As far as heart problems, I highly doubt that is why it wasn't corrected. It's not a long complicated procedure at all. He might need several surgeries. His eye disorder is severe by the way so why are you calling it elective surgery?
According to your hero herself, Trig's heart problem was corrected a long time ago. It was a hole that was repaired. If you think fixing that eye is elective, then you are the dumbest asshole on the internet. Quit trying to pretend that you actually know them or that you know what you're talking about. DeleteMy mom had eye surgery (cataracts) at age 90 with severe congestive heart failure. There was no question of her having her eyesight restored, and the surgery was a breeze.
DeleteI had the surgery at age 2, in the EARLY 1950s for god's sake! In some cases you can correct a lot of the problem with glasses, like, worn religiously. Good luck with that in the Palin household. Also can be helped with very very tedious and demanding exercises. Good luck with a child with DS. So surgery is the way to go. And it should be done before he gets too old, or his brain and eye muscles will have a harder time getting the eyes to work together properly.

DeleteMartha, he had heart surgery as a toddler. It was just a small cardiac defect and luckily the procedure was a success. However, Sarah was so busy gettin' rill fay-mess in the lower 48, she couldn't even be bothered to return to Alaska for the surgery.

And poor Trig doesn't have 100% chance at doing anything if he isn't wearing his glasses. You don't have to be an eye doctor to see that the boy has a serious vision problem, and going without glasses won't fix it.
Add to this picture, Sarah's own words from her video (with the two Jewish boys from New jersey). Sarah said that she was getting ready to film a video about Trig's speech therapy which would help him be able to eat solid food. And, she bragged that he had never eaten a Cheerio.
If Trig wore his glasses, he would be able to see the Cheerios. It takes practice to get your hand to do what your eyes are seeing, namely, picking something up something small with your fingers. Then there is the trick of getting the hand to bring to Cheerio to the mouth. The cereal mushes up pretty fast, so it's easy to swallow. That's why babies who are 6 months old sit in their high chairs, learning how to pick up one Cheerio at a time and put it in their mouth. More end up on the floor and it's a mess, but that's how they learn. Each time, less ends up on the floor and more end up in the kid's mouth. That's called learning. Trig probably requires therapy to help him do this. And, he hasn't had any therapy What a pity. Babies don't do any thing perfectly the first time. They learn by repetition, doing it over and over. That's what therapy would accomplish for Trig, but he has been deprived of growing up and realizing his full potential.
The other pity was Sarah's admission that Trig was sleeping in the truck. He can't talk. When he wakes up, he cannot call for help. Was he locked in or could he open the door and get out? If he could open the door, that's dangerous because he could also open the door of a moving car or truck. Even if the window were opened a crack, the truck could over heat. Kids should not be left alone in a car, ever. Dogs shouldn't be left locked in a parked car, either.
Sarah and Todd chose the role of Trig's parents. They are responsible for his basic needs and care. Without therapy, they are depriving Trig of reaching whatever his full potential is. He doesn't wear his glasses. He probably needs hearing aids. He hasn't had therapy, and he's left in the truck. No parent should treat a child like that.
She wasn't bragging about the Cheerio thing, she was singling Trig out as somebody as different and odd as he could possible be from other kids -- never one Cheerio !! -- and she's stuck with him. She seems to like to mention this huge deficit (in her mind) and judge Trig negatively on it.

Sarah's lack of familiarity with Down Syndrome and what is normal or expected progress proves to me what an uninvolved parent she is. One of the problems I've often seen with parents of disabled children is that they will read anything and everything, believing that it all applies to their child. Sarah appears to think that a child being unable to eat solid food at the age of six years old is normal for DS. It's not. It can only be attributed to the lack of continual therapy since childbirth. I don't think Palin did anything for Trig for at least 2 years. IMO, she'd rather he not speak or communicate clearly so as to not be able to speak about what goes on at home. SMDH, no child deserves to be stuck with Palin as a mother. She's already proven what a failure she is as a parent and politician. Don't let her ruin Trig's life, too. He doesn't have the skills to fight back!

