! Don't y'all forget to take out Mitch McConnell while you're at it, hear? He's one of the worst offenders you speak of.
‘Libtard’-hating ex-police chief is back with profane video rant and reality TV show deal
ReplyDeleteFormer Gilberton, PA police chief Mark Kessler has released a new expletive-laden video in which he threatened his critics, then angrily fired an assault rifle.
The video opened with Kessler off-camera, trying to secure the camera to the tripod. Then, wearing a black baseball cap and a pair of matching black ear protection earmuffs and carrying an AR-15 assault rifle, he entered the frame and began to rant.
“Chief Kessler here,” he began, “and I want to tell all my supporters out there that I thank you very much.”
For his detractors, however, Kessler had a different message.
“And for all the people out there that are against me, you can all go f*ck yourselves,” he said. “Go f*ck yourself! Okay? If you think for one minute that I forgot, or that I’m gonna f*ckin’ forget any of this, you have another thing coming.”
Railing against “all you f*cking bastards down there in that f*cking town” and “all the f*cking politicians that wanna play f*cking games,” Kessler said those who oppose him “awakened a sleeping f*cking giant.”
He then turned and opened fire with the rifle, sending a spray of random bullets into the woods.
Kessler’s angry videos — in which he ranted about “libtards” and endorsed armed insurrection against the Obama administration and the federal government — cost him his job as Gilberton’s chief of police in 2013 when he was forced into retirement.
In March, Kessler announced that he’d signed a development deal for a militia-themed reality show with Relativity TV.

Yawn, it will be about as successful as Palin's shows. By the way what is relativity tv? Never heard of it.
DeleteYou know, the word "libtard" always made me laugh. I mean, there isn't even a "t" in "liberal." When you go to such infantile lengths to insult people, you know you've already lost the battle.
Delete"Conservative," on the other hand...
"Conserviturd?" LOL
Delete9:18 -
DeleteI like 'Conserviturd'!
After all, the -tard ending is taken from the offensive word used to describe people with developmental disabilities. However, people have developmental disabilities through no fault of their own.
Conservatives, however, make a conscious choice to be turds and that suffix is much more accurate.
Spitting, Stalking, Rape Threats: How Gun Extremists Target Women
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the dark side of America's war over guns.
As Jennifer Longdon steered her wheelchair through the Indianapolis airport on April 25, she thought the roughest part of her trip was over. Earlier that day she'd participated in an emotional press conference with the new group Everytown for Gun Safety, against the backdrop of the National Rifle Association's annual meeting. A mom, gun owner, and Second Amendment supporter, Longdon was paralyzed in 2004 after being shot in her car by unknown assailants, and has since been a vocal advocate for comprehensive background checks and other gun reforms.
As Longdon sat waiting for her flight, a screen in the concourse showed footage of the press conference. A tall, thin man standing nearby stared at Longdon, then back at the screen. Then he walked up to Longdon and spat in her face. No one else blinked.
Longdon was shocked and embarrassed, she told me, but she didn't falter. "Wow, aren't you a big man," she said as he turned and walked away. Instead of calling for security, she wheeled herself to a restroom to clean herself off. She was tired—she lives with constant physical pain—and didn’t want to miss her flight.
"Should I have done something more? Quite honestly, in the scheme of things it was a little man and a little moment," she said. "He felt to me like a coward and a bully."
What happened to Longdon in Indianapolis is part of a disturbing pattern.
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/05/guns-bullying-open-carry-women-moms-texas
The melonhead who spit at this lady in the wheelchair probably did so because he knew she wouldn't be able to bestow a swift kick in the nads or run after him. I've never in my life encountered a bunch of more cowardly, spoiled, childish, petulant losers than xtreme RWers. No wonder they need their "security" guns, throw screaming tantrums about the scary black dude in the WH and/or are attracted to Blessed Mommy Sarah. Maybe they should consider holding their collective breath until they get what they want--at least that would be productive!
DeleteI've got to imagine they weren't alone, to everyone who saw this and did nothing, Fuck You, and not in a good way.
DeleteTea Party’s Latest Plan To Get Millions To March On Washington Will Be A Comedic Failure
ReplyDeleteThis weekend, a far-right, anti-government group calling itself Patriots For America, plans to organize a ‘huge’ march on Washington, D.C. The march is supposed to be the first phase of a plan they are calling Operation American Spring. The organizer of this event, retired US Army Colonel Harry Riley, is claiming that they may get up to 10 million ‘patriots’ to attend this ‘peaceful’ march on the nation’s capital. The intent of the march is supposed to be to show the country’s current leaders that they are violating the US Constitution and that the nation’s citizens would like them to be removed from office.
Let’s get this out of the way. There is NO WAY this crackpot is going to get 10 million people to march on Washington. He’ll be lucky if he can get 10,000 people to make their way to this event. And, honestly, 10,000 seems like a very, very high estimate. Currently, the Facebook page for Operation American Spring has fewer than 24,000 likes. However, judging from the comments on the page, it is possible that a large percentage of those liking the page are progressives and Occupy-types who are just there to contradict the nonsensical posts left on the page. The event’s official website, an amateurish, haphazard mess, has a global Alexa ranking of 146,000 and an American ranking of 30,000. Not bad for a blog, but it hardly instills confidence if you are hoping to attract millions of people to an event.
The three phases of Operation American Spring are hilarious. It displays the extreme delusions of the group, as Riley and his followers apparently think they can create a huge uprising that will overthrow the government and then place a tribunal of Tea Party darlings in charge. Below are the three phases, per the website:

