rEVILution: The Rise of Right-Wing Terrorism. Perhaps the most frightening 32 minutes of your day.

Courtesy of AATTP:

A 30 minute YouTube video documents the various plots, murders, and attempted murders carried out by members of these groups, and others who are sympathetic to their cause.

Using mostly video from news sources, the documentary, called “rEVILution: The Rise of Right-Wing Terrorism,” lays out a timeline of violence committed by right-wing ideologues over the past six years. All of the incidents that made headlines are there, including:

Jerad Lee Loughner’s attempted murder of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, an act he called an “assassination.”

Paul Ciancia, who opened fire in a terminal at Los Angeles International Airport last November.

The “Hutaree Militia,” nine of whom were arrested in a plot to kill police in an attempt to start a war against the federal government. (Most of the charges against them were eventually dismissed due to lack of evidence.)

The video also presents some cases of anti-goverment violence that didn’t get major attention nationally, such as “sovereign citizen” Jerry Kane. Kane and his son were caught on a police officer’s dash cam video after a traffic stop in Arkansas. During the stop, a confrontation ensues. Joe Kane jumps out of the minivan he and his father were traveling in, and fires multiple shots with an AK-47, killing two West Memphis, Arkansas police officers.

Mixed with these examples of right wing terrorists, the video also presents clips of what some believe provide the inspiration for some of these killers: right wing media.

The video is chilling to be sure.

And though some may suggest that it is somewhat sensationalized, the truth is that much of what it is saying is dead on the money.

We are in desperate times right now, and things are only going to get worse, before they get better.

If you research the connection between mass shooters and ideology, there is none. In fact, I think Loughner was registered as a democrat, but wasn't really political at all. Sounds like it is sensationalized.

The NRA doesn't care what party they are, no. Nor how violently BSC. It's happy to outfit anyone with a massive private arsenal that will blow schools full of children and teachers away. But tell us how many "private militias" aren't teabagger assholes, 'k?

      Waiting.

Actually, you're wrong. He was registered as an independent, and how can reality sound sensationalized when it HAPPENED? Go away troll, go away.

You are blind to reality. Go read reports on religious extremism in this country and hate groups. There are a few far left groups listed (mostly environmental related), but by far, the most dangerous groups are on the far right. There are lists of hate groups at the Southern Poverty Law Centers website.

4:19 AM You are wrong about Loughner "not being political at all". He was reported to hate Rep. Gabby Giffords. That was why he went to her "Congress on a Corner" appearance. And as a reminder, his actions were just after Sarah Palin's posted her crosshairs map, then Rep. Giffords appeared on TV saying those maps were going to cause violence. Loughner not political? He was an Ayn Rand fan, listened to Alex Jones, had ties to a white supremacy group. Not political?

Is that you, Sarah? Trying to deflect from Loughner being political?

And they vilified Janet Napolitano in 2009 for the Homeland Security report on right wing extremists.

So, would anyone in the GOP care to apologize to former Secretary Napolitano now?

They vilified her because she was right. The Southern Poverty Law Center tracks extremist groups; the right wing crazies have really come out of the woodwork since President Obama was first elected in 2008!

I'm waiting to see if spokesperson Sarah Palin would be addressing her peoples in that video but couldn't watch the whole thing.

It's scary but the beheading video from ISIS frightens me more.
All religious extremism is bad in my opinion. And the polarization in our government is leading us to very scary times.

Yet you defend Islam as the "peaceful religion."
Death to all infidels / non believers doesn't sound more peaceful than these right wing extremists.
On a world level, radical Islam is a much more serious threat. But it's also a threat here, in this country.

Radical Islam is a mere drop in the U.S. bucket full of radical Christian crazy.

I don't think anyone has defended radical Islam on this site. In this country, far right pseudo-Christian hate groups are a real and present danger. The KKK has a long history of violence and hatred, nothing remotely "Christian" about them.

I have always held Sarah Palin in the category of a right-wing terrorist.

I refuse to watch any more of these videos.
I honestly believe, that the NRA and GOP as well as the KKK are working together, because they are all mainly strong in the South - and the South has never gotten over the fact that they had to give up slavery.
Now since the last 30 or so years, we are having private, for-profit, prisons. The inmates in those prisons are VERY low paid workers. And guess what: those workers are mostly BLACK. Those workers are paid so low, and treated so badly, they are SLAVES. Just like in the 'good old days'!
Only now, this slavery, is sanctioned by our government.
Time to wake up and smell the coffee, and call a spade a spade!

Knowledge is Power, and the more people who watch clips like this, the more we'll all learn and find a way to overcome this pariah on our nation and the world.
In a similar vein, we watched a documentary called "erasing hate", when a former gang member/ white power neo nazi, changed his heart and teamed up with a doctor who removes gang/hate tattoos gratis. It's a long, tedious, and most painful process, and to see a man change so drastically along with the effect it has on his family and friends is truly amazing.
We can't ignore it or stick our heads in the sand, or the terrorists win.