ReplyDeleteSarah's fans in the Pee Pond usually post her latest video. The last video that is posted there is yesterday's Ice Bucket Challenge, or Sarah's version of Patrick Stewart's classy video. Today, one of them linked to the You Tube video in a comment, a video which could be called, "Two Jewish boys from New Jersey drop in on Sarah Palin." Funny, that video isn't posted in the Pond in their special features department.
ReplyDeleteThey commented on it this morning and dropped it. All that was said that that it wasn't a good idea for Sarah to open her doors to strangers. It's interesting that they didn't discuss Sarah's video because they love to shower compliments on anything that she does.
Maybe the problem is that (1) it looked set up and fake (2) Sarah made some revealing remarks about Trig, needing speech therapy in order to develop facial muscles to eat solid food. (Sarah's didn't say" develop facial muscles." She probably doesn't understand what therapy does for a DS child). There also was the revelation that Trig was sleeping out there in the truck, the only time that he was angelic. No wonder they don't want to post this video and invite this kind of conversation.
It doesn't say much about a our society when a politician turned celebrity can publicly neglect her child, and prevent her child from therapies and post photos of him and her while she proudly looks on knowing he is suffering.

I've noticed that in almost all the pictures of her with Trig, she is barely touching him, if at all. When she does touch him, he seems to resist the contact and struggle against her.

I would imagine that a child with DS needs even more physical contact than most to help develop his kinesthetic awareness and skills. Too bad he has a mother who only seems to bother with him when she needs a photo op.

Why would a 6-year-old child fall asleep in a truck? He is no longer a toddler, he is a child! Most healthy kids do not take naps beyond 4-5. At least one of the Palins should commit to taking care of this sweet little boy!

DeleteI thought that in Sarah's video from her channel, she said that Trig did not meet the requirements to go to "normal school." (her words). Sarah probably meant that she wanted to mainstream him in the regular public school kindergarten. But, he had to be able to speak and I think that he had to be toilet trained or feed himself, maybe both. That's what prompted her to get the therapist, who saw things that Palin never saw. (That seemed to imply that Trig had not been seen by a therapist before).

As for his falling asleep in the truck, did Sarah say that he had just come home from school? The date on the You Tube video is Aug. 22. Has school started already in Alaska?

DeleteI can't speak for Alaska or other places but where I've lived children do not fall a sleep in class. Young children do take naps and some may sleep for a nap. I know of no one with kids that came home from school and fell a sleep. Not unless there was a problem and something out of the norm. If children were falling a sleep in class or they came home and crashed that would be an alarm to find out the problem.
Trig Palin might be controlled by medications that make him fall a sleep at unordinary times. Since the Palins have the public history they have, it would not be shocking he is on drugs of some type. We can't be sure if he sees a pediatrician or if so what is wrong with that doctor? It definitely must be looked into to find out if they are drugging the boy in order for him to perform according to the Palin Brand script.

DeleteIt's not impossible that the little boy has some low muscle tone which is often associated with Down Syndrome. Low muscle tone could explain the *floppiness* and might contribute to difficulties with eating solid food.
ReplyDeleteThat what the therapy is supposed to address. There are all kinds of exercises that therapists can get the child to do, in the sense of a game and fun while training those muscles. Athletes and dancers are not born that way. They train, sometimes hours a day. Think of Trig's therapy as training his muscles.

Chuck Heath gave a radio interview where he said that Trig watched cartoons (those animated animals) with the sitter. That's when Chuck also said that Trig was not toilet trained, could not eat solid food and probably could say about 3 or 4 words. That was earlier this year, and it is consistent with what Sarah said in her video. And it's pathetic.