GOP Candidate Derails Debate with Comments on Jews, Polish, Blacks, Gays, and More
ReplyDelete...“A substantial portion of my political campaign is campaigning against political correctness,” Harley boasted, noting that he included motorcyclists and Irishmen in the jokes. “I like blue collar values…I hit everybody. Jews, Polish people, Irish, Italians, religious jokes, and black jokes. And by the way, my wife screened that, and we took the real hardcore zingers out.”
“I’m about as politically correct as your proverbially turd in the punchbowl,” Harley continued. “I’m going for the vote of the real people out there, not these bondage types, people who don’t have a clue about picking up strangers at night and hauling them off god knows where. Try that for a while.”
The debate moderator’s “next question!” is priceless.

The NRA Is Going to Have a Hard Time Reaching Out to Millennials
ReplyDeleteNow that the NRA has figured out that the next generation of consumers may not be as interested in buying guns as previous generations, they have started their own television and Internet network, NRA Freestyle, where "adventure, style, culture and firearms collide." It'll be interesting to see whether an organization whose rank-and-file membership is overwhelmingly white, male, rural, blue-collar and committed to "family values," can re-orient itself to capture the hearts and minds of a population that is increasingly non-white, college educated, urban-suburban and pro-gay rights. And most of all, it's a population, according to Pew and other surveys, that has little, if any, loyalty or even interest in the ideology of old fashioned liberal or conservative points of view.
With these thoughts in mind I tuned into the premiere of Noir, the first show to be aired on the Freestyle network. The headliner, Colion Noir, is an African-American young man from Texas who has been part of the NRA commentators stable for the past year and is considered the "proof" that one can be hip, cool, minority and dig guns. Noir is joined by Amy Robbins, whose presence and her comments reminding everyone of the importance of the female gun market even though, in fact, women continue to show little interest in guns.
But despite the hip and cool verbal pitter-patter between a black guy and a white girl, let's not forget what the show's really all about. It takes Noir and Robbins about five minutes to deliver a snarky and totally irrelevant rant against Hillary Clinton, with a reminder that a Clinton presidency would mark a new chapter in the attack on citizen-owned guns. And then at about the 10 minute mark, after our two hosts are joined by Billy Johnson, who regularly delivers conservative tirades against gun control on NRA webcasts, the show becomes just another vehicle for attacking former NYC mayor Mike Bloomberg and his attempts to use "government" to tell us all "how to run our own lives."
Up until the Bloomberg rant, I thought the show was making some headway into changing the image of the NRA from a hardcore, politicized advocacy organization into something that a younger, less politically-committed generation might find easier to accept. But Mr. Noir, believe me when I tell you that using about half the show to push out the same, old, NRA-style attacks against the "enemies" of the 2nd Amendment isn't hip, isn't cool, and it isn't style combined with culture. Colion Noir, my man, it's just boring and dull.

