This of course was after Palin's disastrous Katie Couric interview when the McCain campaign tried to gain some control over Palin's ignorance and habit of saying whatever stupid thing popped into her pea brain.
So during this interview Palin is working hard to hold it together, and yet she cannot help but complain about the media. She also suggests that people are making things up about her family.

For most of the interview, she was coherent and reasonably credible (unless you knew the actual facts), OK, toward the end she was starting to wander and turn vague, but still. She didn't appear to be on any mind altering substance(s).
Today's Sarah is much worse than the pre-election Sarah. Some of it is that the campaign's handlers had her relatively under control, had her dress conservatively, and had her largely avoid the faux-folksy and sometimes vulgar communication style that she's adopted in recent years. And most important, apparently had her off the various drugs that now interfere with effective communication, and had slick political pros crafting her message, rather than loony amateurs such as Rebecca Mansour.
It's taken her almost seven years do descend to the pathetic level that we see today. I wonder if some of this is due to chemically-induced brain damage incurred since 2008, and how much of this is severe depression caused by the growing realization that she had a shot at the golden ring, but badly blew it, and that her life has become progressively worse since then.
I wonder if we'll see her totally implode one day, or whether she'll just wear out and fade away.
Palin should remember that when she points a finger at Bria, 3 fingers are pointing at her. Trig? Trig? Trig?

Here in Alaska the rumors began even before she announced her "pregnancy". There had been rumors floating around since late fall of 2007 that Bristol was pregnant, then once Sarah announced her "pregnancy" some folks in Juneau were questioned and more than a few stated that she simply didn't look pregnant.

In the movie Game Change it is an absolutely perfect scene when she worries herself sick about her approval ratings in Alaska. She never recovered after the truth about Troopergate came forward and finding Todd Palin had so much power was entirely over the top for most Alaskans. If Palin's life were really an "open book" as she states in the video, she would have had no problem at all with a committee of doctors reviewing all her medical records and with her permission going public with an overall summary about it's contents...primarily about her mental health, prescription drug usage and proof that she did indeed give birth to Trig.

There are millions who will never forget that Sarah with her crosshairs map on Gabby Giffords' district started the ball rolling. The public didn't link Sarah's name to that shooting, Sarah's actions before and after the shooting forever linked her name to it. You also don't know that all the victims and families worked with the prosecutors and determined that a plea deal was the best course of action rather than drag out this terrible event in court. The plea deal was accepted after much back and forth regarding forced medication of Loughner to get him sane enough for court, as he was totally- totally insane, and had been for a long time.

Putting aside for the moment whether or not Palin lived up to the things she stated in the interview and just taking the interview at face value, Palin sounded more rational and sane than in any other interview I've seen with her. Williams stayed soft spoken and low key while asking important questions.

DeleteWell, there's really no reason that Sarah should ever be seen in Juneau; she didn't even like being there when she had to! Also it's a full hour long jet trip from Anchorage and a 17 hour drive to Haines with a 4 hour ferry trip, if one goes by car, so her not being in Juneau is no surprise.
What is surprising is that no one ever sees her or Todd or the kids even grocery shopping here in Wasilla. We see plenty of photos of them doing their business in Anchorage, but never, ever, does anyone see them out and about here in town. They can get lost in the city of Anchorage and a lot of people probably don't recognize them, so they tend to stay "urban" and run back home to the compound because too many folks here in Wasilla might have "not nice" things to say if we see them at the store.
We're all hoping that one day they just pick up and leave and move to Anchorage, since Bristol has her "job" there and Sarah does her "hot yoga" there.
Lots of people in Anchorage know who the Palins are....some have seen them in Costco in Anchorage. I'd love running into either Todd, Bristol or Sarah! Would love having a little chit chat with any one of them and see how they handle it.
