Authorities shot and killed a sovereign citizen Friday morning outside a Georgia courthouse after he brought weapons and explosives in an attempt to take over the building.
nvestigators said Dennis Marx arrived at the Forsyth County Administration Building with an assault rifle, bulletproof vest, smoke grenades, and a gas mask.
Marx also brought water and other supplies, ammunition, zip-tie restraints, and buckets of homemade explosives to the courthouse, said Sheriff Duane Piper.
“He came here with the purpose of occupying the courthouse,” Piper said.
He deployed stop sticks at the courthouse entrance to prevent other vehicles from driving closer and opened fire from his vehicle.
Marx was met outside the courthouse by a deputy – who distracted and then fatally shot him through the windshield of the man’s SUV.
The deputy, a 30-year veteran, was shot in the knee during the confrontation but was expected to recover.
“It would be a guess to think how many lives he saved had he not engaged him right there,” Piper said. “Mr. Marx’s intention was to get inside that front door and to take hostages.”
According to a law enforcement official familiar with Dennis Marx he was a “sovereign citizen” well-known to local authorities, and that they were approaching his residence with caution for fear of booby traps and hidden explosives.
And of course these sovereign citizens types are the same people who the Tea Party and Sarah Palin pander to, and who Alaska terrorist Schaeffer Cox identified himself with.
Gee I wonder which 2nd Amendment protected gun wholesaler sold this lunatic an assault rifle, smoke grenades and stop sticks?
I mean who could predict that he would do something totally illegal and possibly homicidal with those?
Hey Sarah, another one of you buddies..

The Sovereign Citizen Movement
Sovereign citizens are anti-government extremists who believe that even though they physically reside in this country, they are separate or “sovereign” from the United States. As a result, they believe they don’t have to answer to any government authority, including courts, taxing entities, motor vehicle departments, or law enforcement.
That sounds like Sarah Palin to me.

DeleteHey, sovereign citizen: If you don't want to pay taxes, please do not use any public roads. Please do not drink any water from a municipal source. Please do not use any public library to research your sovereign fantasies. Please do not get any medical care in a governmentally assisted hospital. Please do not use any U.S. currency, or the U.S. banking system. If your house catches on fire, please don't call the fire department.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, return to your backwoods hideout and continue to nurse your grievances in private.
Did this idiot have a chance to breed? I sincerely hope not.
ReplyDeleteHey! You! Out of the gene pool!
I believe one of the main reason Sarah Palin is kept around to spew her garbage is because she keeps the fires lit for freaks with guns.
ReplyDeleteHer attacks on our President and the last American POW were a success because she accomplished stirring up the hate machine. They don't care if she has to lie to do it, she just has make it intense and feeling it is more important then ever to "take back" their country. It is more important then ever to have guns. It is more important then ever to have guns to show your guns and do something.
Sarah Palin is doing a good job sparking up the crazies with guns.
I wouldn't go so far as to say that Sarah's attacks on anything have really been a success so far except for stirring up hatred. So in that sense you are right.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure he has family and friends who loved him, but is it wrong that I'm laughing really hard? When do the Darwin Awards come out? I believe we have a runner up!
ReplyDeleteHope the deputy who got injured heals quickly and well enough to do his job.
I think we should have an adult theme park where all these guys could go and have real live shoot-outs with each other.
ReplyDeleteAfter a few years we could plow it over and build a nice park.
I think that's a great idea!!
