“I’ll make a bet with you,” Robertson said. “Two guys break into an atheist’s home. He has a little atheist wife and two little atheist daughters. Two guys break into his home and tie him up in a chair and gag him. And then they take his two daughters in front of him and rape both of them and then shoot them and they take his wife and then decapitate her head off in front of him. And then they can look at him and say, ‘Isn’t it great that I don’t have to worry about being judged? Isn’t it great that there’s nothing wrong with this? There’s no right or wrong, now is it dude?’”
Robertson kept going: “Then you take a sharp knife and take his manhood and hold it in front of him and say, ‘Wouldn’t it be something if this [sic] was something wrong with this? But you’re the one who says there is no God, there’s no right, there’s no wrong, so we’re just having fun. We’re sick in the head, have a nice day.’”
Apparently this little fable was shared by Phil Robertson during a prayer breakfast in Vero Beach on Friday.
I guess the point is that if an Atheist were brutalized, and his family raped, tortured, and murdered, they would have to believe in God. Though it seems to me that this is the kind of thing that would shake the faith of a believer.
Which kind of makes me wonder what kind of person has these kinds of graphic fantasies about the murder and dismemberment of people they disagree with?
I disagree with the Palin family, but I have NEVER imagined anything this terrible happening to any of them. Never.
Here is the soundcloud for those having trouble believing that Phil Robertson actually said this out loud, at a prayer breakfast.
I truly don't understand how true Christians could sit there and listen to that and not be appalled. Imagine - I'm a good little Christian mom sitting there with my young children and he starts talking about rape???!!!???? WTF??!! And they all sat there with smiles and said AMEN?
ReplyDeleteThose aren't true Christians. True Christians would not wish horrific things upon anyone or anything.
DeleteFalse Christians always want to promote fear and hate, instead of faith and hope.
The suffering of others makes them feel superior. Then they write off any sense of empathy or responsibility by deeming it "God's will". If Jesus does exist, those people are in for a shock...
DeleteThese people are so sick; their thinking is sick. I was raised a Christian, but because of the sick, distorted, evil that comes out of organized religion today, I am totally turned off! They are not true believers, but evil doers. They are committing atrocities in the the name of God. They also believe the big lie of the rapture. Going straight to hell, they are!
DeleteWhere are all the "true Christians" publicly condemning what this so-called false one said and setting the record straight, 4:57?
DeleteOh, that's right.
Nowhere. Just uselessly wringing their hypocritical "true Christian" little hands.
As usual.
He's as much a terrorist as bin Laden ever was.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet there he is - invited to speak at prayer gatherings, CPAC, sitting on stage with Hannity's, Palin and the rest of that ilk. And they just don't see that he is every bit a domestic terrorist with the same rabid rankings of bin Laden.
DeleteJust a bunch of quacks.
ReplyDeleteYes some Christian he is. And what a wonderful example of a conservative family man. Makes me want to run right out and join his church. These kooks are doing more to drive religion out of the US than any terrorists could hope to do. Maybe what will be left are the people who do good for the sheer joy of doing good. All I see from this brand of Christian is hatred, fear-mongering, and lies. Jesus would not approve, Phil.
ReplyDeleteAt a prayer breakfast?
ReplyDeleteWith people listening and stuff?
A sick mental effective case for not wanting to be a Christian.
ReplyDeleteThank Mr dumb duck.
Clearly, Phil ain't wrapped too tight! Those in attendance should have booed him right off the stage.
DeleteThey are not Christians just as ISIS is not Muslim.
DeleteWhy does he dress that way? Very strange. This person needs mental help - FAST.
DeleteOh, but they are Christians.
DeleteIt seems like Phil didn't quite figure out that the atheist family members were not the ones doing the sinning here. Its the "believers" who were committing rape and murder. Not the brightest bulb, ol' Phil.
ReplyDeletePhil's story sounded like something out of a Charles Bronson movie!
DeleteThank you for pointing that out! That tidbit is lost on these God-fearing homophobes.
DeleteWhat the fuck is wrong with this man?!
ReplyDeleteA lot.
DeleteI'm tellin' ya, when they were invited up to Alasssska, as well as Ted Cruz, now the MOH prop, we've seen nothing yet from $arah. The uncoventional run we were promised. Good LORD.
ReplyDeleteI had an evangelist on my front porch once (children standing behind me) who said that if I didn't believe in god, then I believed it was OK for a 30 year old man to rape a three-year-old. I said "fuck you" (this is family lore now) for thinking that the only reason not to rape a child is because you think you would get in trouble with god. Then I called the police to say there was a man on my porch talking about raping children. He ran off. This makes my blood boil.
