Fox News host Shepard Smith just lost a bet to give White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest "every penny he will ever make" at Fox News. See? This is why I don't gamble.

Just in case you did not hear that clearly, here is a transcript of the exchange courtesy of Newscorpse:

Earnest: We are going to have Muslim majority countries, Muslim led countries, as part of this coalition. This is not going to be the United States against ISIL. This will be the international community, including the Muslim world, against these extremists.

Smith: Like Saudi Arabia’s going to have some boots over there, or Jordan.

Earnest: Well, I will let the individual members of the coalition announce the commitments that they’re prepared to make.

Smith: There will be no commitment from those two. On this I will bet every penny I will ever make at this network.

Earnest: That’s a substantial bet.

Smith: It is a big bet, and it is a good bet, because it’s not going to happen and the whole world knows it.

That was from last week, and now as all of you undoubtedly now know the President launched air attacks against ISIL. And the Pentagon issued this report as to who provided support in the fight:

U.S. military forces and partner nations, including Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, undertook military action against ISIL terrorists in Syria overnight, according to a U.S. Central Command news release.

Wait, Saudi Arabia AND Jordan?

But that would mean that Shepard Smith is now working for Fox News without compensation, as all of that now goes to Josh Earnest. I mean unless Smith is not a man of his word that is.

What am I saying? He works for Fox News. Those people are overflowing with integrity.

Right?

Speaking of news reporters who DO FINALLY get it right! She pushes right back on those vague right wing talking points, with FACTS and FIGURES!

CNN Host Grills GOP Rep. Blackburn: What More Could Obama Be Doing Against ISIS?

...Blackburn told Banfield that military leaders are urging the president to take a “more aggressive” position against ISIS, but again did not mention specifics. “I hear you, but I’m just not sure I understand what you’re saying though,” Banfield said. “What’s more aggressive than 47 tomahawk cruise missiles, four dozen aircraft, 200 pieces of ordinance, about 150 weapons with precision-guided munitions, all in just two days?”

“You’re saying the president needs to use ‘more force’ and be ‘more aggressive,’” the host said, “using what?”

  3. Somebody mentioned earlier that there is a good chance that Earnest KNEW what was happening behind the scenes with the coalition.

Which kind of makes you wonder how he kept a straight face while responding with "That's a substantial bet."

Of course, Earnest wouldn't have talked about a coalition if it wasn't going to happen which further highlights Smith's stupidity and disrespect.

Earnest, though, didn't agree to the bet so Smith should donate his salary to charity. May I suggest that the Human Rights campaign would be a good choice for Smith.

Fox reporters have no objectivity and so no journalistic integrity. I just ignore them and play a game with myself when I meet people who spout weird hogwash theories as to whether they listen to Fox, Limbaugh or Beck. Sometimes it is a lot fun to seek out the provenance of some of the rumor mongering! Most of the time it just says a lot about the poor critical thinking skills of the person who listens to these shills.

    3. And here we have a stereotypical example of why fux newz reporters are not only vacuous and vicious, but just plain stupid- they talk out of their asses. Constantly. If they would even take one minute to google the issues they talked about, they wouldn't be known as such a fanatical, harebrained bunch.

I thought Shep Smith was one of the good ones that helped provide a small amount of legitimacy for Fox News. That interview, stupid analysis, bravado, and bet shows Smith to be worthless as a reporter. Disappointing.

FOX is full of pompous ass supposed reporters!!! When will FOX learn that they always get knocked backwards when it comes to the successes of President Obama?

And, his success is even more outstanding because our wonderful POTUS is doing it all w/o the help of a shitty U.S. Congress. He's been forced to go things on his own (within the law which has been verified by the attorneys serving in his Administration).

Every U.S. Congress man and woman should be voted out of office. They haven't done a damned thing except name Post Office Buildings since our President Obama was eleted. Screw them! Their pay and benefits, provided by we taxpayers, should be taken away from each and very one of them when they close down their operation and do nothing!!!

I detest the group! Boehner, McConnell, McCain especially!!!

Love him and am delighted I cast my ballot for him both times!

Just another Fox News blowhard cock knocker like his big mouth pal Sean Hannity, he of the "water boarding isn't torture and I'll prove it by having it done to me," boast to Keith Olberman, of course never following up or even mentioning it again. These two blow jobs ought to date each other.

The "folks at Fox News" simply ooze with integrity.

    That statement is half true.

  10. Oh, he'll find a way to renege. Say it wasn't a firm bet. Say he was mis-quoted. Say Earnest never stated he was accepting the bet or offered counter terms should Earnest lose. Or demand proof that both Saudi Arabia and Jordan have joined the partnership. After all, we only have the Pentagon's word on it. They could be saying that just so Earnest wins the bet.

But rest assured. Earnest won't see one penny of that money.

    1. I'm betting it'll be a simple, obnoxious "obviously that wasn't a legitimate wager". And/or...he will immediately claim "the other side" was privy to details he wasn't. I swear, I'm expecting him to liken it to when someone dumps stock on a tip. They're all insufferable. I am constantly in a state of shock that anyone, anywhere (much less hundreds of thousands) considers this to be an actual "news source".

Bless his gay little heart. Shepard needs to re-think his strategy and whether he wants to be on fox fake news. He's on the wrong side of the fence and he knows it. PUT HEAT on the whitehouse, PUT HEAT on the whitehouse, regurgitate again and again. Its becoming so tiresome.

  14. Quoting from the post::

"Smith: Like Saudi Arabia’s going to have some boots over there, or Jordan.

Earnest: Well, I will let the individual members of the coalition announce the commitments that they’re prepared to make.

Smith: There will be no commitment from those two. On this I will bet every penny I will ever make at this network."

    "Some boots."

The link to the report says, "Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates also participated in or supported the airstrikes against ISIL targets. All aircraft safely exited the strike areas."

Unfortunately for Smith he wasn't too articulate and didn't say "boots on the ground." Because the Saudis apparently didn't have boots on the ground, but they had 'boots in the air" just as we do in Iraq.

So, even if he claims that he meant there'd be 'no commitment from them' to put boots on the ground, he didn't say that. And, they did put boots in the air.
