Xenophobe Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) is confronted by two Dreamers, and gets schooled.

Courtesy of HuffPo:

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) had a tense confrontation with two Dreamers in Iowa that was captured on video and posted to YouTube on Monday.

The video's description identifies the pair as Erika Andiola and Cesar Vargas. In the video, Andiola approaches King and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), telling them she's a Dreamer who's originally from Mexico but was raised in the United States and is a graduate of Arizona State University. (Paul quickly got up and left.)

"I know you want to get rid of DACA, so I want to give you the opportunity 'cause you really want to get rid of it, just rip mine," Andiola tells King as she hands him her identification card. "Go ahead and do that."

DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, exempts many undocumented immigrants who arrived as children from deportation for a renewable two-year period and allows them to work in the United States. King voted on Friday for a bill that would end the program.

"I just don't understand why you've been wanting to do that," Andiola says to King, who then stands up to confront the woman.

"You're very good at English," King says as he grabs Andiola's hand. "You know what I'm saying."

"I was raised in the United States," Andiola replies.

"Right, so you can understand the English language," King replies.

You know the only thing I found more striking than the condescending attitude that Rep. King uses (Why does he keep asking her if she understands English?), and his groping of the woman while trying to get her to stop talking, is how quickly Rand Paul makes a break for it.

At the 20 sec mark Paul jumps up like he is running out on the check and gets the hell out of Dodge before he can be asked any embarrassing questions on camera.

As someone sang yesterday, "Rand on the run, Rand on the run.....

I bet we will never see Rand wearing THAT rainbow striped shirt again, it was easy to follow his escape!! Did King check these two Dreamer's calves, to see if they were the size of "watermelons from running drugs across the border"??

There's also a mashup of Rand & Brave Sir Robin floating around, too.

As for Steve King, he's a world class asshole. 'Nuff said there.

Rand Paul said he had another interview that he forgot to get to until that moment. Uh huh. Tell us more non-truth, Mr. Stretchy. Or maybe it's Mr. Waffling. Or maybe Mr. Pandering. Or maybe Mr. Always Changing His What He Did History and Reality as he thinks people are that stupid.

Notice he went on friendly Greta's show to give his excuse. Waiting for some video of that interview, Mr. Ethics.

Erika Andiola was impressive, I loved her "you want my card? Take it, tear it up". Steve King came across as a condescending bully who couldn't handle a direct confrontation with a logical, articulate Dreamer. Rand Paul is a coward.

Males maintain/elevate their status by having (among other things) other males observe the behavior of females around them. A male needs pretty/popular females to express admiration. A male needs plain/unattractive females to express subservience. A female not meeting these criteria via voice or body language is a threat.

Steve King's reaction to what he perceived as aggression was an attempt to maintain/elevate status within the male hierarchy. A lifetime of successful use of this strategy is self-sustaining. I think his brain cannot be re-wired.

Erika Andiola will undoubtedly re-wire many people she encounters, though. She is a hero.

Spot on. Did you notice the many ways King attempted to diminish her presence? The hand holding, the leaning over her, the obscenely condescending talk about her ability to speak English. What an asshole this man is and how highly he regards himself is so evident in his bearing.

Rand jumped up so quickly while still swallowing his food. I wished he had choked on it. These GOP legislators, national or state, are such embarrassments to any rational American. What has happened to the GOP? Too much Koch juice?

If we'd judge people based on character instead of citizenship, I'd keep the Dreamers and kick out the crazy GOPers.

America needs more citizens like Ms Andiola, and would certainly do better without the likes of King and Paul.

This question shuts them the fuck up every time:

Who would you rather have as a fellow citizen, an illegal alien who is willing to lay his life on the the line for our country, or a teabagger who wants to secede from our country?

I'm no teaparty person, but I don't think I have heard any teabaggers say they want to secede from the country. I can also say I have never been a fan of having non-US citizens serving in the armed forces. Basically that is a stupid question that really doesn't exist and has never never shut anyone the fuck up. You need to realise who your fellow US citizens are and find a way to work with them.

8:34 It's apparent you don't know about Sarah and Todd Palin - Alaska. Todd was in a group in Alaska that wanted it to be removed from the USA!

And, when Sarah was 'quitter' governor, she actually gave a speech to the group as governor of the State of Alaska!

And, remember, they are extreme Teabaggers.

There you go 8:41/8:52, throw around your insults, does that make you feel better little boy. Already told you I'm not a teabagger, but keep trying with your tiny brain to get to me. Insults and lame attempts at bullying- from the liberal openminded crowd at IM no less. Go figure. If you actually read my post, the question can't be answered, because it is nonsensical- I havent seen or heard of a contingent of teabaggers or teabagger groups wanting to secede, have you?

Sarah is one of the titular leaders of the Tea Party. She was, after all, the keynote speaker at their inaugural convention in Nashville.

Nice try, but it's too late to disavow her now.

After all, Sarah is invited to speak at major Tea Party candidates rally's to this day.

      Hello? 8:34.

As far as I understand NON US CITIZENS can enlist in the army as long as they hold permanent resident status. You realize we spell realize like this, R-E-A-L-I-Z-E here in the U.S. Were you raised here in the U.S.? As far as teabaggers go...their ideology has spurred many secessionists. Clive Bundy and his supporters for example, they probably adhere to many of the teaparty beliefs.

I would like to point out that of these educated young people, obviously excellent Americans, are going to be judged on "the breaking of the law" by their parents then each and every white person is here illegally. Since we can put it on parents, then lets go back and put it on ALL your ancestors.
So, I would like to say, GO HOME, GO HOME, GO HOME.
    GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!

Wrong. Most of the people you are referring to entered the country legally under the US immigration laws. If you are referring to Native American land rights- well that really is a whole separate issue isn't it.

      Delete
    2. Anonymous9:44 AM

:13 WRONG. Unless your relatives were invited by the Native Americans, followed their laws and rules, you are here illegally. In fact, most of those uninvited immigrants killed the citizens of this country and took over, no green card, no visa. It's not a whole separate issue, unless it's suites your purpose, right? Revisionist history.

Ok for you, but not ok for the brown people seeking a better life, huh?

      Delete
    3. Anonymous10:17 AM

It is not revisionist history. Nobody is denying that white man came in and fought and killed or swindled the Native Americans tribes, and took control of the land. To suggest that the Native American tribes had some sort of common immigration law or centralized government control is a joke. If you feel so guilty about it you can give all your money and property to the Indians and leave the country.

You know NOTHING about any tribal law or tribal agreements, there were many laws before you whites came here. Your laws are nothing but revisionist history so get a fucking clue or educate yourself on each tribes rights/laws and then each tribal agreement between tribes. And like I said, get off my fucking lawn. And maybe you should educate yourself , also too, on the FACT that each tribe in Mexico has had ancestors on this soil that is now called the USA long before you pasty white self important killers showed up.
But like a typical white man you only go by what you think are laws and what you think are immigration laws, but you you think your pale ass gives you some kind of benefit, but it sure did'nt give you any brains.