ReplyDeleteGaah. They just don't get it. You don't have to believe in a god to know what's right and wrong. Why can't they understand that. Most people don't need the threat or incentive of heaven or hell to live right in this world. You don't have to learn what's right and wrong from the bible. Even if folks can't figure it out what is good and bad, there are laws (against rape and murder etc) so that you know what society considers 'wrong'.
ReplyDeleteWhat point is the duck dude trying to make? That the sickos are atheists and do that sort of shit because they don't believe in god??? If the sickos in his fantasy break the law and risk the consequences of prison/death penalty in real life to commit those atrocities, what makes him think they would be any less likely to break the 'laws' written in the bible given that the only risk is possibly posthumous wrath of a mythological god that may or may not exist. Anyways, in the bible there are many examples of things that are just as barbaric being done in the name of god/religion.
Or is he claiming it would somehow be better for the victim if he was a believer? How would it be any better anyway - you'd think that if that happened to him it would be enough to make anyone doubt the existence of god (what kind of god would let such things happen?)
I know perfectly well what is right and wrong, what is ethical and unethical, and I don't need a fairy story or a mythological figurehead to guide me. Me thinks the ones who can't live right, be honest, and kind, and do good in the world without the carrot and stick of religion are the ones that are seriously lacking.
Yes. They can 't understand it because they have been brainwashed from infancy. 'Priests' have been selling the religious = moral crap for thousands of years. It is a means to control. Morality springs from empathy. A belief in the imaginary is not required.
DeleteExactly! By his logic, any of the flock is just a moment of doubt away from a murdering rampage?
DeleteApparently he has never heard of the many men of god who have murdered their spouses or families when someone new and tempting came along.
Lord have mercy of us all.
DeleteThe pseudo-christiany dominionist theocrats are truly headed toward an Idiocracy. Violently sexual imagery at a prayer breakfast is chilling. At a prayer (to whom) breakfast?
Many of the rwing ranters grift for gold in the name of God with guns. Apparently it pays well for some.
dowl
They believe only (their kind of) christians know what is right and what is wrong. They believe that without christianity there would not be a foundation for law.
DeleteOf course they have a right to pick and choose what they want to believe from or how to interpret the Bible.
It is they who are the weak ones.
This man should be on Fox, where he can reach the true believers. The rest of us are not buying this bull. He needs to be hosed down, he looks like a homeless person. Come to think of it, I have seen homeless people who look cleaner than he does.
DeleteAt a prayer breakfast????????
ReplyDeleteJesus wept.
Right after he "tossed" his bacon & eggs!
DeleteJJ
Where are the old-line Christians -- the Presbyterians, Episcopalians, Congregationalists, Methodists, Northern Baptists, and Roman Catholics -- who are loving, compassionate, forgiving?
ReplyDeleteHow have the allowed Christianity to be defined by these outliers, these psychologically unfit adults who've created a religion as fierce and ugly as the Taliban? Where is the difference between this Duck person and an ISIS warrior beheading an infidel? There is none at all -- they're blood brothers.
Don't get me started on the Methiodists, who have a very large missionary presence. I read a handbook on missionaries designed for Middle Schoolers, who were instructed to denigrate non-Christians in the kindest of possible ways, in essence forcing belief in 'God' as a condition of being civilized!
DeleteMany Methodist congregations nowadays lead the country in their open, accepting, rainbow beliefs.
DeleteThe Methodists of old -- like many of the denominations listed above -- were once very judgmental. Presbyterians and Anglicans sent missionaries all over the world to convert the heathens. These are not the accepted views of the modern creeds.
No one objected? That's the worst part.
ReplyDelete*gack* How is this acceptable to Christians of any denomination?
Deletedowl
They get their justification for not objecting from media spot-lit Palins and their ilk.
DeleteI don't know why I'm truly disturbed by this, seeing whose rabid yap it frothed out of, but I'm completely horrified. He just keeps going over the top to try and get press, doesn't he?
ReplyDeleteThis man is mentally ill. Seriously, how does he get away with the crap he says and no one calls him on it? He's sick! You take my word for this (cause, you know, I am someone!) it will be revealed someday, at some point that there is some 'gay' stuff going on somewhere in that family...in their closets, somewhere. And it will come out. He's just like so many of those politicians that are staunchly anti-gay homophobes and then...next thing you know old Jed's in bed with Jake.... It will be revealed!!
ReplyDeleteBlue girl Liz...
Yes. If only the ducks could talk!!
DeleteI wonder if Sarah (another God-fearing anti-gay nutcase) would ever let little Piper stay at the Robertson compound to pal around with Phil's grandkids? Uh, probably not!
