Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey
Armed members of the police force reportedly raided a church in Ferguson, Missouri, on August 24. The church is the same one where civil rights activist Rev Al Sharpton spoke on August 16.
The Greater St. Mark Family Church provides shelter and first aid to demonstrators in Ferguson, who come to protest the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown.
During the raid, Ferguson police confiscated all the Maalox, a perfectly legal over-the-counter anti-acid used to help ease the pain and lessen the side effects of tear gas.
One of the community leaders present during the raid, Phillip Agnew, described the events in an interview with Rev. Dr. Pamela Lightsey.
Agnew said armed police entered the church where community members, church members and children were peacefully gathered. The only thing they appeared to have seized during the raid were the first aid supplies.
When asked what justification the police gave for taking Maalox, Agnew replied:
Those of is with brown/dark skin have always known this to be the true Miranda. It's only now others are finding out. Welcome to my America where I fear getting pulled over by the Police . I am followed in stores so often if i need help i ask the security person within an arms reach. smh
This isn't a "new" miranda's rights, it's the same old separate but unequal one. It's a sad commentary on events in this country that should no longer be happening. Today was my Daughter's first day at the dorms for her second year, there were tons of tee shirts with his image and the words "No Justice, No Peace" and "Know Justice, Know Peace" in reverse on the other side, If kids of all colors "get it", why is this still happening?
Wow. Just wow.

Whoa. I've been having to remind myself that this is 2014 not 1962....
