Courtesy of the Daily Mail:
Chris Christie's brother had an Ashley Madison account in which he appealed for 'someone to bring some more spice into my life'.
Todd Christie, a married father of five who is working on Chris's bid to be U.S. president, reportedly had sex 'a dozen times' with one woman he met via the cheating website.
InTouch also spoke to a source who revealed that Todd and a woman he met online had sex 'about a dozen times.'
'
Todd knows that he‘ll probably lose his family - and that it could cost Chris the Republican nomination,' said the source.
'Chris should not be guilty by association, but Todd's actions will surely be associated with the Christie family's character.'
Well I disagree, I think that this fits right in with what we know about Chris Christie's character.
It may not reveal anything new about the Christie family, but it does help to reinforce what we already think of them.
However should Christie be blamed for his brother's actions?
No of course not.
But will it bang yet another nail into the Christie campaign's coffin?
Oh hell yes!
Is that a good thing for his future in politics?
Probably not.
Is it however good for the country?
Once again, oh hell yes!
I want Rafael Cruz to be exposed for the charlatan he is. Chris Christie has never had a very strong chance of being the GOP nominee.
ReplyDeleteOh, it's coming. Wait until Mr. Schmarmy tries to shut down he government again, and it is pointed out...again...that the debt ceiling is to pay bills we have already accrued, and that a shutdown costs us million soft those hard-earned dollars he's always whining about. I don't think Mr. "Green Eggs and Ham" will be reading on the Senate floor this time around. Although he might understand "Hop on Pop" better than the message from Sam-I-Am, which he totally ignored. Pus, more people know who he is now, and do NOT like him.
DeleteThe role of government is to govern.
DeleteThe CHIEF job of Congress is to apportion money for the general welfare of the country, being mindful of the USA as a United body, and that what ails the foot might affect the welfare of the rest.
Any Congress-critter who consciously works or advocates or votes for a governmental shut-down ought to immediately lose all pay and benefits for s/he has failed at the job. This includes ALL committee positions, no matter the ranking.
Anybody else who fails to do their job gets fired, why not Congress-critters?!?
Impeachment is for "high crimes and misdemeanors." Extortion *is* a high crime. Threatening to harm this nation as a body in order to benefit one's own standing in the opinions of a small subset is extortion.
The Senator isn't personally going to benefit from lack of access to birth control or abortion. If there IS personal benefit, then we add bribery to influence law-making in addition to extortion.
Congress, via the ethics committees, already has a mechanism for removing those who fail to uphold the high ideals of their office. However, it ought not be discretionary, it ought to be mandatory, and failure to do the job is far worse than failure to uphold an ideal.
Fantastic post, hauksdottir! Bravo!
Deleteyeah, I honestly don't see how this changes anything for Christie. Everyone that hates him will still hate him and everyone that loves him will still barely show up on any measuring technology known to mankind.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Todd Christie, with the skill of a butcher, just cleavered off Mr. Todd's balls. Well, that's two in 2 days.
ReplyDeleteMay I never be so desperate for sex that I would settle for Todd Christie.
ReplyDeleteditto Chris Christie. Poor Mary Patricia under all that weight.
DeleteProstitutes have sex with anyone that can pay.
DeleteLooks like porkiness runs in the family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a couple of obese slugs.
ReplyDeleteCheers.
Who would even want to have sex with either of them? Cannot image!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's my thought too. You'd have to send out a search party for their penises.
DeleteThat is humorous!
DeleteI hope this wasn't the scandal that Rachel alluded to last night. Because she's going to cover another GOP Presidential nominee scandal tonight with an exclusive!
ReplyDeleteAs far as guilt by association goes I'd say brother Chris has probably done a whole lot worse crap. Sad for his brother's wife and kids though.
ReplyDeleteWell, I must say, they definitely look like brothers! Not in a good way, either!
ReplyDeleteHard to believe he has enough money to pay someone for sex "a dozen times."
DeleteEVERYTHING IS ABOUT SEX, BULLYING, and MONEY$$$
ReplyDeletein that order! EVERYTHING!!!
May every one of those rotten to core jerks be exposed !
ReplyDeleteThis common male gene pool is most boring, desperate and mammal appearing men should concentrate on fitness outside, instead of indoors playing with their tiny penis watching ms nasty and sitting on their dead ass and lost dick. Most male species lack discipline and need to pay someone to talk to Johnson. Johnson is lost and stuck in the grand canyon. 1 000 4u2c @4udesperados. Maybe legalize prostitution or something for these folks.
ReplyDeleteAnother fine upstanding repuglican "family values" guy, who I am sure thinks I am incapable of controlling my uterus but can't manage to control his penis.