ReplyDeleteI say Sarah probably would let her grandkids stay at the Robertson compound because the Ducks are wealthy, they are celebrities and golly gee-whiz, they might offer Sarah a job sometime or at least let her stand beside them and soak up some publicity. Sarah doesn't care about people's morals because she has no acceptable morals herself. Her kids and grandkids are to be used to benefit Sarah and Sarah alone.
DeleteIt would not surprise me that the answer is 'yes.'
DeleteSarah (broken in her own arrested development) may see Piper at the Robertson compound. It may not seem negative to Sarah. Her future for Piper may sadly include Duckism. For Sarah's 'brand' it would maybe pay (and play) well for Sarah herself and her clan.
dowl
And idiots like this make up a lot of the Tea Party who want control of this country.
ReplyDeleteIf they succeed, you can count on seeing thousands of stonings and burnings at the stake (so they don't have to spill blood, donchaknow) and other medieval tortures. You can count on lots of 14 year olds being married off to pigs like this and that other f**ker who CLAIMS to be a singer. What's his name? Oh yeah. Shitty pants!
They get their rocks off thinking about this crap and getting to DO it!
And who are the leaders?
Delete$arah and Ted.
They call themselves "christian," but they're an evil cult that has taken the most violent part of the Old Testament Bible to justify their violent fantasies.
ReplyDeleteThat's what happens when the bible is not called out as bullshit in its entirety.
DeleteJesus Christ, what kind of person would sit there at a prayer breakfast and LISTEN to this vile crap?
ReplyDeleteIf the congregation didn't rise in unison and throw him out of the room, I'm going to be worried.
Phol Robertson would advocate the stoning of women who fornicate before marriage. That means you, Todd Palin, Sarah Palin, Track Palin, Bristol Palin, and Willow Palin. Piper would be saved for an old man to take in marriage.
ReplyDeleteAre there any missing young women around where this creep lives 'cause he is waaaayyyyyyy past disturbing?
ReplyDeleteUgh. Just reinforces my long-time decision to avoid religion and vote against anyone who claims to be "holier than thou".
ReplyDeleteSo, if he didn't believe in god he'd have no morality? Not that he had any to begin with. He's way off in his understanding of atheism. Tool.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting to hear Sarah Palin's take on her friend's fantasies.
ReplyDeleteSarah, if you don't respond to what he's said, then you agree with it, and we'll know that you have the same bloodlust as this charlatan. There's no way around it -- either you endorse him, or you reject him totally. There's no middle ground.
Rev. Wright didn't say anything, ANYTHING, anything as fucked up as this clown cowpig has said. Yet old, slopey, elopey insufferable "vetted" witch gets to pal around with the worst, most violent nuts without shame.
Deleteimagine a group of "righteous Christians" from the Westboro Baptist Church showing up at the quacks house, raping and sticking things like red hot pokers up his ass, which one is the better Christian? the duck fuck, for "turning the other cheek" or the Westboro Baptist Church members for doing the work of god?.....
ReplyDelete"...you take a sharp knife and take his manhood and hold it in front of him..."
ReplyDeletePlease! Not while I'm eating.
It was the accepted way of things (imposed by my mother) at the dinner table that one did not veer too graphically into "barn talk", that is, specific details of livestock management.
DeleteI hope they weren't serving sausages at this prayer breakfast.
6:50 Some may call him a fox contributor/viewer.
DeleteWas he warning someone to straighten up and fly right? Sounds like he had a particular person in mind.
Delete"I hope they weren't serving sausages at this prayer breakfast."
DeleteActually, I'd hope they were. Ol' Duckie could hold a sausage in one hand and a knife in the other to illustrate for those unable to follow sentences of more than three words (the ignorant uneducated people who watch reality TV and believe it just like they believe in sky fairies).
A vienna sausage might better help them identify and recognize the threat. ;^)
All I can say is that a whole bunch of right wingers are going down the wrong path.
ReplyDeleteKnow your history kids. And know this word: INQUISITION
And don't forget to vote in every election; even when it's just a school bond or what have you.

There is too much negativity in the world today. Paste the link below to hear Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash sing The Girl from the North Country.

One of my favorite songs, Caroll, from one of the greatest albums ever. The song brings back for me a sweet spring in 1969, before the world caught Fire again, and again, and again.
DeleteA & E should get rid of Duck Dynasty for good this time. Prayer Breakfast? Who could eat breakfast after listening to that?
ReplyDeleteI would lose my appetite just looking at his dirty looking face.
