Idaho Republican convention collapses due to infighting and acrimony among the delegates. Boy do I love good news on a Monday!

Seriously what is going on here?
Courtesy of Raw Story:

The Idaho state GOP convention collapsed on Saturday as the presiding Republican U.S. congressman called a halt to the proceedings amid infighting and walk-outs by delegates.

Saying the party had hit “rock bottom,” 1st District Idaho Congressman Raul Labrador adjourned the convention without electing a chairman, establishing a platform or completing any of its scheduled business, according to the Spokesman-Review.

“This is as low as the party can go,” said Labrador. “We have hit bottom. I think the party has no choice but to go up from here.”

The three-day convention dissolved into acrimony as various factions representing the Tea Party and the libertarian wing battled over unseating delegates.

According to the Huffington Post, all 15 delegates from Bannock County were successfully deposed, with a move to remove delegates from Ada and Twin Falls counties in the works before Labrador gaveled the proceedings to a close.

State Sen. Chuck Winder (R-Boise) criticized the attempts disqualify entire delegations from the three counties.

“It was basically the ultra-, ultra-conservative, tea party-libertarian type people basically flexing their muscle in the way the thing was organized,” said Winder. “It’s a real shame that a convention comes to that stage, where there really wasn’t any real floor leadership, there wasn’t any fairness in the process, either in the credentials committee or on the floor. It was all predetermined. It’s kind of ‘who’s going to have the power,’ rather than working together.”

This same scenario is playing out, in one form or another, all over the country.

The Tea Party, who got a taste of power and liked, are determined to either take over the Republican party or tear it apart.

We saw this same thing happen up here in Alaska, and currently the establishment Republicans maintain a tenuous hold on leadership, but things remain shaky.

Which is great news for our Democratic Senator and will undoubtedly mean the same for Democrats in other red states where this infighting is taking place.

YES! The right is angry and crazy, they have something to fight for (even if it's wrong and in their own heads). We need to stop feeling hopeless and disappointed in the system because it's the fighters who get out the vote. COME ON DEMS!

It's now or never to put the idiots in their place resoundingly.

Looks like the GOP is getting a taste of what they have been doing to Democrats, and Democratic districts. Doesn't feel good, eh Chuck. Winder?

Howard Dean Feels That Eric Cantor’s Loss Can Lead The Way To Big Democratic Gains

Howard Dean stated that the recent primary loss by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) offers five lessons for Democrats in upcoming elections. The former head of the Democratic National Committee insisted in the piece that the Democrats’ grass-roots progressive base is larger than that of the Tea Party and that the progressive base’s push for policies that prove popular to the majority of Americans will eventually bear fruit in the 2014 and 2016 elections. He also pointed out that Cantor’s loss shows that anything can happen in a given election, as nobody predicted that Tea Party challenger David Brat would defeat Cantor.

Dean started off his piece by letting Democrats know that they need to take an all-encompassing approach to elections, running competitive campaigns in every district and state rather than picking and choosing the ones they feel they have competitive advantages in. He also pointed out that dissatisfaction with this current Congress means that voters are willing to take down well-known Republicans due to the obstruction they’ve shown these past four years. Dean then moved on to saying that passion, dedication and door-to-door campaigning will beat out big money any day of the week.

Republicans Self Destruct By Moving To the Far Right After Cantor’s Loss

Over the weekend Iowa Republicans held their state convention, and it was a harbinger of what Americans have to look forward to after sitting House Majority Leader Eric Cantor lost his primary race to a libertarian college professor. It was a relative certainty that Cantor’s loss would drive the GOP to completely fall in line behind teabagger extremists who demand all-out war to control the nation or governance comes to a screeching halt; likely they want both. What is curious, is that Republicans are convinced teabaggers are enraged that establishment Republicans did not oppose President Obama over the past five years and that now they demand, and Republicans will deliver, unflinching opposition to the President. Subsequently, establishment Republicans are lurching hard right to embrace teabagger fascism and end democracy if the extremists do not get what they want.

Introducing the Current Era of New and Largely Unknown Republican House Leaders

Word has it that a California Republican Representative named McCarthy is in line to take over Eric Cantor’s post as House Majority Leader next Thursday, the 19th. For you seniors out there, I checked to see if that might just possibly be ‘Charlie’ McCarthy, of old time ventriloquist Edgar Bergen (Candice’s dad) and puppet, Charlie McCarthy, fame. After all, Republican Congressmen are all puppets to the giant corporations. As it develops, the Californian is Kevin McCarthy (no relation). Up until Friday, the post was all but conceded to the non-wooden McCarthy. Then, Friday, along comes a no-name backbencher, Raul Labrador, entering the fray.

