Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Perspective.
In America white folks don't riot for justice.
But let their favorite sports team win? Well then it's clearly time to set some cars on fire and kick in a few storefront windows.
The only time I was ever in a large crowd for a sport team win the crowd was well behaved. 1987 MN Twins win the World Series. Though I was dumb. I climbed a traffic light at the corner of Hennepin Ave. and S. 9th Street. I didn't damage it, though sober, I could have damaged myself falling off of it climbing up it or down it or while I was sitting on it. Stupid things people do when they're young or still young (I was 31).
When the MN Twin won in 1991, I stayed home.
Minnesota has also had sports team violence in the early 2000s with some Univ of Minnesota students. Also a riot earlier this year when their team lost. I think it'd be safe to say that it was probably a white riot considering (according to wiki) the Univ. of Minn. is
The racial/ethnic breakdown of the student population is as follows: 75% White, 3% Black, 9% Asian, 3% Hispanic/Latino, 3% Two or more races, 1% Other, and 6% Non-resident alien
Exactly. Great cartoon.
ReplyDeleteSomething I recently bookmarked (below). 11 Stupid reasons white people riot. Yes, their sports teams win, or lose, or for other reasons.
