Militia members and other concerned U.S. citizens are converging on the border town of Laredo, Texas, on Friday to create a blockade against illegal immigrants crossing into the United States, the organizer of the human chain and protest said on Newsmax TV's "MidPoint."
"This will continue for days and weeks to come" and spread "to other points" along the U.S.-Mexico frontier, Barbie Rogers, founder of the Patriots Information Hotline, said in a telephone interview.
Rogers declined to give an exact head count beyond "more than 50 people" or reveal whether participants are armed, citing worries about their security.
But she said blockaders will follow the same rules of engagement as protesters in an April standoff between federal officials and Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy. "Just like at the Bundy ranch, there will be no patriot out there on that line that will fire first," Rogers said.
Just like the Bundy ranch standoff huh? And just when I thought this was going to be a bad idea.
But seriously how can having a bunch of xenophobic, heavily armed Rambo wannabes monitoring the border in camouflaged motorized scooters not work out for the best?

Sorry to disappoint you 10:13, I've been here for years making fun of Palin, probably longer than you. Isn' t that why everyone is here inititally? DeleteCorrect, personal opinions tend to get confused with facts. Not all laws are good yet we are to follow them or change them when we can.
The "drug war" sucks... it only fuels crime. Human trafficking is catching up with drug trafficking. Weapons-drugs-humans that are often called aliens, illegal immigrants, wetbacks. It isn't new, it just gets worse. Conservatives once loved their cheap labor, not so much thinking about better living situations, health and education for laborers. Now education is loosing and it is all about solving every little problem with a weapon. Who needs a healthy educated brain today? Everyone needs rocket launchers, if you don't agree some low brain cell count with two legs will start with name calling and may graduate to having to defend themselves when threats aren't enough. If you go to Wendy's be sure you can defend yourself and carry the biggest arsenal you can afford. Someone with the wrong skin may serve you mustard when you want ketchup because they haven't mastered your language. That is how we solve problems, guns and weapons. Too old school to just hit someone with a fist.
The Cartels have too much power. I am not on the border and they own the streets here. Not as much local government yet. No one will talk about the "drug war". It is like we only need more defense. Americans have created such a well adjusted society, we only need weapons and rights to point them where we want.

DeleteThe large number of people crossing the border from Mexico are coming from big business enterprise. The people crossing the border are victims, also a few criminals. I am not saying some don't cause problems. The cartels certainly do, but the CEOs are not the ones who cross illegally, threaten US citizens, litter et al. If the cartel's business is transporting humans and they decide to create problems they will transport criminals from prisons and not hard working families. Cartels also love guns and have no regard for the humans that get caught up in the middle of their business transactions.

We need immigration reform. Mexico has all of our criminals they would want. If they don't have money, too bad. U.S./Mexico has prisoner agreements.
For the life of me, why don't they join the National Guard? If they want to be organized part-time civilian militia, that's what the Reserves and National Guard are for. The reason, they were too old, previously rejected (prior records, failed drug/physical training test, failed asvab entry test, etc)., or too damn lazy to follow the rules of the military. Like other posters before, I don't mind them putting in community service hours -- sitting in full military gear in the hot blazing sun in foxholes for hours and hours on end becoming candidates of heat stroke, dehydration and heat exhaustion. My concern is what do these groups intend to do when they find themselves face to face with immigrants trying to cross the border. They've already proven that their public engagement strategies lack thought, strategy, beneficial purpose to all Americans and decisions rooted in reality.
