House Conservatives have no intention of following Sarah Palin's advice to impeach President Obama.

Courtesy of the National Journal:

President Obama will not be impeached—at least not this year. Despite a rallying cry in far-right media led by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, tea-party members of Congress on Tuesday echoed House Speaker John Boehner in saying they have no interest in pursuing an impeachment.

At their monthly "Conversations with Conservatives" luncheon, six of the House Republican conference's leading conservative voices rejected the possibility of impeachment outright. For one thing, they argue, there's not much time left in the term for a lengthy impeachment process. But they also suggested that the consequences of taking that kind of action against the president could be politically dangerous for the Republican Party.

Rep. Raul Labrador, R-Idaho, said he didn't believe that the president's actions have yet reached the level of impeachable offenses and argued that the party shouldn't "even be talking about impeachment at this time." Asked specifically about Palin's comments in a Fox News online column titled "The Case for Obama's Impeachment," Labrador noted that she, as a former governor, has more leeway to make such bold declarations and does not have to deal with the consequences. "[Palin] doesn't have the burden of leadership right now, and it's very easy for her to go on Fox News and make statements that she doesn't have to be accountable to anybody but herself," he said.

Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-S.D., added that political analysts who have looked at the possibility of an impeachment proceeding have found time and again that it would merely rile up the Democratic base, just in time for November's midterm elections. What's more, it could turn off independent voters who "right now are leaning our way," he added. "So if you want to help the Democrats keep control of the Senate, this would be the right way to do that," Huelskamp said.

Palin can bitch all she wants about impeachment from the safety of her ghostwritten Facebook page, but if there are no conservative House members willing to take it seriously then all she is doing is pissing into the wind.

And Huelskamp is right that there is really nothing that would guarantee a huge Democratic turnout in the 2014 midterms like an attempt to impeach President Obama.

So once again I say that either Sarah Palin is spending good PAC money on terrible advice, or she is a secret Democratic operative trying to destroy the Republican party from within.

"Rep. Boehner is set to waste millions of taxpayer dollars on a House Republican get out the vote effort."

And THIS is the party of fiscal conservatives that are going to save our economy???

HOW much money has been wasted on 50+ failed attempts to repeal the ACA and the IRS and Benghazi investigations?

How many poor children could that feed?

How many veterans could get medical care with that money?

How many bridges and roads could that money repair?

And yet they'll stand up in November and claim that THEY are the only party that can save our country from economic ruin.

When Sarah Palin gets ignored, she'll do everything in her power to damage the ignorer. The RNC ignored her, didn't invite her to the 2012 convention and she's on a personal vendetta right now. She'd destroy the GOP and Tea Party, and she'd even open the way for the Democratic Party to win, if it means avenging herself. The woman has only one road, and that is SHE is the One and she'll try to destroy anything that comes against her. She has no loyalties but only to herself.

  4. My take---she's a democratic operative. She has to be. No one would knowingly make themselves look so monumentally
daft in front of people. No one would actually say the smarmy things she says without it all being an act---You know because sane individuals don't act like that . . . .

    Eeeerrrrr, wait a minute. . . . . Never-mind.

    SHAME ON THEM!

Right-Wing Racists Take Up Arms Against Brown Immigrant Children (Video)

Over 50 people toting their penile extensions and waving American, Gadsden, and “Second American Revolution” flags paraded through the city of Vassar, MI–from city hall to Wolverine Human Services’ Pioneer Work and Learn Center, where up to 120 twelve to seventeen-year-old refugees from Honduras, El Salvadore, and Guatemala may be temporarily housed until their immigration cases–the ones provided by Bush-era legislation–can be heard.

Recently, many of these same people declared that “We want to live the American dream for our kids, not some kids who are dropped off in our lap,”and “I fear within two years of letting these immigrants in, [surgical] masks will become standard” because of diseases that residents irrationally fear that these children carry.

One resident suggested just blowing them up. “I support a minefield along the border,” said a Marine Corp veteran.

How come the GOP seems to have some 'conference' or another every blessed month? I don't see Democrats wasting time and money on these kind of events...why does the right have to prop up their supporters with speeches from has-beens and fundraisers featuring losing candidates who haven't yet found real jobs, so they are running again? It's non wonder that once they get elected, all they do is twiddle their thumbs and bray about Democrats. They really have no work ethic. None.

  8. So while we are on the topic of Bristol Palin and her Patheos blog, she recently posted a criticism of President Obama for asking a store clerk if he was gay, after the clerk said Equal Rights for all. Has BP forgotten her infamous encounter in Los Angeles when she accused, er, asked someone of being gay when the guy said something negative about her mom?

The question on the topic of this blog entry is, if they don't want to impeach now because it's politically dangerous will they want to impeach IF they should happen to win the majority in the Senate in the fall elections? Will they find impeachable offenses in January when they have said now that there are no impeachable offenses? Everyone reading this please remember in six months, they can't find impeachable offenses in July but miraculously they will find impeachable offenses in January of 2015. Our job is to get out the vote of friends, neighbors, and like-minded people to throw these frauds, hypocrites, misogynists, and racists out as rule makers for the rest of us. The House needs to do their damn jobs and quit wasting tax-payer money and time on a frivolous law suit that has no standing! Judge Judy would laugh in Boehner's face and have her bailiff escort him to the door.

Senate rules dictate that 67 Senators must vote to remove the President once the House has impeached him. There is no way the R's are going to have 67 seats in the Senate, so while the House could impeach by a simple majority as they did with Clinton, the votes are not there in the Senate to remove him from office.

How The Koch Brothers Are Buying Their Way Into The Minds Of Public School Students

...Though YE has avoided the public spotlight, the current structure of the program began to take shape in November 2009, documents show, when a team of associates at the Charles G. Koch Foundation launched an important project with Charles Koch's blessing: They would design and test what they called "a high school free market and liberty-based course" with support from members of the Koch family's vast nonprofit and political network. A pilot version of the class would be offered the following spring to students at the Wichita Collegiate School, an elite private prep school in Kansas where Koch was a top donor.

First, the Koch team chose its mascot: a golden eagle holding a knife in its beak. They also assigned each other nicknames: Ol' Mucky Terrahawk, Mighty Killer, Big Gay Mule, Midnight Bandit and the Erratic Assassin. The group dubbed itself the "Wu-Teach Clan."

Over the next six months, members of the Wu-Teach Clan exchanged hundreds of emails with one another and with Koch lieutenants. They hashed out a strategy to infiltrate public schools after surveys showed that the wealthy prep school students largely failed to absorb their libertarian message. We know all this because the Wu-Teach Clan used a Google group that it had left open to the public.

The emails show that Charles Koch had a hands-on role in the design of the high school curriculum, directly reviewing the work of those responsible for setting up the course. The goal, the group said flatly, was to turn young people into "liberty-advancing agents" before they went to college, where they might learn "harmful" liberal ideas.

The crowd happily let the President 'cut' the line and he then bought everyone's lunch. They have to work extra hard to make something like this look like some sort of crime or derelict duty. They are so petty and lame. Gives their pathetic lives something to grouse about as they have nothing better going for them.

Anyone know if the President ever went to one of those little gigs that give out celeb gift bags and took more than the 'one' allotted to each guest??? Didn't think so, that's the Palin way of doing things and I might add that mama griz has jumped every line she could, with or without permission. Like that college degree. Jumped ahead to a 'degree' without doing the work or fulfilling the credits to earn it. Friggin' pigs, the lot of them.
