PETA President Ingrid Newkirk responded on Saturday saying, “PETA simply believes that people shouldn’t step on dogs.”
“Palin’s Facebook response shows us that she knows PETA about as well as she knows geography.”
That's awesome.
As of now Palin's temper tantrum is receiving quite a bit of coverage, from news sites and blogs like the Daily Mail, New York Daily News, Washington Examiner, the Washington Post, as well as others.
Most of the coverage is pretty straightforward with nobody either condoning or condemning her statements, but the comments are brutal.
I have to say however that I have not seen the pro-Palin people as amped up and working hard to cover for Granny the Gaffe Machine like this in quite some time.
She might even get a few extra pennies in SarahPAC over this.
Of course everybody else hates her more than ever, but seriously why would that bother her?
Sarah did not justify or explain why she would allow her child to stand on the family pet. She will never admit to a mistake or to being wrong, ever. She reacted as she always does with an attack on the President and on PETA with twisted and untrue statements. I know I am, but what are you? You are, No, You are. Such a brilliant debater! Her rebuttals are on a 4 year old's level.

Pet is correct. Jill may have come from a service dog organization, but she was received by AIP Palin way too young to be through a training program. I am sure that if AIP Palin was taking her for service dog training, there would have been pictures and postings. Since she doesn't seem to be bothering to get Trig his much needed therapy, why would the dog be a priority? If Jill has been trained to be Trig's service dog, he will be relying on her for the next decade and he needs to know how to behave with her. You wouldn't let your child damage his much needed hearing aids or glasses and the dog is one heck of a lot more important to his long term well-being. The horsey comments she posted and young Jill's sway back make me sick to my stomach. Jill seems to be of service as part of an arsenal of distractions to occupy a child that is not easy to deal with.

As a REAL dog lover, may I just say FUCK YOU BITCH. That poor lab means NOTHING to you except to feed your sick need for attention. Same for Tri-G. I wished I believed in Hell so that I may wish you an eternal vacation down there.

She knew the dog well, was around him (or her, can't remember) a lot, something weird just happened and she got bit in the face. Nasty scar too on a beautiful girl. She was in her 20s, a dog lover. I forget the exact circumstances- he got startled or something or they were clowning around and the dog thought she was trying to hurt her fiance. It was 30 years ago, but a good loving dog that knows you ,can turn on you as well, if they think something is amiss.

Kids learn early how to mistreat animals (like this stepping issue) and can do more harm as they get older and heavier. He could eventually seriously hurt the animals spine, kidneys, liver, etc. If he did that to a cat, he would get some pretty strong scratches and bites. Then of course, the cat would be blamed.

I was thinking the same thing about the sway back. I have a 12 year old black lab and his back is still very straight. Jill is still a puppy and her skeletal system is not yet fully developed and strengthened. No one should be putting ~50 lbs of extra weight directly on her spine (multiple times as evidenced by the photos), particularly at this stage of her life. She really should be removed from that household. Makes me sick.

DeleteI have a friend with a little boy who needed glasses when he was three years old. They had to really work with him to get him to wear them, but once they found a pair that were comfortable and he realized he could actually see with them, the struggle was over.
I have an acquaintance with a little girl who has DS. The last time I saw her, they had just gotten her a new pair of glasses (she was about 4 years old). Over the course of the 20 minutes or so when we visited, the mom must have reminded her daughter six or seven times to keep her glasses on.
That's what parents are supposed to do.
11:19-- Yes, the eye muscle surgery makes the eyes straighter but it typically does not correct nearsightedness or farsightedness. I had 3 similar surgeries years ago. I suppose things could have changed but I don't think so. Trig should have had the surgery younger but maybe issues with his heart prevented it.

ReplyDeleteTo me the most damning photo of the three is the one where Trig looks directly at Sarah and she still did not realize that she should immediately run to him, lift him off the dog, and tell him in no uncertain terms that people do not stand on dogs. Instead of teaching that poor child an important life lesson, she snapped a photo, probably laughing and encouraging him all the while. That is what was wrong with the whole series. Sarah Palin. Failing once again - this time failing in being the adult in the room and helping Trig learn to behave better.

It sounds wonderful to place dogs with disabled vets. Are they slack with the placements? What if they place dogs with someone that is using them in a wrong way?
The organization has placed ONE dog with a vet in 2 yrs.

DeleteI adopted a little dog from a rescue group in rural Texas in September. I had to apply online, give them my history with pets and a release to contact the vet clinic that I use. They came to my house for the first of two follow-up visits. I've sent them her vet records and pictures since the adoption. I had to prove that I would give her love, good care and a safe home before they would let me adopt her. But then I'm not a former governor and former VP candidate. I'm just an animal lover.

Watching Tripp on Sarah's blog with poor little abused Jill shows that Tripp reeeeally doesn't like her and hasn't been taught to leave her alone. Trig doesn't seem to like Jill either, possibly because she's not easy to pick up and choke like the two little dogs. What a horrible family, the next generation is already obnoxious.

The PJF is taking a lot of heat for giving a dog to Trig when its mission is veterans. Obviously, she gave a dog to a fellow Republican for political reasons. Veterans have to spend 10-14 days in a training camp, but nothing for Trig and his family? If they had undergone training, Sarah would have told us about it.
I also have some questions about the dog training. We have some family members who did the first round of training for service dogs--two years of intense daily training before they were even moved into the next phase, which ran another year. These dogs seem to be moved out pretty quickly. the PJF is pretty vague about their training--doesn't sound like much more than the average dog owner gets at obedience school.
The bigger issue here is that Trig is not speaking or hearing. People have noticed for years that Sarah has not worked with him in therapy and kept his hearing aids in. I think they are in for a world of trouble when he gets older. What a tragedy!
Can someone please, please post the video of Trig kicking the dog? That will be the end of Sarah.
