It's official -- Rosie O'Donnell is returning as a host for "The View."
The show tweeted out the news today saying, "ABC confirms Rosie O'Donnell returns as co-host of #TheView w/ moderator Whoopi Goldberg for Season 18."
The host is back after being on the show before from 2006 to 2007. While on the show, she famously clashed with Donald Trump and even some former "View" co-hosts like Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
I don't usually cover this kind of thing on IM, however since Palin set tongues a wagging about the possibility that SHE might like to join the show it made this news just too delicious not to share.
Not only is Rosie back on for sure, there is also talk that Meghan McCain might be offered a slot.
Now there is a truly evil side of me that wants desperately for Sarah Palin to feel the need to promote something that convinces her to be a guest on The View.
Simply the idea of Palin being interviewed by the likes of Rosie O'Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, and Meghan McCain is the kind of thing that liberal bloggers can only dream of having the opportunity to watch.
I love Rosie. People don't realize that she runs a theater school for underprivileged kids in the NYC area, and the kids are great! Rosie funds it with donations and her own money..you know, she uses her wealth to help other people. What a concept! She is also the biggest advocate for Broadway I know, and her own show was amazing for bringing on talented people that we outside of NYC might never have seen. I am so glad she's back. And McCain is no Hasselbeck. She has views, but she will not rant and rave like old Lizzie. She will discuss, which is what the show used to be about. I might have to start tuning in again...I haven't since Rosie was let go the first time.

DeleteI wonder if this is sour grapes in that Sarah's last "headliner" at "America's Last Stand" in TN there were less than 500 actual tickets sold. From the lack of coverage of this event I don't think there were many VIP Gold tickets sold at $1,000.00 a pop. To get to an average... 500 seats sold at the VIP price of $75.00 would gross $37,500.00 for the entire event. Since there were more tickets given away than sold, I'm thinking this is a fair assumption.
At least the President can speak coherently with full sentences. Sort of makes it a bit more worthwhile than hearing hearing disjointed bumper stickers being shrieked. The president will actually give a REAL interview to a real journalist in real time.
Watched the last half of "Game Change" last night along with assorted Youtubes of Sara's finest public moments.
Sara can be assured to one thing; her Katie Couric interview will live forever. The clips showing Saturday Night Live with her interview word for word are pure GOLD.
I've said it before: 100 years from now on Jeopardy a Daily Double question will be: "Who can see Russia from her house?" The answer will of course be: "Sarah Palin" followed by uncontrolled, rauchous laughter...

A few years back, we were showing NYC to visitors from europe, and my daughter spotted Rosie in front of the studio, she was kind enough to stop and talk to us, recommend places to see, etc. I'm sure she was busy, but she conversed with my daughter about topics on Rosie's blog for what seemed to be at least fifteen minutes. Our guests were really impressed. I asked her when Barbara leaves, and she said "I'm the only one that uses the front door", and she went on her way to speak with other fans. I never forgot how pleasant she was.

Reports are that one of Rosie's contract conditions was that NO reality show stars were to be hired as hosts. Rosie seems to be running the show and I suspect she decided that Sherrie and Jenny had to go. Rumor is Bill Geddy is out too. Rosie blogged after she left The View that she and Bill did not get along. She said he did the split screen and refused to go to commercial during her long debate with Elisabeth that made her decide to leave before her contract expired. Is there any possibility of someone publishing all the facts about Sarah that he learned while researching his book about Sarah that were not included in his book. An epilogue? Dis-Tasty tidbits?

I thought Bristol announced she and Joey were over, that was a month or more prior. The arrangement never appeared to be healthy or real.
