A blast from the past. Christine O'Donnell is being sued for breaking campaign finance laws in 2010.

Courtesy of HuffPo:

The Federal Election Commission filed suit Monday against former Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell for allegedly using campaign funds for personal purposes.

The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for Delaware, claims that O'Donnell and then-campaign treasurer Matthew Moran illegally used $20,000 in funds raised for her 2010 Senate campaign to pay for her personal rent and utility bills during and after the election. The watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington originally filed a complaint with the FEC containing those allegations in September 2010.

From 2010 through 2011, the complaint alleges, O'Donnell and Moran spent at least $20,000 on rent and utilities at O'Donnell's townhouse in Greenville, Delaware, which doubled as her campaign headquarters. Federal campaign finance laws forbid the use of campaign funds to pay rent on a personal residence.

Lawyers for the FEC ask the court to force O'Donnell to repay the $20,000 in expenses spent on her housing, and to find an appropriate civil penalty for both O'Donnell and Moran for breaking the campaign finance law. The suit also notes that the FEC has attempted to settle with O'Donnell and Moran for payment of the $20,000, but was rebuffed.

There was a time when Christine O'Donnell was my favorite incompetent teabagger politician, and I wrote about her often.

But then she lost to Chris Coons, which was appropriate, and I stopped giving a shit.

However seeing her in the news due to a lawsuit for breaking campaign finance rules, just made her more interesting again.

And let's face it the news could be worse. At least she's not a witch.

Though come to think of it being a witch and NOT a criminal who misused campaign funds given to her by ignorant under educated morons who actually thought she could be a Senator might be better.

Christine O'Donnell, Michelle Bachman and the rest of their ilk use running for political office as their personal cash machine. It's not about public service. Snicker, sucker. Work at an actual job for a living? What? Why? When you can have a political campaign, a few PACs and the dollars just flow right in. Right, Sarah?

These are merely allegations. A court will decide if she is actually guilty of anything.
Let us know the outcome, please.

You can go ahead and wait for the legal outcome. Keep checking Gryphen's headlines and skip over any that don't meet your personal approval.

Meanwhile, Gryphen can write about allegations and and other proceedings. Many of us are interested and would like to read about and discuss them.

OT .... in LICKING county no less. Much licking.

I am seriously wondering why she wasn't investigated back in 2007-2008. Or at least by 2009

All these people with their Grift PACs and "Campaign" funds make me feel very inadequate. Why have I not done that? Why am I not making money that way?

I'm sure it is now the same or similar in every state, but in Florida, Jeb Bush definitely helped usher in the "Government Grifting" industry in the area of education (and probably others). My stupidity is that I did not get on board to take advantage of it (K-12 inc., virtual schools, etc.).

Every time the FL legislature asks to expand voucher programs, that's more money being taken away from the public schools (and also from parts of the general FL budget) to go to Jeb's education business cronies and the people who, unlike me, were smart enough to get on board with the program.

Why did I not just embrace Jeb Bush's education reforms, jump through his hoops, and profit from it?

Oh yeah, because I have to live with myself and I have something called integrity.

Yes, there is some snark in this post.

But it is the exact opposite of snark when I say that what scares me most about a Jeb Bush presidency is what he would do to the American education system. And the goobers in the GOP would gleefully go along with whatever he proposed, er, had someone else propose.

I had a long post in mind but I'll spare you all.

I don't think most of you need to be told not to donate to PACs, but your relatives/friends/colleagues might.

Please pass this along: never, ever give your money to a PAC! If you have political convictions, give what money you have directly to the official campaign of the candidate/s you support.

Please spread the word. PACs are completely legal but unless you verify that what that PAC says they are doing is what they are really doing, you could be seriously throwing your money away. And who has time to check those required filings to see if their funds are being administered properly?

Much easier - just donate only to the official campaign of the candidate/s you support.

Tell your friends, please - do not donate to PACs or parties. Always and only donate to an official campaign fund of the candidate/s of your choice.

O/T but not so much, it'll be interesting to see who the initial donors to Jeb's "Right to Rise" PAC are.

She started out with the College Republicans and moved quickly to anti-choice rhetoric. Her "promise" was on full, embarrassing display on Maher's program where she was a frequent guest and evolution denier.

I'm not quite sure what "great things" you see her doing in the future because when she popped up again to run for Senate, it was clear she hadn't changed whatsoever.

Corrupt John Boehner Conspires With Foreigners Against America’s Best Interests

If a person is deemed pathological, it means they have an obsessive or persistent tendency to some kind of untoward behavior such as lying or stealing that they cannot, and will not, stop regardless the consequences; to other people. Obviously, if a person’s pathological behavior such as lying and unethical conduct, resulted in adverse or negative consequences to themselves, whatever the behavior was would not become a profitable compulsion. The reason the preponderance of Republicans are generally pathological liars is because they are never called to task, or suffer consequences, for their tendency to lie either for their campaign donors’ benefit or their own political power.

Although the Republican party is rife with unethical and pathological liars, it is likely none are as pathological as Speaker of the House John A. Boehner (R-OH). For the past three-and-a-half years, Boehner has lied through his teeth about a foreign corporation’s pet project its home country will not let them build due to the existential damage to their nation’s environment, air quality, and water supply. Now, Boehner has enlisted a foreign corporation (TransCanada), the Canadian Prime Minister, and a foreign energy department to put pressure on America, and particularly its President, to approve construction of a pipeline Canada is well aware is an environmental and ecological disaster.

Maybe. Or perhaps it is because there are sooooo many PACs and Superpac that are just as suspicious. Besides, look at the crap that was heaped on the IRS when they investigated the Tea party groups that sprung up for the 2012 election cycle and were taking donations with no accountability. Unfortunately, a lot of tea party members found a new way to grift, right along with their party leaders!

IIRC, O'Donnell's personal bills were paid directly out of her DE Senate Campaign funds, which are much more strictly regulated. She had a big he-said she-said rift with her "campaign manager" whom she was dating/ living with at the time. It appeared that he got spooked by the thought of being an accomplice to her grifting/lying in the form of a candidacy.

Her only income was in the form of remuneration and reimbursements of "campaign expenses". Christine isn't a witch. She's a fraud and a criminal.

Why is Sarah Palin living like a queen and though she is not running for anything, still takes donations from her followers acting like she is. Why hasn't the FEC broke down her expenditures from donations as to see how many family and friends are being paid. Sarah is a joke and we all here would be in jail if we did what she is openly doing. She bought an motorhome, expensive from her pac money. When she sold it, where did that money go. She lists postage in the hundreds of thousands each year, what a joke in these days. Does her pac pay for her private books to be sent out and is the "Postage" mean big bucks for family salaries to send these books out?

Also, is the house in Arizona a deduction too because she might run for something there too. Is all her housekeepers, home help, tutors for her kids and special needs for Trig all being paid for by her Pac. How come FEC is not questioning the shocking amount she has paid to candidates for their campaigns. The Palins all have free health insurance through Todd's Alaskan ancestory. Isn't that free welfare for a millionaire family?
