How many cultures came to know and understand Christianity.

Those comfortably ensconced in the protective shell of Christianity see the religion as spreading salvation and hope to primitive indigenous people around the world.

But for those who are subjected to the most aggressive religious campaign in human history, the view is quite different.

The underlying subtext of Christianity is crystal clear. Join us, or perish.

Western Civilization colonized indigenous peoples around the globe by grifting for gold in the name of God, with guns.

Biblical New Testament Christianity (the red words of Jesus) was co-opted for worldly power and wealth by the Manifest Destiny mind-set crew. American exceptionalists continue on this road to perdition, IMO.

  4. There have always been a group of Christians who believe that people need to be converted one way or the other.

    Genocide, torture... whatever it takes.

Belief can be a really scary thing.

This is why I don't like missionaries, and they never see that they are forcing their beliefs on someone else who already has a religion. It's the missionaries who have no tolerance or respect for other cultures and religions.

I had someone I work with ask me to support her mission, and I told her I don't support mission, because I think they are wrong and she was flabbergasted. And even though I explained my position in a calm and non-threatening manner, she is so brainwashed that she thought I have no tolerance (for Christians, of course).

Reminds me of the clip you posted awhile back "This land is my land", but on a much larger scale. What was done to the native peoples of the world, in the name of missionaries for religion is unforgivable. As well as the "good" done in the name of religion. The RCC;s motto is "What's in it for me?" Not only have they stolen riches and taken the spoils of war as their own, they brainwashed people to remain faithful, while ignoring the bad the church has done.