DeleteAs for college, Willow might have completed two years of high school, did some home schooling requirements and got a GED. Ditto for Track. He left his Michigan High School (where he went for hockey) because of an injury, but he never seemed to finish in Wasilla. They take them in the military without a high school diploma. Bristol missed a great deal of high school when she was pregnant with Tripp and when she had that 5 month mono thing. Yet, she managed to pose for a high school graduation photo for People Magazine holding a piece of paper (a diploma, really?) and Tripp. Seriously, I doubt that Bristol got anything more than a GED, thanks to her mother being governor.
None of those kids have any interest in going to school. Willow didn't want to have to get up early to go to hair school in Alaska, which is why she went in Arizona. Bristol chose skin care in Arizona because it was only 3 days a week. None of them sound interested in working hard or learning anything. Sarah gets by with her "charm offensive," not because of any qualifications. Isn't it funny that when Sarah was Governor of Alaska, the University of Idaho never invited her to address a graduating class. The only classes that Sarah addressed were small town high school graduations.
Apparently Sarah forgot the fact that she told the press that she had saved each child's checks from the APF for college for them. LOL, I'll bet she spent them as soon as she got her grubby hands on them. Somebody had to fund those daily trips to Nordstrom's! Sarah tells so many lies that she can't remember all of them. So, Sarah, what is it you spent the kids APF checks on?

The only people that do well in those situations are the top echelon. They can make in the multi-millions. Sarah also uses her family, quid pro quo or what have you. I do and the leaves aren't changing in Southcentral Alaska yet, but it has been cool and rainy. Not exactly shorts and western-style hat weather. So I am thinking the photo wasn't taken recently and wasn't taken in Alaska. Weren't there some boat pictures from Lake Mead or Lake Powell earlier this year? This photo reminded me of those.

Most of those pictures you don't see Sarah with Trig. This must have been a quickie to 'prove' what a devoted mother she is.
Since she abuses her prop all over the country isn't this a federal child protection problem? I know it is a different matter when you take a child wrongfully across state lines. It becomes a FBI (not only Ak branch) matter. I'm not saying he is kidnapped. But there is no known documentation that even proves Trig Palin is with his rightful adopted family.

I know there are laws that protect children from Human Trafficking for labor and other reasons. We need to at least find out Trig's situation and why he is not getting therapy and needs met. Why is the abuse of Trig Palin allowed to go on in any state in the country?
She may have spent as long as 30 seconds with Trig to get that shot during the luxury family vacation. But she never put down her phone! That's Sarah! And proof of an engaged self centered narcissist. They were all looking pretty high that week end. She probably rushed in and sat down so fast he had no time to focus on who it was. There is no indication in other photos of that day that she had anything more to do with him.

ReplyDeleteDuring the 2008 presidential campaign, the McCain Family and the Palin Family posed together for a group photo for the cover of People Magazine. In the initial grouping, Sarah was front and center, and Bristol was put in the back row, holding Trig, with a baby blanket covering her. John McCain was overheard to lose his temper. (He was famous for blowing his top). He barked at Sarah not to give proof to the rumors that were circulating around out there. Bristol stayed in the back row, minus the blanket that covered her pregnancy and minus Trig. Sarah held Trig for the photo that showed up on the cover.
ReplyDeleteWhen Sarah neglects Trig this badly and admits to it in several videos, she gives does give proof to the fact that she did not give birth to Trig. It is hard to imagine giving birth to a special needs child and not feeling those strong pangs of mothering and wanting to care for the child and do the best for him. I know, I am writing about a mother and father who neglected their other children, the ones who were involved in vandalism, breaking and entering, a teen pregnancy out of wedlock. That's one messed up family. Maybe it was the way Sarah was raised. Maybe she is so self-involved that she only uses her kids as props. I can't help but think that a real birth mother would be more involved with her most precious gift from God. (Sarah's description of Trig).

