State Department clears Hillary Clinton of wrongdoing in her use of private e-mail while serving as Secretary of State.

"What's that you say? I was right all along?"
Courtesy of Daily News Bin:

The State Department publicly confirmed today that Hillary Clinton’s use of personal email while serving as Secretary of State violated no laws or policies that were in place at the time, bringing an end to the substantive side of the “email scandal” if certainly not the political side. Clinton’s opponents in the 2016 election and their followers have been hoping the issue would force her out of the election, but now they’ll be reduced to simply trying to create a scandal where none exists, after the department’s official words today.

State Department official spokesperson John Kirby appeared live on CNN today and flat out stated that “she was not violating policy.” Like many other high ranking officials who came before and during her tenure, Hillary Clinton opted to bypass the wonky email servers provided by the department due to the fact that they couldn’t, for instance, properly work with mobile email apps on smartphones. Previous Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice have acknowledged having done the same. The news comes as a disappointment to those in politics who viewed the controversy as their best shot at catching up to Clinton, who has a massive lead in national polls both within her own party and across party lines.

This of course is what the Clinton campaign has been saying all along, but that has not stopped the Republicans from attacking her over her decision to use a private server rather than an e-mail address issued by the State Department.

Which, let me remind everybody again, was forced to completely shut down their e-mail system due to being hacked.

Of course even this will not keep Hillary[s detractors from making this nothing burger into an entire seven course meal of imagined corruption and illegalities.

(If you want to see the video of Kirby's appearance on CNN you can do so here.)

Doesn't matter, Gryph, the tin foil hatted will say it's all a commie plot and Marxist Obama gave them their orders.

But this is only ONE report!

There were HOW many Benghazi investigations and they're STILL claiming that it's a scandal so we have a long way to go before this one's put to bed.

It will be put to bed when the Dept. of Justice says so, not the State Dept.

  3. Not to hijack my own thread or anything, but for those wondering I have no intention of watching Sarah Palin tonight, or any other night this week.

I took one for the team last night just to see if she was as lame as we all thought she would be.

She was, and I have no expectation that any other show this week will be any better, or more interesting.

So unless her wig bursts into flames, or one of her guest gets fed up with her unprofessionalism and reaches across to smack the snot out of her, it is unlikely you will be hearing about her brief tenure on OAN from this blog.

Agree. I watched a minute or two of the end and it was cring-worthy. Her hands were all over the place! And I noticed, today, there was no mention of her show, a critique, anything anywhere on the 'internets'. Ha! I will not watch one second tonight, either.

Good decision. More than anything, she deserves to be ignored.

Oann Has turned off all free streaming. Guess they want to see if anybody was willing to pay to listen to her. Everybody at the sea of pee are so angry yet not a single on will pony up a lousy 2.99 to watch her.

I'm guessing that most of us forgot about her anyway. I certainly did.

I read on twitter that the live stream isn't working, I suppose OAN had it shut down. Do they imagine that Sarah's few remaining bots will PAY to see her if they don't have that tiny little channel?

I have news for OANN- Sarah Palin's are tighter than a fish's butt. They profess a lot of love for her but only if it's free.

Even the old pervert wouldn't give Sarah a cent, as he famously has said himself many times.

Bad move to cut the live stream, Sarah.

Thanks, Gryphen, for taking one for the team. Afterall, all she did was regurgitate facebook posts she paid someone to write for her, and embellished it with improvisational word salad.

This "E mail" news is going to drive her over the edge!!

Well now, I guess those overnight numbers weren't as good as c4p said.

      It's 11:00 PM here....and again, glad I missed it!

They call her that because they are still sure she personally killed those four people in Libya. After all, four people who were asked to leave because the State Dept. didn't have the funds to protect them, and they chose to stay, were murdered by Hillary, but the 20 embassies attached and the 100 people killed under Bush matter to no one.

It may be worth noting that she is married to a former President who is entitled to receive intelligence briefings, so it would just be my guess that he used the same server or they had similar security provisions on their servers. I doubt Bill uses the Google servers...

How come the State Department didn't take four years to make that statement?

Oh, I see- they didn't have anything to cover up, unlike the idiot Governor of Alaska covering the stinky ass of the idiot Governor of Alaska.

Wait what? Two previous Republican Party Secretary of State officials did the same thing as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton?

The Rethugs aint gonna like this.

    2. Anonymous7:15 PM

They know. This all happened because State asked all three of them for emails from their personal servers. The only one who mattered to the Rethugs was Hillary, of course.

It was simply a genius move for the SoS to use a private email server whose existence Chinese hackers would never have guessed at.

THAT must be what's eating Republicans.

    Dance, Sarah, dance.

You can't possibly really think that Chinese hackers (or any other hackers) didn't know damn well that Clinton used a private server and weren't perfectly capable of hacking it?

Anybody with a half a brain knows that the Clintons are much smarter than to do anything even verging on the illegal.

AND Hilary's server wasn't hacked, while the majority of the US government servers were.

The R's appear more desperate than ever not to have any plan in place for anything, but just to gin up nothing scandals about their opponents. And the low hanging fruit will only remember the 'scandal', not that it was bogus.

Sorry but you can't castigate Sarah Palin over her use of a personal e-mail account being used for governmental business and give Hillary a free pass.

She was wrong for the same reasons Sarah was wrong........ possible security breeches and the fact that public records aren't kept for private accounts. Sarah was her private account to get around having pubic records of public business. It's too easy for shady dealings being hidden from the public.

I don't care who does it. It is wrong. And if you can't say that, you are as bad as republicans when they say if your guy does it, it is wrong, but wink wink, it's ok if our guy does it, because he's our guy. Totally hypocritical.

You're wrong and you know it. But you'll never admit it. This isn't about liking Hillary Clinton or Sarah Palin. (I despise them both) This is about getting a government that the people can trust to act honestly and ethically. As long as people on either side give their people a pass for bad acting, it will never change. We have to be willing and able to call out "our guy or gal" to keep our government in check.

    5 Scandals Hillary Can't Overcome

    1) Benghazi!
    2) Signing her official emails "Sincerely yours, Adolph Hitler"
    3) Vince Foster's role in Benghazi!
    4) Whitewater land deal
    5) Those shiny moon spots built by alien civilization.
    5.1) Benghazi!

Hillary Clinton is the most-investigated woman on the planet going all the way back to Whitewater. Republicans spent years and tens of millions of dollars trying to hang something on the Clintons.

...and they found out that Monica gave Bill a blowjob.

Meanwhile, Hillary has been First Lady of Arkansas, First Lady of the United States, Senator for New York, and served with distinction as Secretary of State.