Ironically, the Puerto Rican-born Mormon Latino is an unforgiving ‘illegal’ immigrant basher. No citizenship for the undocumented, EVER!!!. So Labrador, himself a one-time immigration attorney is enemigo publico numero uno to the U.S. population of targeted Hispanics and Latinos. And we can’t ignore his Tea Party wackadoodle bona fides AND the fact he resides in overwhelmingly Republican Idaho. If ever there was a bizarre political state that makes its own rules, many, way short of legal, it’s Idaho. Nice skiing. That’s where it ends for reasonable Americans.

Give 'em and inch and they'll take an AR15 to your local Target store...

Open Carry Group Holds Rally At Target After Getting NRA To Back Down

The almost-too-hot-for-the-NRA gun rights group Open Carry Texas was back at it this weekend, demonstrating in a Dallas suburb and making a stop in a parking lot outside a Target store.

The group posted numerous pictures on its Facebook page from its activities Saturday in Irving, Texas. (Open carry of long guns, including semiautomatic rifles, is legal in Texas, but open carry of handguns isn't. Open Carry Texas' demonstrations are partly designed to call attention to that fact.) According to the gun-control group Moms Demand Action, the activists gathered in a parking lot outside a Target store in Irving.

"Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America confirmed with a Target manager that the store knew in advance that the open carry rally would take place, and Target did nothing to stop it," Moms Demand Action said in an emailed statement.

Open Carry Supporter: ‘Got Plenty of Ammo for All Them [Moms Demand Action] B*tches’ (Video)

...“Thank you Target for supporting open carry. I am gonna carry my AR 15 every time I go shopping there. And fuck all these everytown pussys who never holded or shot a gun. And f*ck the Moms demand action sluts for their big cock suckers they need to close. Once again thank you target for recognizing our 2nd admendment rights…” he wrote, before deleting his comment in shame.

Hey Gryph- off topic, but did you happen to see what Hillary Clinton's favorite book is? Seems like every day her pandering is reaching a new low (or reaching new heights?) day by day. It is getting embarrassingly awkward.

I thought I had this bitch won, and then you come in with that comment, I had to reread it again just to make sure I got it right. So creative and bold, did you come up with that all yourself? "Troll". Awesome. It was like I had been living in 1987, and you just fast forwarded me to 1996. I can tell you I will never venture from the herd mentality again at IM after that, as it is going to sting for a while. "Troll". Wow, just wow. Better off not to stir up any heated discussions or use any sarcasm around here with your kind of wit. Man, a real zinger.

    Filibuster Reform Is Paying Off

...Thanks to the push, Obama has appointed 261 appeals and district court judges — all of them lifetime positions — filling nearly a third of the entire federal judiciary since entering the White House.

...The influx of Obama judges is likely to give the federal courts a more liberal tint than they've had in recent decades. Before he entered the White House, Republican presidents had been appointing judges for 20 of the previous 28 years.

"A president in office eight years leaves a stamp on the judiciary," said Nancy Zirkin, policy director for the Leadership Conference, a liberal coalition. "Obama will be able to leave a stamp."

Maybe that tantrum Sarah had threatening to leave the Republican party was a ruse. She knew the ultra-conservative Tea Partiers have planned this - and she wants them to BEG her to run as their leader.

Of course, she has no plan to run as a candidate, but we all know what motivates Sarah to get up in the morning is to have people want her, need her and love her.

She wants to hear people say it. That takes care of her fix for the day.

The rise of the Nazi party has similar characteristics. Everyone thought they were just cookoo and would never gain control, until they did and then changed all the rules to favor their group psychosis. The rest, as they say, is history.

Michelle Obama Calls Out House Republicans For Trying to Roll Back School Lunch Standards

House Republicans are due to vote this week on an agriculture spending bill that includes a provision rolling back the nutritional requirements in school lunches, but First Lady Michelle Obama is already calling out the GOP.

In an interview with MSN, Michelle Obama called out the House Republicans for offering up some bad policy just as the US is batting an epidemic of childhood obesity:

The GOP, bad as it was, sold what little soul it had after the 2008 election to the Koch Brothers and their creation, the "Tea Party." GOP, you deserve the hell you're in but the rest of the country doesn't. Reform, decide you want to help President Obama and the Democrats move the country forward and maybe you can escape from the steaming pit you are in. Yes, GOP, there is redemption, but I don't think that any of your followers are smart enough to go in that direction.

  15. I have to wonder just what has the virulent "Hillary Clinton is/did [something bad]" trolls in such a state--usually posting in threads such as this which have absolutely nothing to do with Clinton. Is Sarah Palin or another pathetic Republican paying someone to try to tarnish or diminish Clinton? Why? Just in a vain attempt to feel better?