That's when Chuck also said that Trig was not toilet trained, could not eat solid food and probably could say about 3 or 4 words. This is really disrespectful and creepy. I went to look for the original video which is called Chillin' with Sarah Palin in Alaska. The guy who posted it, Alexander Medjuck also posted a video that would make any Jew want to turn those two idiots over to Hamas. They are truly disrespectful of their own religion.
ReplyDeleteThe video was published on Aug. 24, but our guy claims that it's 7:30 AM on Sunday morning, which should be the 25th. The religious ceremony that they perform is the Havdalah, said at end of the Sabbath, which would be late Saturday night. (You have to wait so long after the sunset, usually until the first star appears). But these idiots are doing it in their hotel room on Sunday morning. Ooops, I guess they forgot Saturday night.
The guy praying reads the prayer from his iphone, and then in a ritual that I have never heard about, he chugged a plastic cup of beer (in honor of the IDF, the Israel Defense Forces). Even worse, he points his finger towards his head as if to say, "Shoot me," while chugging. Yes, he chugs it all down, quite a lot of beer. They are already pretty drunk.
That is not how the end of the Sabbath is usually acknowledged. Adding even more insult, the guy taking the video asks the beer chugging guy (Alex), "Who do you nominate?" Answer, "I nominate Sarah Palin to drink an entire chug of beer. And for Todd Palin (laughter) to go fishing after, and get her some herring. (Jews love to eat herring).

Chillin's with Sarah Palin and chugging beer are his only two videos. And please explain how he posted the video of his visit to Sarah Palin when both boys are IN the video. Who was filming them, Todd, was that you? I thought that they were college kids, from their drunken immature behavior, but Alex currently is the CEO of his own ad company. He had previous advertising and marketing jobs. Yeah, Sarah, you sure did attract some classy visitors. If this is what they posted, I wonder what they said when the phone wasn't recording them.
That was a strange video. They made a mockery of a Jewish ritual that's done on Saturday night after the Sabbath (Shabbos) is officially over, which is 30 minutes after sunset (for the Orthodox). It's usually done with wine and a candle that has more than one wick. Sounds to me like they were making fun of Sarah and Todd! Challenging Todd to go fishing and get Sarah some herring was hilarious!

DeleteI'm a loyal IM fan, but I do have to say that I think it's a cute picture. I don't think she looks fat, and he doesn't look like he's about to hit her. However, when I zoomed into his eyes and put my hand over each one at a time, I saw what it means to be so seriously cross-eyed. His left eye is looking at her, and his right eye looks about 90 degrees off. Ouch. I have a headache just looking at those eyes.

I know a couple who had a DS child. Bristles must have neglected to inform $carah of that little tidbit of information and whatnot.
DeleteIt just occurred to me that aside from pure laziness and neglect, Sarah has a very good reason for not getting therapy and surgery for that poor little boy. If he could see clearly, if he could talk well, if he learned to understand life and the world, even just a little, he would be a severe threat to her and the rest of the family. How would she keep his mouth shut and keep him from spilling the beans to anyone who would listen?

DeleteUnfortunately for Trig, There was a small window in which his eye condition could have been corrected, when he was younger.
I believe the neglect (not correcting eye problem, no therapy) was purposeful, after all its all about Sarah. She is so stupid (remember she has a really really low IQ) and such a psychopath that it would never occur to her there are other families in the world with a special needs child that know she is lying.
I keep wondering if he even has been diagnosed with down syndrome by a real doctor, not willow-there are other types of learning disabilities and certainly not being able to see correctly would prevent him from learning.
Come to think of it we only have Sarah's word that he hasn't eaten a cheerio and we know if her lips are moving, she is lying.
Is this the same kid that as a newborn there is the photograph of Levi holding him at the hospital? The one where Levi is wearing I believe a green shirt, his hair tips are bleached and he's wearing a hospital bracelet so he can be there to hold "Sarah Palin's" baby that she just gave birth to?

ReplyDeleteYes, it may take a campaign of some sort. Letters to the editors, institutions that are involved, pediatricians, other Alaskan legislators, medical personnel, educators. This is a matter for the entire state and local areas that are shunning a child that needs protection.
The families and citizens in Missouri are getting attention because they are NOT quietly slithering away and hoping the light shines on someone else. In Missouri they are organizing for someone who is dead and can't stand up for himself. Elsewhere in Missouri they are going to welcome Sarah Palin to perpetuate her crimes and try to collect money off of that. What's wrong with that picture? Of course, business as usual in Wasilla is to say and do little. They must protect the fraud for various selfish reasons. They can't even question or mention Dr. Cathy and the wild ride. They are told about the neglect of Trig and how it destroys and harms his life. Yet, they will do nothing positive for him?