ReplyDeleteI believe this R do nut believes that you cannot control you uterus. You have no right to make yer own decision, mistakes or choices. It is decided by old white men in congress what you do with that uterus cupcake.
DeleteWell, Bill Clinton was unfaithful to HIS wife while he was POTUS, and he'll no doubt be campaigning for her, as he did in 2008. So I don't see why Christie's brother should affect his campaign at all. Although I have no use for cheaters whatsoever, I also have no use for their public shaming unless they are running for public office and/or setting themselves up as moral paragons while judging others. Maybe the cheaters have exposure coming but their families and children, who have to live with the public shame as well, sure don't.
ReplyDeleteThat's what happens when you are a cheater, the public finds out, including wives and children.
DeleteEvery cheater gets caught and publicly named and shamed, huh? Riiiiiight.
DeleteHow could they be shamed? They are more than willing to cheat so I don't really care about their feelings. it's something called personal responsibility.
DeleteSHAME: 3a : something that brings censure or reproach;
DeleteKind of like what happened with David Vitter. He was a good Catholic family man like Chrities brother who got caught sleeping with prostitutes. It had such a negative impact on his career that he won reelection and will probably get elected the next governor of Louisiana. What a punishment.
DeleteNow I'm all the more suspicious about how quickly the Feds went after Rentboy, shutting them immediately down after not caring through near 20 years of operation. But somebody clearly knew that if Ashley could be hacked, a Rentboy exposure would be a far greater cesspool explosion.
ReplyDeleteSo wasn't Todd Christie one of the reasons Mitt Romney took a pass on picking Chris Christie for veep in 2012? :-)
ReplyDeleteThe fat fuck doesn't need more spice in his life, he needs a fucking bicycle. The Christy brothers. These two handjobs haven't seen their own dicks since Christ was a corporal.
ReplyDeleteSo, THAT Todd got caught. What about 'our' two-toned Toad? Anyone have access (and time...) to those records? He could be under different aliases - don't remember what he was using for his email when he was the shadow governor of Alaska.
ReplyDelete.
.
.
He's got his own prostitutes.
DeleteI don't think C should be held accountable for his brother's actions. Three exceptions: a. it was actually C using these services pretending to be his brother, b. C defends his brother instead of condemning his actions, and c. the services were paid for with campaign money.
ReplyDeleteAvoirdupois seems to run strongly in the Christie family of political heavyweights..
ReplyDeleteThat photo looks like Rob Ford and his brother. What ever happened to that guy?
ReplyDeleteThere's plenty about Christie to dislike, but I don't think we want to hold candidate's brothers against them.
ReplyDeleteWould you want to be judged by your siblings? All of them? Anyone who says yes, would you like to adopt my brother?
Very good point 4:07pm. If people judged me by my siblings I would be in some deep trouble.
DeleteHahaa. Well stated.
DeleteThat is both funny and honest 4:07.
Quote from the New York Times article:
ReplyDelete"The Securities and Exchange Administration settlement Todd Christie signed, dated Oct. 15, 2008, maintains that he carried out hundreds of trades that brought the firm thousands of dollars in profits at its customers’ expense, and had violated stock exchange rules.
While the investigation produced uncomfortable headlines, particularly when Christopher Christie was deliberating whether to run for governor in 2005, the windfall his brother earned on Wall Street certainly helped ingratiate him with party leaders.
Todd Christie began giving tens of thousands of dollars to New Jersey’s Republican county chairmen in 2001, at a time when they were deciding whom to recommend that the Bush administration nominate as the state’s United States attorney. Three months after his brother was sworn in at that job, Todd Christie wrote a $225,000 check to the Republican National Committee."

Read the whole article. It gets worse.
4:07--Well, I wouldn't mind being judged by my siblings as far as that goes, but I absolutely don't think anyone should be judged in terms of anyone else or in terms of anything but their own actions, so yeah, I do feel sympathy for Chris Christie insofar as people are holding this against him.
ReplyDeleteHe didn't do it. He has no responsibility for it. As much as I dislike the guy's politics, this particular attack is unfair.
And, BTW, whilst I wouldn't like to adopt your brother, I certainly would never judge you by his behavior, either...I wish you well.
Jeb! 2016 thanks you for thinking like this.
DeleteInnocent until proven guilty, no matter what family one is in.
DeleteThe possible exception that occurred to me (I'm 407) is a clan like the Palins, where it is clear that parenting is very deeply dysfunctional. But even there the IM community holds out hope that Willow and maybe younger kids can find their own paths in life.
Well according to the Teapublicans, it matters what Bill did with Monica when considering Hillary as a presidential candidate. Double standard, boys?
ReplyDeleteArguably what Bill did matters more: you choose your husband, and whether to stay with him; you don't choose your brother.
