Even Fox News is shocked at the Republicans for inviting Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu. And at Netanyahu for accepting.

Courtesy of Vox:

Fox News is not exactly known as an ally of the Obama administration, especially when it comes to disputes between Obama and House Speaker John Boehner, or disputes between Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Yet two prominent Fox News hosts, Chris Wallace and Shepherd Smith, harshly criticized Boehner and Netanyahu on Friday for secretly arranging a Netanyahu speech to Congress that is transparently aimed at undermining President Obama, and set up without the White House's knowledge.

The White House, State Department, and many foreign policy observers, including prominent former US ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk, expressed outrage over the move. And, in a sign of just how many lines Boehner and Netanyahu crossed, so did the two Fox News hosts.

"I agree 100 percent," Wallace said when Smith read a quote from Indyk criticizing the Boehner-Netanyahu maneuver. Wallace went on:

"And to make you get a sense of really how, forgive me, wicked, this whole thing is, the Secretary of State John Kerry met with the Israeli Ambassador to the United States for two hours on Tuesday, Ron Dermer. The ambassador, never mentioned the fact that Netanyahu was in negotiations and finally agreed to come to Washington, not to see the president, but to go to Capitol Hill, speak to a joint session of congress and criticize the president's policy. I have to say I'm shocked."

I have to say when you do something so outrageous that even your propagandists cannot endorse, you HAVE to know that you have stepped over a line.

At least one would think.

You know if I were the Republicans I would think long and hard about how angry I wanted to make the President at them.

The man has been extraordinarily patient with them so far, but much like the Incredible Hulk, I don;t think they'd like him when he's angry.

For Fox, those two are the sanest, which isn't saying a lot. But anyone with a brain in their head would think this is either borderline treasonous or a joke.

I have never in my life seen so many from the right treat a sitting president with such disrespect; not only the person, but apparently the office means nothing to them either. There are protocols that have been in place through many presidencies, but I can only assume that this president "doesn't count" to them. Even Putin got more respect than our President. Traitors, the whole lot of them.

    Vote you guys, vote!

So correct, Mildred. The President has been disrespected, and don't think people in other countries do not notice. The repubs. are terrified of highly intelligent people, that;s why they cheered W on, he was STUPID, easily manouvered. They do not have a single candidate on their side capable of being President, they are all "off" in some way. Too religious (or pretend to be) Too racist yet try to hide it. Just not too bright. Their golden boy, Scott Walker is a college dropout, with the most vacant look in his eyes.

The Speaker of the House is actually willing to manipulate America into another - and almost certainly even more costly (by every measure possible) - unnecessary war as a political tactic against the president? Words fail.

Given what's at stake in the negotiations with Iran, I hope the State Department blocks Netanyahu's entry into the country. He's now certified himself worthy of that humiliation.

And yet what was one of the top AP headlines on my Yahoo News scroll today? "Republican's outraged at Obama - demand bipartisanship." These people live in an alternate bizzarro world where this behavior is o.k.

Boehner committed a crime by violating "The Logan Act", I brought that up in an email, with my Congressman here in PA, but of course nothing will happen, business as usual

Obama Hits The Koch Congress Where It Hurts By Proposing More Drilling Restrictions On ANWR

    The president said:

Alaska’s National Wildlife Refuge is an incredible place. Pristine, undisturbed, it supports caribou and polar bears, all matter of marine life, countless species of birds and fish, and for centuries it’s supported many Alaska native communities, but it’s very fragile. That’s why that my Department of Interior has put forth a comprehensive plan to make sure that we’re protecting the refuge and that we’re designating new areas, including coastal plains for preservation. And I’m going to be calling on Congress to make sure that they take it one step further. Designating it as a wilderness, so that we can make sure that this amazing wonder is preserved for future generations.

The Department of Interior is proposing a plan that would reccomend that, “12.28 million acres – including the Coastal Plain – for designation as wilderness. The Service also recommends four rivers – the Atigun, Hulahula, Kongakut, and Marsh Fork Canning – for inclusion into the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.

White House Doesn’t Deny That They Are Angry at Netanyahu for Disrespecting Obama

...Beyond disrespecting the president, Netanyahu is clearly violating Israeli election law by holding what is, in essence, a campaign event in the United States weeks before the election in Israel. If anything, McDonough’s answer lends credibility to the report out of Israel that the White House is livid and warning the prime minister that there will be a price to be paid for his disrespect.

The White House is doing the right thing by, not meddling in Israel’s elections. Giving Netanyahu a bigger platform by having President Obama meet with him would be a blatant level of interference that the American people would never tolerate from an outside government in a presidential election. The White House reaction has nothing to do with U.S.-Israeli relations and everything to do with disrespect and domestic politics.

This is lower than Palin, it's seditious and a slap in the face of our law. The President should invite Boehner to a private mee, ting and a public rap on the knuckles. I so respect our President for all he's done and tried to do, but Boehner is lower than spit for doing this, oh wait I already said lower than Palin, same thing.

Boehner is the one they need to go after! He has committed treason! He should be grabbed by a bunch and hung from the rafters! That is what would have been done to him years ago. The guy is an ass and totally incompetent.

Skeeter - fuckin' right they should be tried for treason! When an opposition party covertly deals with a sitting head of state to undermine and/or influence domestic policy of a democratically-elected government, that is fuckin' treason!

This a lose/lose for Boehner and Bibi. The majority of western Europe is for the talks with Iran to continue, and they have been vocal about it in various international newspapers. The President and Secretary of State of the United States will not see him, and the Secretary has said that recent robust international defense of Israel will be much more subdued, perhaps, given this visit without the Secretary's and President's knowledge.

Can you say fu^*ed? Let's see what they can pull off, but I have the feeling that it ain't gonna fly too far. Political theater vs N'drama O'bama.

The fact that this happens to be the Israeli PM is besides the point. You don't invite another country's leader behind the Presidents' back to come to Congress and criticize his policies.

I do not understand... or maybe I do and want to pretend I don't...

Our leaders are showing by example that if a person is rich or powerful enough, there are no consequences for crossing boundaries.

We've been raped, in essence. Again.

Rachel Maddow's people covered the issue where I learned this 'go behind the president' ploy was used before in South America during the children refugee issue. In issues of State, all you have is face. The Republicans disgraced their namesake, disgraced their country, and ooooo.... Yeah. I'm that frustrated, angry, furious, outraged, and worse yet, Mom raged.

I worry for the USA. Boehner is evil, I believe that totally, but he is also an alcoholic and many times appears weak yet somehow he manages to remain in power. I don't know where the money goes but I bet someone behind the scenes is arranging all of this. May the light of Day shine upon them just as Toto pulled the curtains open on the Wizard of Oz. What these people are doing to my country (which I share with everyone but still, she is mine!) makes me mad!

If I wasn't certifiably crazy and a medical marijuana patient I'd run for something. Honestly. Gets a person all riled up and wanting to Gibbs Smack something.

Thank you for the opportunity to rant. All that emotion was keeping me up. :)
