According to her Twitter bio, Lyda is a “part-time nightmare-inspirer, journalist, host of Sarcasm Overdose, ceo, actress, unsalvageable degenerate film/music/cigar/espresso addict” aka she’s unemployed. Of course those of us at IM know "Dr. Gina" as a Sarah Palin pal, who once famously quit the reality show "Wife Swap" after her husband complained that "dark forces" had invaded their home.
Of course Loudon is a fundamentalist Christian, who homeschooled her daughter which adequately explains why Lyda now identifies herself as an "unsalvageable degenerate" and is currently dating a man old enough to be her creepy pedophile uncle.
Look kids will do what kids will do, but if you host a radio show and write books that gives advice about about raising children and maintaining strong relationships, it might help to have a child who actually makes moral and ethical decisions.

It is not unusual for these unfortunate girls to be known as "skanks" in their peer group and beyond. Obviously the doctors feel that attempting a VBAC is too dangerous to both her and the fetus. Her uterus has previously been cut three times and their is risk of uterine rupture during contractions. She should try to find another practice if she is intent on risking her and jer fetuses life. Otherwise, I stand with the professionals on this one. DeleteIt was the preacher's daughters that were having all the sex in junior high, middle school. A few did it in grade school. On occassion I did go to church, but we were not Southern Baptist or indoctrinated like some I knew. Hence, no sex beyond light kissing. French kissing was shocking. Once I double dated with a preacher's daughter (a church that couldn't dance) my mother tried to tell me to stay away from her and I didn't. I was mortified by the french kissing and didn't want to know what more could happen. I ended up listening to my mother after that.
The girls that would suddenly disappear were usually from the same religious back ground. They would go to the Homes for Unwed Mothers or to Mexico for abortions. I knew by junior high I never wanted to disappear like that. And I knew how to make sure I wouldn't. In those days not many parents gave the birds and bees talk. We had to figure it out in our own way. In my village I was fortunate to have a friend with parents that supplied a graphic book about boys and girls biology. I was very young when we would look at the pictures but I never forgot.

I always remember the part Gina Louden played on the GR book tour- Piper was pushing TRIG's stroller, and there was a toddler TRIG's approximate age and size wearing TRIG's jacket and hat.

I think it was a total setup. Sarah had been using Trig as her human shield at every stop on the book tour- the child was in Trig's stroller wearing Trig's clothes, being pushed by Trig's sister. (And by sister, I of course mean aunt)
I think Sarah wanted a journalist to say something, anything about Trig that day...simply so she COULD play the victim.
I don't really subscribe to any of the theories that Gina Louden had something to do with procuring Trig, although I do have to agree with the people who point out the startling resemblance between Trig and Samuel. It's really uncanny.

I was "seeing" my father's best friend when I was 16, he was 42. We kept up our affair even after he remarried and I had married for the first time. We still see each other after 32 years. The age difference was huge but we had a connection and had to wait until I was 16 (age of consent where I grew up). I only recently told my parents about it since they are no longer in contact, but they already knew, and couldn't have cared less, even when it was going on.

Most parents dream and train for first daughters to have another kind of independence and choices. Not all children continue to rebel after they are independent, 18. The Loudons would know siblings look up to the oldest child, they would train all their children in the same manner.
If Lyda has departed from her childhood training, it is typical of other Christian families with departed children. Coincidence? Is it possible that Lyda was born with the genes that make her have no choice, she is attracted to old men. Not older men, but old men, like an early grandfather figure. That would be in her at birth and have nothing to do with her training or what her family life was like growing up.

ReplyDeleteIf it wasn't for a similar situation, I wouldn't be here. My grandfather was a hunter in Italy, and while my grandmother was doing wash by hand in the river, he struck up a conversation.... met her parents and proceeded to date and eventually marry her. She was sixteen when they met, he was 57. They dated two years, then married and had my mom, aunt and uncle. She was widowed ten years later with three kids during WW2. He was an American citizen, and his kids inherited his citizenship. She got all three married and they all traveled by boat to this country. She never remarried and loved him something awful till the day she died.
ReplyDeleteIn this case, seeing and hearing Gina's strict rwnj rantings, this eighteen year old may be acting out to rebel against her mom. But the thing is, she's of legal age and there's not much her parents can do except quote the bible and threaten to disown her, which may be a "good thing". From what I read about this guy, he sounds like a real piece of scum.
