A Missouri man reportedly told police that he shot his wife over the weekend because he was “tired of her.”
Ripley County Cpl. Earl Wheetley was called to a home in Naylor on Saturday evening where he found Carolyn Leonard “laying on the front porch covered in blood,” the Southeast Missourian reported.
The woman “stated her and her husband was arguing, and he shot her” in the shoulder, Wheetley wrote in an affidavit.
Her husband, 59-year-old Bobby Leonard, emerged from the trailer, and was handcuffed by Wheetley.
“I asked him if he had any weapons on him, and he stated, ‘No, the gun is in the house on the counter,’” Wheetley recalled.
In Alaska we used to call this a "Spenard divorce." Of course that is usually said by misogynist assholes.
Using guns to win an argument is what cowards do.
But at least this guy did not kill his entire family execution style like the guy in Texas.
Boy that 2nd Amendment is certainly making all of us much safer. Don't you think?

ReplyDeleteThe guy in Texas didn't kill his family. It was another family. The kids weren't his, they were the children of the 2 adults killed.
ReplyDeleteThe guy's wife had taken out a protective order against him, well before police say he sought her out. So in this case, the protective order worked, sorta. The wife will know the guy is in prison until he gets off Death Row. She only has to live with knowing about the other 6 dead people and the critically injured 15 year-old.
Some women are scared to get protective orders because situations similar to this seem to happen when the "protection" is in place.
"She will have to live with" as if it's her fault? She "will have to live with it no more than you or I do. She knew he was whacked and she acted to protect herself. Any guilt should be with him, others who didn't act,law enforcement, but most of all LaPierre and these other ammosexuals, gunfetishists, tiny penis syndrome assholes, and 2nd Amendemnt Constitutional illiterates like $carah.

C'mon, Gryph, don't you remember the term "Spenard Divorce"? Rednecks shooting their wives used to be a fairly common occurrence in some of the trashiest parts of our fair city.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame for the wife. She had to endure this asshat's method of "conflict resolution" because it's just too much of a hassle to file divorce papers. I'm sure, on some level, she knew this would happen someday, but wouldn't it be better to live in a cardboard box with your self esteem and integrity intact than to endure years with this nutjob?
