He's had 50 town halls and is the only candidate in the race to put forward positive, conservative solutions. He is the breath of fresh air Louisianans crave, and the polling data is reflecting that."
"I’m so glad ‘The Great One’ Mark Levin agrees and has jumped on board for Col. Maness, and I hope others will follow suit!” she stated.
Palin has been Maness’ most high profile and powerful supporter, and her backing comes amid a difficult year for grassroots conservative candidates.
It should be noted that in the very latest CBS/NYT/YouGov poll Maness only managed to garner 4% of the support. The poll was taken on October 5th, which was the day before Palin posted this graphic to her Facebook page:
Not that it matters because even given Maness the benefit of the doubt on that 17% he still trails both Landrieu and Cassidy by double digits.
Which begs the question, "Why is Palin so fixated on this losing race in Louisiana?"
Good question. Right now there is almost certainly going to be a runoff between Landrieu and Cassidy, which most pollsters seem to believe favors Cassidy, so a few more percentage points for Maness really does not seem to mean anything in the grand scheme of things.
And if Palin keeps on pimping this guy with such determination it is only going to further damage her brand after he comes in at third place so far back from the pack.
So I am kind of at a loss at this point.
Perhaps Maness' campaign or one of the tea party PACs is paying Palin out of the same budget they'd use to print flyers or buy radio/tv ad time.

DeletePalin has to stay"relevant" in the elections in order to justify her slush fund, I mean her PAC. Posting an endorsement doesn't cost Sarah anything. I think that she travels to a place where the candidate will pay for her expensive first class travel, or at least a good chunk of it. Sarah should have a full time job, campaigning for all of the Republican candidates. But they didn't invite her to the 2012 convention, and Sarah seems to side with the extreme Tea Party conservatives, not the Republicans.

The dollars in this fund are then invested into the market and it is the interest earned from Fund dollars that is divided each year and disbursed to all resident Alaska who apply for the Permanent Fund Dividend, the principal is never touched, only the interest is paid out.

With the Permanent Fund the dividends and profits are split amongst the applicants. Socialism? Yes. Life-changing money? No. For instance, this year, in my tax bracket, I'll end up giving $650 of that $1884 to Uncle Sam in Federal Taxes. So yeah, most of us end up with an extra house payment or a new fridge or TV, but seriously, unless you have 10 kids you can't even take a vacation on that kind of money.

DeleteFor the Anony who lacks in AK History. The AK constitution says that the natural resources of the state belong to the citizens. Not the State. Not the oil and gas companies. The PFD is a way that the Alaskan resource owners, i.e., residents of AK, get paid for their resources. The PFD amounts created from tax revenue from the resource extractors that is invested in a diverse portfolio. The amount of a yearly PFD payment is based on a 4 years average of the profits made off that portfolio. Therefore the average amount of payment is affected by oil prices - because the taxes are based upon that - and the stock market.
