The Republicans want you to know that just because Hillary Clinton is about to officially announce her presidential campaign does not mean they are not still going after her on Benghazi.

Rep. Trey "Rooster head" Gowdy.
Courtesy of Politico:

House Republicans investigating the 2012 terrorist attacks in Benghazi and Hillary Clinton’s email practices as secretary of state said in interviews that her official entry into the presidential race won’t have any bearing on their probes.

But the political stakes of the Clinton congressional investigations are about to skyrocket. Both parties will be watching the committee’s work intently for ammo to use against Clinton or to call foul on the GOP for attempting to smear a presidential contender.

“Secretary Clinton’s decision to seek the presidency of the United States does not and will not impact the work of the committee,” said Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi. “The Committee needs to and expects to talk with Secretary Clinton twice, as ensuring the committee has all relevant material is a condition precedent to asking specifically about Libya and Benghazi.”

Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.) said the committee is prepared to take criticism from Clinton allies once her campaign launches but won’t be deterred from fully probing the attacks just because she is running for president.

“I don’t think anybody is going to stop her and her camp from saying anything we do is … political. She’ll use this in her campaign,” Westmorelnd said. “It’s not political. We would have had her in a long time ago if we had her emails. This is something she has brought on herself and the State Department brought on.”

You know the only people more pleased than the Right Wing at this news, is Hillary Clinton and her campaign staff.

I mean seriously if you are framing your candidacy as fighting against the destructive politics of the conservatives, how better to illustrate that then having them using ridiculous trumped up allegations to go after you?

Hell Try Gowdy might just as well volunteer to personally drive Hillary supporters to the polls in 2016 himself.

Because trust me, he's doing that already.

My God, they've had those emails for what, two years? We can't help it, Lynn, if you refuse to look through Issa's paperwork, or did he shred it when he lost the job of Chief Inquisitor and Liar and passed it on to you two? Does anyone believe that there is anything to be found in Benghazi, Libya, or the supposed 'deleted emails?' No one but Reince, who is looking at his candidate choices and begging Goody to find that smoking gun to shoot Hillary with. If not, they'll just do what they do anyway..make crap up and fling it all over the complicit media.

How come the gop/tp attract the weird looking people? Like attracts like? It is reaching the point where you can see a new politician and guess which party they "represent" by looks alone. Weird - republican for sure. This Gowdy guy looks like he bought a bumpit from the PayMe clan.

Good Morning Gryphen, this is off topic, but VERY good to read this fine morning! Gives me hope for this country. And tears yet another plank away from the anti-gay right wing faction for the upcoming election.

Poll Finds Americans Overwhelmingly Oppose Religious Based Anti-Gay Bigotry

...The Reuters poll found that by a 55-27 percent margin, Americans do not believe businesses should have the right to refuse to hire certain groups of people based on their religious beliefs. By a very similar 54-28 margin, Americans do not support the right of businesses to refuse services to certain categories of people based on religious objections. In plain English, Americans do not approve of discrimination even if it is disguised by the euphemism “religious freedom”.

On the eve of Hillary Clinton’s anticipated announcement that she is running for President, President Obama used his bully pulpit to give her a huge boost.

Saying she was an excellent Secretary of State, President Obama said the former Secretary and Senator Hillary Clinton would make an “excellent president”.

    Watch here:

“She was an outstanding secretary of state. She is my friend. I think she would be an excellent president. And I’m not on the ballot, so I’m not going to step on her lines.”

President Obama refused to play pundit when asked if the Democratic field was wide open. He made sure to shoot a huge hole in the Republican hopes of making 2016 about foreign policy by reminding everyone that Ms. Clinton can run circles around the expected Republican hopefuls.

“The one thing I will say is she is going to be able to handle herself very well in any conversations that are based around foreign policy,” the President said. “And her track record with respect to domestic policies is one that cares about working families.”

“If she decides to run, if she makes an announcement, she’s going to have some strong messages to deliver.”

    1. Remember how outrageous the costs for Palin's stylist, hairdresser, and makeup artist seemed during the '08 campaign. My goodness, those hard-working souls earned every penny they were paid and then some.

Considering what they had to work with, that they managed to give that tacky, tasteless streetwalker chic bag of trailer trash the appearance of an accomplished professional woman is an amazing feat.

    2. And Sarah didn't learn a thing. She still dresses like a hooker. I think the only reason she occasionally wears her hair down is 1. She's too lazy to style it and 2. The wig looks more natural that way.

But she still wears the leather and platform spiked heels, etc. When she doesn't have a handler dressing and styling her, she is just white trash. (My apologies to anyone out their that considers themselves "white trash".)

The Republican effort to stop Hillary Clinton has already run aground. The fact that Mitt Romney is the guy making the trust argument is a sure sign that Republicans are in trouble.

Why Hillary Clinton Is Probably Going to Win the 2016 Election

Rather than run from Mr. Obama, she intends to turn to him as one of her campaign’s most important allies and advocates — second only, perhaps, to her husband, the other president whose record will hover over her bid.

    1. Record, yes. But Bill has already bowed out of campaigning. Basically says his heart isn't in it any more. I think that is a good thing. Plus, I'm not sure how a hard campaign would be for his health. He's healthier now but still.

Trey "Birth Defects Poster Boy" Gowdy has essentially called Hillary Clinton a murderer.

At what point will not being able to find any evidence against her, cause such a public slander to be prosecuted?

If we all start claiming Gowdy killed his twin brother, and cause a viral internet clamor for his being jailed, are we going to get away with it?

Trey reminds me of the daughter that looks like a rooster on the Progressive Insurance Commercial, with Flo saying she's not a witch and that the rooster was born looking like that.
Trey has a lot of skin in this upcoming election, it's his job to get Hillary in front of the committee he's head of, just so people can smirk at his name and looks. Hillary can hold her own against any contender the GOP has. She's got the experience, the resume, and knows the world leaders. Heck, she can even mention actual things she's read over the years!
She truly put her "country first" when she lost against President Obama, then turned around and worked with him.

  17. Benghazi is dead and the e-mail "scandal" will be too.

The Republicans think the voters have short memories when it comes to Republicans and long memories when it comes to Democrats? Nope. It's short attention span theater and by the time it comes down to the wire in 2016 no one will care about Benghazi or anyone's e-mails.
