Jeb Bush clarifies that when he uses the term "anchor babies" he's not referring to Mexicans, who he loves, he's referring to those slanted eyed rice eating bastards.

"What? Asians vote too? Oh well I meant to say the Swiss. They're the ones ruining the country!"
Courtesy of Salon:

During his obligatory visit to the U.S.-Mexico border as one of 17 Republicans vying for the GOP presidential nomination, Bush once again found himself at the center of a controversy surrounding his use of the derogatory reference to the U.S. born children of undocumented immigrants. Bush attempted to clarify that when he said “anchor babies” during a radio interview last week, he meant Asians who come in and “take advantage” of birthright citizenship not Hispanics.

Bush blamed Hillary Clinton’s campaign for suggesting the term is derogatory, calling the controversy “ludicrous.” Bush, who’s wife is a Mexican immigrant, claimed that “frankly, it’s more related to Asian people coming into our country, having children, in that organized effort taking advantage of a noble concept, which is birthright citizenship” and said he wasn’t worried that his use of the term would impact his relationship with Hispanic voters:

"What I was talking about was the specific case of fraud being committed where there’s organized efforts—and frankly it’s more related to Asian people—coming into our country, having children, in that organized efforts, taking advantage of a noble concept, which is birthright citizenship. I support the 14th amendment. Nothing I’ve said should be viewed as derogatory toward immigrants at all."

Holy crap!

Jeb Bush is a one man gaffe factory!

Yeah hell why only insult the Hispanics in this country when you can also make the Asians hate you as well?

I guess in the Bush family the bar for being the smart brother is just incredibly, incredibly low.

FYI, Jeb was probably referencing this article in Rolling Stone, which came out this month.
    http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/welcome-to-maternity-hotel-california-20150819

Granted, he was probably trying to cover his ass, and this article had just appeared, so Jeb saw it as a way out of his discriminatory comments. But the solution to the "problem" of rich Chinese women having babies in the U.S. is to beef up security at airports and passport control. It's got nothing to do with the "immigration problem" as Republicans know it, and these rich Chinese socialites are NOT the ones getting deported and abused by the likes of Sheriff Arpaio.

Well I can't stand the guy, but he's not wrong:

When Ma Fahong approached the immigration desk at Los Angeles International Airport, the customs agent had only two questions for her.

“Why are you coming to the U.S.?”

“I’m here to have a baby.”

“How much cash do you have on you?”

“I only have $1,000 in cash, but I have a debit card with much more in the bank.”

Passport stamped. Welcome to Los Angeles.

Ma is part of a growing wave of Chinese women who are flocking to the United States -- California, in particular -- to have children who will grow up as American citizens. The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees citizenship to every person born on American soil, a fact that has long motivated foreigners from all over the world to give birth in the U.S.

The conversation about immigrant families in the U.S. is typically centered around people from Latin America seeking economic opportunities in the States. But as incomes in China rise and visa hurdles fall, women from China are making up a larger share of foreign births in the U.S, and they’re complicating many of the popular ideas about immigrant mothers.

Most of the Chinese mothers come with large sums of cash at their fingertips, money they often spend on houses and luxury goods. While many, like Ma, enter and give birth in the U.S. legally, others buy package plans from “birth tourism” agencies -- profit-seeking and sometimes illegal organizations that arrange accommodations and hospital visits for groups of Chinese women. These businesses have clustered in California, a top tourism destination that also boasts large Chinese-American communities that make many expectant mothers feel at home.

I live in San Francisco. My husband's Asian. I've got plenty of Asian friends and have worked for Asians. I teach many Asian children every teach. I'm not anti-Asian. But the above post is accurate. As well, where I live the number of huge all-cash payments for property/houses/businesses by Chinese buyers is staggering and ever-increasing. This is the SF Bay Area, always one of the most expensive areas for real estate, and the all-cash buying is highly suspect in many cases. I live right in the city. My husband's relatives live in the surrounding suburbs, and they are always pointing out to us the most recent all-cash--one million dollars minimum--Chinese home buys.

So? The damned Pilgrims came here with a pregnant woman, maybe all you white people should leave NOW.
Oh, but somehow it's different when the illegal immigrants are white isn't it? BTW Irish illegal aliens come here and do the same thing. Piyush Jindal AKA "Bobby" is here because his pregnant Mom came here, so what's the difference.
I can fault no parent trying to better things for their children in any way.

Wow, Anon 9:29 am, who pissed in your cornflakes this morning? The posts about Asian birthing tourism was simply to reinforce what Bush said as fact, not to bash anyone. Chill a little. It's not about white vs anything, it's about how the 14th amendment is being interpreted and used to fuel a booming industry. You must be non-white to have such a chip on your shoulder and to read into these posts some sort of anti sentiment. Like I said, chill and consider how you are coming across.

As far as a parent trying to better things for their children, I have no problem with them doing that at all, it's their right as a parent to try to do their best for their children.

Jeb! is just as stupid as his brother who played at being president. Mama Bush was right - there have been enough (way more than enough!) Bushes in the White House.