DeleteHow can his TV show be allowed to continue? Does TLC not have any standards at all - or whichever station is supporting this evil, sick man and his family! Certainly no Christian love there.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I have heard and read these last few years, this is a very recurring and popular fantasy of the RePukeLiCons. Maybe not with an atheist family, but with a Democratic voting family.
ReplyDeleteIf the ONLY reason you're being "good" is because of your afraid of what would happen to you if you're not......that's not truly good, that's a chicken-shit coward.
ReplyDeleteA person of quality character will do the right thing regardless of sky daddy's reward or punishment.
What strikes me is that an all powerful god allows a little wife and innocent children to be raped and murdered, but the man with a lack of faith is the bad guy?
ReplyDeleteTheir CRIME was that they didn't believe in God.
DeleteTherefore, the agents of God were free to rape, mutilate, and kill them. It was God's will.
If this is the world they believe in, they need to be put on a reservation for psychopaths.
Also, too, what a stupid thing to say! Atheists believe in right and wrong. They just don't believe God is the source of right and Satan is the source of evil. I personally believe . . . in the force and the dark side.
ReplyDeleteThis man has a problem. He, like these seduced pretend christians, love to see sweet revenge on their enemies. Their hearts have waxed cold and Jesus as God in Revelation rebukes this kind, saying they are lukewarm, and he would rather they're cold or hot, and that he would spew the lukewarm out of his mouth.
ReplyDeleteCharlatans are a dime a dozen and these people are a disgrace to the gospel.
And talk about Karma......... This just in about Ted Cruz.
ReplyDeletehttp://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/ted-cruz-to-sign-up-obamacare-insurance
Radical fundamentalist religion of any variety is evil.
ReplyDeleteReligion and politics should never be linked IN ANY WAY.
Read the Constitution. It's all there. Ignored by the righties.
DeleteSubject: Protest A&E's continued production of Duck Dynasty
ReplyDeleteHi,
As a caring human being, and an atheist, I am horrified that Phil Robertson's comments go unchallenged and unremarked. The A&E organization directly funds the continuation of a television show lionizing this man and his family, and gives legitimacy to his hatred. That it was offered as an example of proper Christian behavior towards unbelievers is abhorrent and beyond the norms of civilized human behavior.
That's why I created a petition to Nancy Dubuc, CEO of A&E.
Will you sign this petition? Click here:
http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/protest-aes-continued?source=c.em.cp&r_by=11499624
Thanks!
I couldn't agree more and im christian. these type nut jobs Don't represent me. get them out of my face. Please!
DeleteThank you for creating this petition. I hope it gets shared all over, and leads to the cancellation.
Deletesomebody needs to knock that sick fuk out ..
ReplyDeleteI agree! ugh.
DeleteI think these nasty looking duck men would rape in groups. There is nothing Christian about them. Hate , Hate is all they do
ReplyDeleteThat is what I read that ISIS and Boker Haram are doing to non believers of their radical acts.
ReplyDeleteThis man took drugs, drank, cheated, beat his wife, and kicked them out of the house in his younger days. He has admitted that and so has she. When he asked them to return she took him to church first. She says he is good to her now. I saw a few clips of his show and his talking about sex and STD's to his grandchildren and their dates was disgusting. The teens were embarrassed.
its the new approach to their brand of *worship? I cant even call it Christianity. its like they're all trying to outdo each other with scare tactics to keep the flock in line. really its no different than 100yrs ago. its just the 21st.century version of preacher. Duck style.
ReplyDeleteIf religion has any benefit, it's that it keeps morally degenerate fundy scum like this idiot from raping, torturing, murdering, and all the other shit they constantly fantasize about doing to others. The only thing keeping from acting like the psychotic pieces of shit they are is fear of being set on fire for eternity by their vengeful god. They would be happy to engage in any kind of disgusting act they could if they thought they'd get away with it, and they think everyone else thinks this way too. Thankfully, they're so stupid they go around announcing this to actual civilized people. There are a lot of them who think this way and they are scary as hell. Sadly they think THEY'RE the moral authority because of their fear of punishment, even though they think about twisted shit like this. They're FILTH.
ReplyDeleteThis is sickening.
ReplyDeleteRobertson's fantasy is sickening. A gunnut was telling me a story he had heard from somebody he worked with. The guy said he knew someone who lived on the border of Texas and Mexico and came upon 3 "illegals who had just crossed the border. None of them could speak English and the (Texan) shot and killed all three".
ReplyDeleteI instantly said "I sure hope that man doesn't believe in god or Jesus or the Bible because if he does, he'll get to heaven and be told he can't get into heaven. No where in the bible does it say you can kill people randomly because they don't speak your language or are a different color. Besides all that, more than likely the Mexicans were Catholic so they too are Christians". None of the "good Christians" said another word.
