Michele Bachmann credits her presidency for bringing gas prices down to under $2.00 a gallon. Wait, what happened?

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Outgoing Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R) took to social media late this week to congratulate herself for bringing the price of gas down under two dollars per gallon.

The erstwhile 2012 presidential contender posted a photo of herself standing under a gasoline station’s pricing sign on Friday via the social medium Twitter. She captioned the image “$2 gas, anyone?”

Bachmann was referring to a campaign promise from her failed run at the presidency in which she vowed to bring gas prices back down under two dollars per gallon.

“Under President Bachmann you will see gasoline come down below $2 a gallon again,” Bachmann said at a South Carolina rally in 2012. “That will happen.”

So, who do you think gets the job of telling Bachmann that she DIDN'T win the White House in 2012?

You kind of think she might have noticed that by now, but nope.

Gee just when I think we can all agree that Sarah Palin is the most ignorant ex-politician in the world something like this happens.

  1. Once the Saudis have driven out smaller producers by flooding the market, what do you think will happen to the price of oil?

And the blame will go to Obama, yet none of the credit does. The GOP must be having a conniption, because Keystone, McConnell's first act since being in charge, is going nowhere now.

    2. Apparently hundreds of Americans have bought SUVs based on this short-term respite from high gas prices. Short-term non-thinking.
The Saudis can afford to sell it cheap because their productions costs are MUCH lower than other countries'.
With the highest percentage of domestic oil being produced in-house by USA, these low prices are not good. Thus, the squeeze by S.A., the Wal-Mart of oil companies.
@6:22 -- you are right. Prices will soon be even higher than before the drop. But not until the competition is routed and Russia's economy is flat-lined.

Putin will have to distract his country with another/continued invasion in Ukraine. et al.
In the meantime, Russian is quietly taking bail-out $ from China.

It sounds/looks like a board game.

Some of the people who support Bachmann and Palin are even more stupid. That is regrettable but understandable.

Some of the people who support and manipulate figurehead loonies are smarter and more manipulative than Bachmann and Palin. They use them as their tools of destruction and hate. That is evil.

Franklin Graham, the kochsucking tea party organizers, Roger Ailes, Rupert Murdoch, these are some of the puppetmasters of the PalinBachmann crazytrain in Uhmurrican politics.

She is a corrupt crazy woman. She was Minnesota's elected representative of the 6th district since 2007. The 6th district in Minnesota must be populated by dumb folks. I wonder how many are ambulatory. Do they rage against 'Big Gubmint' while riding their Medicare funded Hoverounds? The stupid ... it burns.

The Sixth District is populated with people exactly like Michele Bachmann. Just wait until you see her replacement, Tom Emmer. He is so much in the mold of Bachmann, he is keeping all of her people working for him.

Here are the people that elected Michele Bachmann repeatedly.

      http://www.tcdailyplanet.net/news/2014/07/10/conservative-christians-protest-anoka-hennepins-planned-lgbt-inclusion

"Two years after the Anoka-Hennepin School District entered into a consent decree with the U.S. Department of Justice after multiple suicides of LGBT students, and a lawsuit by six students alleging rampant bullying and discrimination, conservative Christian parents continue to fight the inclusion of LGBT students in the district.

At the June 30 school board meeting, the board heard the recommendations of the Anti-Bullying/Anti-Harassment Task Force, a group established by the consent decree. The task force is composed of 29 parents, teachers, principals, district administrators, and additional community members who are charged with making developing ways to make Anoka Hennepin Schools safer for students."

Next, let's see Sarah Palin, famous for "Drill baby, Drill!" standing next to a copy of the next Alaska budget, which will have seen state income falling because of those low prices. That was her plan all along!

Let's see: this is a fun game. I foresee that, in my New England town, sometime in the next few years our snowplowing expenses will go through the roof. I foresee that the incoming class at our local colleges will continue to be younger and younger than I am. I foresee that, five years from now, we will ask each other "Michele Bachmann? Who was that again?"
And, perhaps at the same time, we'll be chuckling about that Palin woman who used to make headlines....

o/t Prosecutors are recommending at least ten years in jail for former Virginia Governor McDonnell, who was talked about as a vice presidential running mate for Mitt Romney. Those Republicans -- finding a v.p. candidate who's not a crook or liar is a next-to-impossible feat.

Here's what gets me about both of them. When they entered politics, they both quit their churches. Palin, the holy roller Bible church, and Bachmann the ultra-conservative WELS. Why is that? Is there somewhere in the Bible that says if you're a politician, you don't have to abide by anything the Jesus that you tout says? Answer: NO. Thirty pieces of silver is what they went for and they got it. That they continue to be laughingstocks...well...no sympathy. It was, and always WILL be, all about the $$.

I juSt went to the Tundra Turds' FB page and saw that $he claimed to be one of Time Magazine's '100 most influential people'. Just when did THAT happen??? And if it is true that they thought so, what was their reasoning for this dipshit to even be nominated for this???

They do a new 100 every year -- and "influential" doesn't mean "good" or "smart" or "ingenious" or "inventive."
Just that the person has been in the headlines and affected public opinion.
She was there for one year, several years ago. She doesn't bother to mention that she hasn't been declared "influential" for quite some time.
I used to work at TIME; once worked on a Man of the Year cover story, which was a big deal back then. The person selected used to be someone who'd influenced the course of the world, for good or evil.
Hitler made it one year, so did Stalin, so did King Faisal during the oil crisis in 1974.
Nowadays, they don't dare upset readers by making this distinction. The Person of the Year has to be some sort of positive influence.
In any event, Palin won't be wined and dined by TIME, or anyone else, ever again.

I think she DID win it one year, or at least was seriously considered. And she deserved it....Time does not consider the BEST influence, just the folks who may have had the most influence on the direction or mood of the country.

She was a HUGE influence on this mostly-brain-dead country. She has had a major influence on poisoning the well of common good and did her best to slay sane conversation in the nation.

  12. This doesn't make any sense. So... if she had been elected president, she would have gotten gas prices down to $2.

She wasn't elected president, but gas is down to $2.

So any old president could do it? In which case her promise was empty. So why is she bragging?

She should be praising President Obama for taking the same steps she would have, because otherwise how would we have gotten the $2 gas?

    WHAT IS HER DAMNED POINT?

Jesus jumped up Christ in a chariot-driven sidecar, watching Bachmann's brain struggle to round up its neurons and pat them together into a little ball is like watching a parakeet try to play tennis.

Michelle grooms herself like an adult (and is attractive physically) but is almost as looney and corrupt as they come. Sarah's physical decay is much more apparent, her stupidity is off the charts, and her looniness and corruption set a benchmark. 'Dumb as a bag of Palins' should become a cultural idiom.

9:20, but she is looney and corrupt for Jesus so that makes her a better corrupt loon. Seriously, I was sure that Reagan already had Alzheimer's before he was elected president and I am sure Bachmann's brain is also decaying prematurely. I am sure we won't hear about it for years but I would bet money she has a diagnosis or is diagnosable.

She also said that under President Obama gas prices would go over $10.00 a gallon. She also thought that gas cost less than $2.00 when President Obama took office. Then gas cost over $4.00 a gallon. Remember how expensive it got when George W. was in office? Obviously Michelle Bachmann hasn't bought gas for her car in many a year. Once she's out of office that may no longer be true for her.
