3 year old shoots and kills man, because you know guns do that.

Courtesy of KXII:

Family and friends are mourning the death of a former Stringtown and Murray State College basketball player.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokespersons said the 23-year-old man was accidentally shot Friday by a 3-year-old.

Family members were at a home on Wells Street in Stringtown, and were sighting-in a rifle, when one of the children reached over and pulled the trigger, shooting Brown in the neck.

Just a reminder that guns make perfectly harmless people incredibly dangerous.

And now this child has to live their entire live knowing that they killed a man even before they learned what death was.

Will this child be told that guns don't kill people, people do?

But, but, but guns don't kill people; people kill people. (eye roll)

This wasn't an accident. It was colossal neglect and stupidity. They were sighting in a rifle? What exactly were they going to shoot at the home right then and there that required the gun to be loaded even though it was within reach of a small child?

What was the imminent life-threatening situation that presented more of a danger than a small child having access to that loaded gun? I'm sure these responsible gun-owners weighted the risks carefully and after much thought decided that the need to have the gun loaded and ready outweighed the risk that a small child might grab and misuse the gun, right?

  6. I call bullshit on the three year old reaching over and shooting
this man. An adult is sighting a weapon and a small child is able to what----leap up and get past their arm and shoot someone?

Too many small children pulling triggers these days for my liking. Or are they? The gun culture in this country is way past out of control and now a small human being will always be the
    kid who supposedly killed someone. . . . .

I find it depressing that a three-year-old even knows how to pull a trigger on a gun, or even knows what a gun IS. Children that age should not be exposed to guns in any manner, whether real guns or in the media.

Why was this guys neck in front of the barrel of a gun while it was being sighted-in? That's the big question. I guess another lesson for those that find themselves around guns, it's a good idea to keep your neck away from the business end.

This was no accident and in my humble opinion, the only victim is the child. I'm sick of these incidents being passed off as accidents. If the kid has access to a gun, especially if it's loaded, it's the adults present who are to blame. This kid will need a lifetime of counseling to cope with this, if he's even able to get to a point where he doesn't blame himself, as kids are prone to doing.

Why is this an activity a family would do together in their home with their children nearby?