These people make me sick.
I guess a fine christian, bible thumper will be doing all the mayhem and killings.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I read this last night, I was curious and went to the Facebook page of this "church". ALL of the comments about him were off-the-charts POSITIVE about his rant. It was sickening. I wish I would have taken a screen shot. I went back to the page a cpl times and whenever someone would post a negative comment, it was immediately deleted. Went to the FB page just now and it was deleted. I guess people were having way too much fun last night expressing their rage? ;) The "congregation" was certainly 100% in favor of his speech. What a sick bunch. It is so sad to think that these particular people who call themselves Christian only believe that the reason to not rape/murder is because of the "fear of God".
ReplyDeleteDisgusting analogy.
ReplyDeleteWhen spiritually religious people aren't exposing their lusts for ignorance, violence and death that they pray for, they're very superior with that delusion of godly enlightenment that makes everyone else inferior.
ReplyDeleteYou've really got to watch out for those that keep it hidden.
Robertson is a truly despicable misogynistic, and blindly stupid fool.
ReplyDeleteHis brand of logic makes as much sense as his religion, and obviously the man has ZERO sense of propriety or decorum.
His Christo-fascist position stating that atheist have no moral compass is a classic Christian lie, born of pure ignorance, and blind stupidity
Wow. Wow and people actually listen to this guy? omg. is there anyone left out there? anyone home? Americans? this is not good. We cannot have such a divided society and the other half pure evil satan loons foaming at the mouth and talkin shit. Any decent America loving human out there better start helping to turn this turd around. Take note who and what families have promoted this garbage. It is complete hateful evil. Believe that.
ReplyDeleteWhom might we thank for the last 10 yrs of reality star evil garbage polluting our airwaves, ears, eyes and society? Who? exactly what media group? who owns it? who promotes this shit? who pays this duck dude one red American cent? wake up americans. call for action is screaming very loud. Right vs wrong Good vs. evil. wrong is wrong.
ReplyDeleteOh, fuck this silly fake hillbilly in the ear with Pat Robertson's dick. Whenever I see some goober or gooberette wearing that dopey brand camo getup I just gotta laugh. I've got to hand it to them though, that family saw the main chance, they knew their demographic and found someone with some marketing savvy and are as rich as rajas. For that kind of money I'd sell out in a New York minute, I'd go underwater and fuck fish and I'm no better than they are. Fuck em anyhow. Assholes.
ReplyDeleteHe even LOOKS like a crazed, Muslim ayatollah.
ReplyDeleteThat ALONE should have any real Christian running away from him. Talk about sheep...holy crap.
If television brought down communism, then the internet is going to bring down religion. This crap goes viral, seeps into the awareness of how fucked up "christians" are -- I applaud every sick thing these terrorist monsters say in public. Every mean rant a coffin nail.
ReplyDeleteSick son of a bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blood lusting non Christian, fake pos. I hope karma kicks him in the butt and his smarmy pals.
ReplyDeleteAs a big of a media whore as Sarah and the kartrashians, say or do anything for attention. Nothing is below them, nothing...
ReplyDeletePedophoile bastard...the only type of friends the palin KKKlan stracts...SMH
ReplyDelete*attracts
DeleteMy atheistic ethics are as good if not better than the flocks of Catholics, Jews, fundies, et. and all. Religion the lie that blinds the hands, feet and minds of the brain washed. And, fills the pockets of the leader(s) of the gullible and afraid. After life insurance??????
ReplyDeleteHey Hannity, Palin, et.al. What's up with your pedophile duck.
ReplyDeleteSarah knows how to pick 'em.
ReplyDeletehttp://images.sodahead.com/polls/003579457/2332516304_4240783637_1_115_xlarge_answer_1_xlarge.jpeg
Honestly, the guy with his beard and thought process sounds and looks like a muslim cleric from the Middle East. Lot in common .
ReplyDeleteBut wait---if this were truly an atheist family, wouldn't the father be gay, and have gleefully aborted all his kids? Actually, in addition, he'd be undergoing transgender surgery!
ReplyDeleteSo when his "manhood" got cut off, he'd THANK the invaders for saving him some time and money, and then ask if they could maybe drop him off at the clinic on their way out? You know, being a mooch, and all.
Now, that's what a REAL atheist acts like...
(Snark, in the remote case that anyone can't tell.)
Gryphen, if you can, please post some pictures of Sarah with her good buddy, Phil Robinson. And quotes of her praising him. If you have time. I know you are busy. But I appreciate all you do.
ReplyDeletePhil Robertson is a f**king idiot. If he's a Christian, then I'm the f**king Pope.
ReplyDelete
