A comparison of past President's approval rating during their seventh year in office. |
President Barack Obama's approval rating is shifting back toward positive territory, as the public's take on the economy hits a new high mark for Obama's tenure, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.
For the first time since May of 2013, more Americans polled say they have a positive impression of how Obama is handling the presidency than a negative one: 48% approve of the way Obama is handling his job, while 47% disapprove.
While the share saying they approve is not significantly larger than the share disapproving, it's a notable shift in perceptions of Obama's presidency.
Obama's numbers are on the rise at the same time the public gives the economy the highest ratings of his presidency.
The poll finds 52% describe the U.S. economy as very or somewhat good, while 48% call it very or somewhat poor. That marks the first time since Obama took office that significantly more people describe the economy as "good" than "poor," and only the second time since then that a majority has described the nation's economy as "good."
The last time significantly more Americans called the economy "good" than "poor" in CNN/ORC polling was September 2007.
You know considering how the Right Wing goes after the President on a constant basis, it is almost a miracle that his numbers are even this high. And those numbers for the economy are nothing short of miraculous, considering where we were when Obama took office.
Speaking of the Right Wing how are the Republicans faring in the polls?
You know at this rate President Obama might crack 50 or even 60% approval before he leaves office, while Congressional Republicans look like they are headed toward negative numbers.

Wow, President Obama's numbers match Saint Ronnie's! That is gonna cause a few tea party members to have cardiac events, strokes and just general pants soiling and fist shaking...oh the humanity!
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't know that Reagan's approval ratings were so low at this point in his tenure. I assumed because Bush won so handily that Reagan was popular.
ReplyDeleteThere is no question that President Obama has done wonders with what he has had on is plate and done it with honesty, graciousness and charm. It will go down in history that he was one of the finest presidents to ever serve this country. The malicious, petty, treasonous actions of the GOP will also go down in history demonstrating the callus and sabotaging acts of those small and racist men and women. I wish with all my heart that I could vote for him again. I shudder to think what will happen to this country if the GOP manages to steal the White House again, especially the clown car that is loading up right now.
ReplyDeleteNothing to add on that sentiment!
DeleteHear Hear! I do so wish I could vote him a 3rd.
I agree with you 1000%.

Rand Paul’s Son Cited for Drunk Driving
ReplyDeleteWilliam Paul, the 22-year-old son of Republican presidential candidate and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, was issued a citation over the weekend for driving while under the influence of alcohol, according to a report from local NBC affiliate LEX 18.
Police reportedly found Paul sitting in the driver’s seat after he allegedly hit a parked car. The report reads:

Was Paul's son with AquaBhudda?
ReplyDeleteSo, in spite of a 24/7 effort to instruct Americans that everything is totally awful, and "the world is on fire," Fox is being ignored by more and more people, whose eyes are still open.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it sad that the GOP icon is an elephant. Such disrespect to a marvelous animal. Many times it seems the four-footed gang with trunks is smarter than the two-footed gang with ALEC baggage.
ReplyDeleteI'd give President Obama an approval rating of 99.9%. He has worked steadfastly and tirelessly for the American people, all of us, ever since he took office in 2009. That's a lot more than can be said for the members of Congress who have worked steadfastly and tirelessly at obstructing his every move. Their employers are billionaires like the Koch brothers and Grover Norquist, the nobody who wants all government to fail.

I see I'm not alone in supporting the President. A child in our area wrote him a letter and he took the time to write long hand and signed the letter by hand as well. This child was over the moon that he took the time, the reporter told her she could sell his signature for money, and she balked, saying she'd keep it forever. She lost her mom and had to move and start over at an aunts house, he shared his own experience on her level in the most eloquent and comforting way.
ReplyDeleteAny man who takes the time to try to help a child cope is a man with a good heart.
Best president ever.
