After making it impossible for President Obama to get anything through Congress, the House Republicans are now planning to sue President Obama for using executive order to go around them.

He is just going around us like we are not even there to block his policies. Do you know how much that hurts?
Courtesy of Roll Call:

Speaker John A. Boehner, R-Ohio, told Republicans Tuesday he could have an announcement within days on whether the House will file a lawsuit against President Barack Obama, challenging the executive actions that have become the keystone of the administration.

The lawsuit could set up a significant test of constitutional checks and balances, with the legislative branch suing the executive branch for ignoring its mandates, and the judiciary branch deciding the outcome.

Boehner told the House Republican Conference during a closed-door meeting Tuesday morning that he has been consulting with legal scholars and plans to unveil his next steps this week or next, according to sources in the room.

Yeah how dare the President do his job, when the Republicans don't want him to do it!

To make their case the conservatives recently started passing around an email claiming that Obama had issued a whopping 923 executive order. However Snopes slapped that shit down, and reported that there were only a measly 147, which has now grown to a still quite measly 168.

(Seriously can't conservatives count?)

In fact as TPM reports President Obama is on the very low end for issuing executive orders:

Congressional Republicans threw a fit when President Barack Obama said during his State of the Union address this week that he would issue executive orders to forward policies if he couldn't reach an agreement with Congress.

"He's not a king," Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) said, warning that House conservatives might just sue Obama if he followed through on his pledge. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) bemoaned Obama's "imperial presidency" in the editorial pages of the Wall Street Journal.

But, as the chart above shows, Obama has been downright thrifty in issuing executive orders by historical standards.

His 168 executive orders come out to less than 0.1 for every day he's been in office. FDR, by comparison, was cranking out close to one per day as he faced the Great Depression and World War II.

So I would like ot assume that Boehner is simply throwing out some red meat for the paint chip eaters becasue if he seriously takes this bullshit to a judge he is going to get laughed right out of court.

On the other hand perhaps President Obama can sue these obstructionists for taking federal money and not even pretending to do their damn jobs!

Vote Republicans out of office wherever you live! Governors and mayors especially! If you have one up for reelection in the U.S. Congress be sure and get him or her out of there too! They are ALL fucking disasters!

It's a fact that the country was going down hill under the control of the Republicans and President Bush couldn't stop us from heading into another great depression. It was President Obama that got us out of that mess and now that our heads are above the water the Republicans wants control again.

The black man will beat the shit out of the orange one! He is so much smarter and has the respect of the majority in the USA. Can you imagine Boehner being POTUS? (Remember the asshole is third in line!)

Ahh, Gryphen, your caption under the photo made me laugh out loud at work.

Thanks for that. I appreciate you taking every opportunity to point out what a cry-baby Boehner is, instead of how the traditional media look the other way. Can you imagine if a Democrat cried like that at the drop of a hat? The repubs would never stop chiding us over it.

The utter gall. The complete blindness to their own folly. Wasn't it just this past week that Congress was seeking a way to abdicate their responsibility for declaring war and wanted it to be all on Obama? That little plan was sacked yesterday with the submission of a bill by Senate Democrats affirming Congress's responsibility to declare war and to not rescind that duty to the President.

So this a.m. Boehner thinks he's going to sue the President over EO's? WHAT has this guy been drinking?? And what happened to the GOP that is has become so stupid and ideologically rigid that they are walking, no running, right over the edge of the cliff like a bunch of rabid lemmings. - Oh yeah, Romney, Cruz, Reed, Palin, Cheney, Bush, Rove,....That's what happened to the GOP.

John Boehner’s Lawsuit Is The First Step In A Republican Plot to Impeach Obama

...The point is that Boehner and the Republicans are suing Obama because they don’t like his presidency. Even conservatives like George Will admit that President Obama was within his legal authority to use the executive orders. Congressional Republicans have abused their investigative powers (Issa, Darrell), spending powers (debt ceiling, and government shutdown), and now they are preparing to abuse their impeachment powers.

Republicans failed twice to defeat Obama at the ballot box. They have failed to stop the Obama agenda through obstruction, and now with nothing left to lose, they are plotting a hostile takeover of the White House.

White House: Boehner Lawsuit Is 'Higher Gear' Of GOP Obstructionism

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Wednesday that House Speaker John Boehner's planned lawsuit against President Obama for his use of executive action is a "higher gear" of GOP obstructionism than previously seen.

"For a long time, we've seen Republicans block progress in Congress," Earnest said when asked about the lawsuit at the daily White House press briefing. "But in this case, it seems that Republicans have shifted their opposition into a higher gear. It's a gear that I previously didn't know existed."

Boehner said Wednesday that he would sue the administration over Obama's executive actions, though he did not specify which ones would be challenged in court.

"The fact that they are considering a taxpayer-funded lawsuit against the President of the United States for doing his job, I think is the kind of step that most Americans wouldn't support," Earnest said.

Even John Boehner Can't Believe What a Dick John Boehner Has to Be Now

...The GOP's complaints about Obama's executive orders—which track pretty well with his recent predecessors' use of executive power—are myriad, but stopping short of fulfilling the impeachment fantasies is sort of significant. This is the next chapter in a long pointless roman a clef described by TPM's Josh Marshall as a "long truce" in which, with Congress and the White House at an impasse, Obama does the whole governing thing through executive orders while Republicans let him do it and assail him for it, essentially guaranteeing nominal governance while delivering the red meat that both parties' bases crave.

Nancy Pelosi: John Boehner lawsuit is ‘subterfuge’

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi charged that House Republicans are floating a lawsuit against President Barack Obama only to distract from the GOP’s do-nothing agenda.

Speaker John Boehner told Republicans this week that he is weighing a lawsuit over Obama’s use of executive action — a possibility Pelosi called “subterfuge.”

“They are doing nothing here so they have to give some aura of activity,” the California Democrat said.

I've heard several people on the news say that they think it would have to be the Senate and the House involved in the lawsuit before they would have standing for a lawsuit to go forward.
The Senate and House have to concur in order to pass a law so it makes sense that the whole of Congress would have to be involved.

Boehner is an asshole! His supposed suit will go nowhere and he and Pelosi know it! I want Republicans voted out of the U.S. Congress. They do not govern or support the folks that put them in office. Thank God we have President Obama in spite of the obstruction he has had from the jerks since the day he was first elected!

Earnest: ‘Unfortunate’ That GOP Has Opted for ‘Litigious Strategy’

The White House responded to House Speaker John Boehner’s planned lawsuit against the Obama administration Wednesday, with Press Secretary Josh Earnest saying the move will not cause the president to curtail his use of executive actions. During the daily press briefing, Earnest said it was “unfortunate” that Republicans were resorting to “litigious strategies” rather than trying to work on legislation with President Barack Obama.

Asked if an extended court battle is something the White House is “gearing up for,” Earnest predicted that the “taxpayer-funded lawsuit” by House Republicans would “not be very warmly received” by the American public.

  16. The House just passed a bill that eliminates even more of the Franks/Dodd regulations regarding Wall St. plus gives the Koch Bros. a bailout.

Could the G "no" P be even more obvious as to who owns them?

Repub1%can'ts. Can't do anything and is going to a make sure no one else does either.

Boehner, ok the gloves are off now, Boner got his widdle feewings hurt because President Obama's got his nose to the grindstone and doing the work that counts for the people. Boner just lost his number one cheerleader in an election, and he's doing this to run out the clock and not do his job.
Looking a little pale mr weepy, what you been doing? Napping?
What ever happened to "Jobs Jobs Jobs"? They're there, President Obama got them there.