I want to give Jeb the benefit of the doubt and believe that when he mentioned Asians he was talking about the post-Vietnam War refugee movement that brought many Vietnamese to the US (many settled in the southern states and New Orleans is perhaps where the largest number settled, but I'd need to look that up). At that time, legal Vietnamese immigrants established themselves while trying to get their family members to come over next. I think--think--Jeb may have been referring to this and to how the term "anchor children" started and then devolved into "anchor babies." But who knows. Whatever he did mean, it sounded horrible.

A very short history lesson for you, the Viet Manese that came over were the ones that supported our stupid war. Most of the VN that came over served 8 to 14 yrs in prison before coming over because of helping the USA( we left them behind).

As for "anchor babies" that started with the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock( the very first "anchor baby")please educate your self

I was wondering how long it would take for them to come out with this story about the Chinese coming just to get American passports for their kids, saw a program on it years ago.

@9:29 Am the difference is this is a big business, they only want citizenship for their kids,so come college time so they can avoid the visa problems. What exactly are they contributing to the US? Avoiding tuition fees for foreigners? Using our universities paid for by taxpayers to educate their kids?

Should Jeb Bush Go After Trump?

“What Jeb is desperately trying to do is find his swagger right now. The knock against Jeb is that he’s low voltage and not willing to fight. The best way to shake those perceptions i[s] to engage against the person who is in the media on a 24/7 loop.”

Jeb Bush may feel he has no choice. Donors have invested tens of millions of dollars in his campaign, and many of them must, by now, be getting uneasy. If the uneasiness intensifies, the flow of checks will slow. Every campaign runs on money, but Jeb Bush’s more than most. He’s hoping through sheer staying power to impose his nomination on a recalcitrant party. The money buys the staying power. If the money dwindles, his fortunes fall hostage to the Republicans of the early states: Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada, none of them a promising Jeb Bush firewall.

So the attack-Trump mistake may be unavoidable, a necessary error to avert the even-worse calamity of having his fundraisers go on strike. Yet attack-Trump remains an error all the same for Jeb Bush—and for two big reasons.

The myth of Joe Biden's political appeal

Yet evidence for Biden's political appeal in the real world — among the Democratic electorate, the party, and the American public more broadly — is distinctly lacking.

    1) Democratic voters don't want Biden
    2) The Democratic Party establishment doesn't want Biden
    3) Democratic interest groups and progressive activists don't want Biden
    4) The general public doesn't want Biden

    5) The press wants Biden

Oh, Shut the Fuck Up, Roger Ailes
Throbbing anthropomorphic hemorrhoid Roger Ailes, Fox "news" chair, stepped up like a sweaty ogre in Galahad's tight armor to defend his woman, sneermistress Megyn Kelly, from the snotty tweets of the walking wart, Donald Trump. "Apologize!" the hemorrhoid demanded of the wart. "Stop saying mean things about our good and noble and true journalette." The girlfolk need a champion. They can't be expected to risk mussing their hair, Ailes believes.

"Suck it," replied the wart. "Suck my bald balls and lick my tasty taint." We shall have to see which pustule will win this war. Either way, we end up sticky and vomiting.

You know, though, for running a network that spends a decent percentage of spring covering the "horrors" of Spring Break in Florida as an excuse to show abs and tits, Ailes is mighty uppity about the respectability of his "news" hosts.

Fox "news" can dish it out - attempting to undermine, attack, and smear every so-called "liberal" media figure. But it can't take it.

Mostly, Roger Ailes should just shut the fuck up. He should shut the fuck up because the odious Megyn Kelly can probably handle Trump herself. Frankly, Ailes's defense of her is far more sexist than anything Trump has said. And he should shut the fuck up because everyone knows that his outrage is merely fodder for more ratings. What's better than Trump snarling at Fox? Fox snarling back. Everyone gets the coverage then.

Kelly is the Fox woman of the moment. When he's done with her, Ailes can sit, pantsless, behind his desk and buzz his secretary to order, "Bring me another blonde. This one's gone slack."

Of all the clown car riders, Jeb is the least articulate, and falls for Trump's antics every time. Yes, there's been an uptick of Chinese women having "anchor babies", but in his haste, he cast the broad net of "Asians" in an effort to prove Donald wrong. All Asians? Jeb? Folks from India, Indonesia, Phillipines? China, Japan? Jeb, you're supposed to be the "smarter" brother, start acting like it. The more you cave for Trump's game, the more dumb you look, and we're talking about Trump, here.
I watched him speak about this on television, his mo is "When in doubt. mention you're married to a Mexican, and say it in Spanish" . Next photoshopped campaign photo, Jeb with a willow wide brimmed hat, squatting in a field of rice, separating the chaff while speaking in spanish, with one african american hand, a sombrero on his head and his skin toned yellow.

"They;re called "babies'" Hillary Clinton, not sure if she's referencing Anchor babies or Jeb! and Trrrrrrump.