O/T but Chris Christie Is Cooked as Former Campaign Manager Says Gov Knew About Bridgegate
ReplyDeleteAs Chris Christie delusionally continues to believe that he can be president, his former campaign manager says that her personally told him about the GWB lane closures the day before they happened.
According to the New York Daily News:
Gov. Chris Christie’s former campaign manager says he told the governor about plans to close lanes on the George Washington Bridge in December, contradicting Christie’s claims he had no prior knowledge.
Bill Stepien, who lost his job in the scandal, contends he told Christie about the GWB traffic plans on Dec. 12, a day before the governor told reporters his staff didn’t know about them.
Meanwhile, Gov. Christie told the Fiscal Summit that he expects Bridgegate to blow over before the 2016 election, “I think this will be a footnote by the time any of these decisions are made.”
As Christie was blowing off Bridgegate, his Wall Street donors were pronouncing him dead, and shopping for another candidate. According to the AP, “Shortly after Christie discussed his White House ambitions in Washington on Wednesday, Republican donors gathered for a hedge fund conference in Las Vegas shared a decidedly pessimistic view of Christie’s presidential prospects. Even self-proclaimed Christie fans said his political brand probably has suffered permanent damage, acknowledging they’ve been forced to look elsewhere for a business-friendly presidential contender.”
To summarize, Chris Christie thinks that he can still be president while the staffers that he threw under the bus are letting the world know that he is a liar. At the same time, Christie’s base of financial support has completely abandoned him and is off looking for another candidate.
If Christie does run for president, it will be a disaster of epic proportions. Much like Mitt Romney did in 2012, Chris Christie seems to have convinced himself that it is his turn to be the Republican nominee. The whole post-Sandy PR image that Christie built up has been destroyed, as the ads that can be used against him write themselves. Because of Bridgegate, Gov. Christie will never be known as a straight talking politician who gets things done and fights for the common man.
It’s over and everybody knows it, except for Chris Christie.

Gee, and he thought people were dumb enough to believe him? Time to go back to wolfing down mass quantities and Chripsie Creme runs for MaryPat. You're a bully and a towhead.
DeleteNow THIS is good to see, Gryphen!
ReplyDeleteAccording to our statistical election-forecasting machine, the Democrats have a slight edge, with about a 55% chance of retaining a majority.

I checked their FB page a moment ago. As of now, they say they have 794 people going; 413 maybes; and 14.2K invited.
ReplyDeleteThey must be expecting an overnight surge. LOL
I doubt that 700 will show up. Too late in the month because their welfare checks are already spent and greyhound doesn't take food stamps.
DeleteSomewhat O/T but related to the wacko "militias".
ReplyDeletehttp://deadlinelive.info/2014/04/24/az-toughest-sheriff-joe-arpio-threatens-militia/
Sheesh
Gryphen, I'm glad you reminded us about tomorrow because I had forgotten about it. It seems they have been quietly lowering the estimates from 10 to 30 million to maybe 10,000 now. I believe with even if 10,000 people show up it will be a miracle, and hopefully if the media covers them to any degree they will embarrass them even further by reminding their viewers what they had predicted originally. It will be interesting in hearing what FOX has to say about tomorrow
ReplyDeleteI don't think guns will be a problem since their leaders have told them to leave their gun at home because guns are illegal in D.C. That alone should take the some wind out of their sails by taking away the gun lovers and militia nuts who like to display their guns in public. If there should be any gun fire you can be sure it came from a gun lover with a twitching trigger finger trying to start a war with the government. If so, it will end up discrediting the far right even more by clearly demonstrating just how ignorant and stupid these people really are.
I thought their original purpose was to run Obama and the Congress out of office and allow them to take over. It originally was a very delusional thinking on their part from the beginning, and now it has become even crazier than before.
It's going to flood tomorrow in DC so unless they are already there, they are going to have a hard time...
ReplyDeleteHopefully, they ALL shoot each other to death.
ReplyDeleteI can't WAIT for the late night comedians "take" on the little peckers epic failure. I read their site, and the first "rule" was "no permits" - then he tells people to bring tents, food, toilet paper, etc etc etc. Whose tax dollars are paying to clean up all the dirty depends? And wouldn't permits show they're serious? Nothing's for free, folks, the "Well ordered militia" (those guys and gals with guns and badges) have a job to do. They'll be lucky if fifty people show up, chickenshits.
ReplyDeleteGryphen, I think you mean martial law.
ReplyDeleteYup, God is displeased with them. It is pouring in DC and one area nearby in Virginia has over 5 inches of rain so far and it is still raining. Brahahaha.
