Republicans release their own video of the President's SOTU speech in which they edit out remarks criticizing them over their stance on climate change. Well of course they did.

Courtesy of Think Progress:

The official website for House Republicans has posted on YouTube a version of President Obama’s State of the Union address which cuts out comments where the President was critical of Republican rhetoric on climate change, ThinkProgress has learned.

On John Boehner's official You Tube page he offers the "enhanced" version of the speech which features embedded images and factoids that refute much of what the President was saying.

Oh and it does one more thing:

At the 43:25 minute mark, President Obama is supposed to say “I’ve heard some folks try to dodge the evidence by saying they’re not scientists; that we don’t have enough information to act. Well, I’m not a scientist, either. But you know what — I know a lot of really good scientists at NASA, and NOAA, and at our major universities. The best scientists in the world are all telling us that our activities are changing the climate, and if we do not act forcefully, we’ll continue to see rising oceans, longer, hotter heat waves, dangerous droughts and floods, and massive disruptions that can trigger greater migration, conflict, and hunger around the globe.” Instead, the entire section is skipped. Obama’s comments resume with “The Pentagon says that climate change poses immediate risks to our national security. We should act like it.”

Gee I wonder why the Republicans were so sensitive about THAT part?

Could it be becasue it demonstrated how full of crap they were in their argument over climate change? Hmmm?

Well I have only on thing to say to that.

By they way Politifact has also been fact checking the President's speech and for the most part he got just about everything right.

Did they edit out the part when he told them I already won twice? bunch of sour grapes, now they are complaining Pres. Obama was rude- he should "apologize "using the universal republican response-gee can''t you take a joke.

Actually, I think they CAN'T take a joke. Right-wingers seem to be generally humor-challenged, and what passes for comedy has a mean streak--think Dennis Miller or even Clint Eastwood talking to the empty chair.

But of course they're going to edit out parts. Face it, they got their collective butts handed to them last night as well they should have. President Obama did hit it out of the park, and oh the damage control being done today! Proceed, Mr. President, please proceed. MUAH!

They were the rude ones -- applauding when he said he had no more campaigns to run.
    Beat, beat, beat,
He heard their sarcastic clapping and answered them back:
"I know because I won both of them."

If they hadn't applauded, then he wouldn't have had to hand it to them. But they did, and ZING!

Apologies needed from the Repugs, guys.

And then he winked (at Michelle?). Loved it!

P.S. Thanks for the "ZING" mention. My Dad always told us kids to never miss the zingable moments in life. Great memory of him!

They can deny it all they want and keep the information from their base but the fact remains, climate IS changing, and probably not in the way that anyone can anticipate. So, GOP, bury your head in the sand, but it doesn't change the facts.

They'll get every last drop out of rock that they can, kill every animal they can, pollute water and air however they can. God gave them the earth and everything on it, right? They'll suck it dry because "God said so."

I used to go through at least 200 bread bags annually, here in Alaska, but this year, I've only used 4. Climate change? You betcha, just count your leftover bread bags; bread bags don't lie.

Do you mean the bread bags that Jodi Ernst and all the other little poorly-shod kids used to tie over their shoes? Can hardly wait to see SNL's and IM's send-up of THAT.
Slightly OT- did anyone spot Mitch McConnell last night? I'd think as the new Senate Majority leader he'd at least spout off.....

Can you imagine if Joni Ernst had been tying the bread bags over her head. We wouldn't have had to watch her puppet theatre response last night.

Because the GOP has no productive ideas or policies about anything all they can do is lie. And then, when caught out, whine and complain like small children. Wouldn't it be great if just a few of those GOP members of Congress cared about the country? Just a few of them.

They can get away with this with their ignorant base because like Sarah, yawn, they didn't bother to listen. More right wing "facts".

Why wouldn't someone bother to listen to the President? Especially if they care about the country as much as they say they do. You'd think they'd be listening even more intently if they thought he was trying to pull something.

Or maybe there is another reason they feel compelled to ignore him? Wonder what that could be?

Perhaps they were distracted by the knowledge that their official Sarahpac membership cards have not arrived and yet everybody else has received theirs?

If I were a Republican, I would wonder why the party I was supporting felt they had to "protect" me from what the President actually said and why they had to present their "version" of the speech.

I just heard there is a million dollar reward being offered for anyone who can help Republicans justify calling themselves the "Christian" party...

...its for the first person who can comb the Bible looking for a verse where Jesus says, "Look after yourself first; everyone else can go fuck themselves."

Oh the pee pond was upset because Ana Zamora was his guest, brought to the United States illegally as a child, but benefited from his program to defer deportations for eligible immigrants. Yet the Marine that went across the Mexico border illegally with weapons, and now back, was not mentioned at all by who invited him. You know many guests are invited by Congress? They just bitch and moan about every last thing they can find.
