Hillary Clinton apologizes. But for what?

Courtesy of ABC News:

Hillary Clinton on Tuesday told ABC News’ David Muir that using a personal email account while Secretary of State was a “mistake” and that she is “sorry” for it.

“I do think I could have and should have done a better job answering questions earlier. I really didn’t perhaps appreciate the need to do that,” the democratic presidential candidate told Muir in an exclusive interview in New York City. "What I had done was allowed, it was above board. But in retrospect, as I look back at it now, even though it was allowed, I should have used two accounts. One for personal, one for work-related emails. That was a mistake. I’m sorry about that. I take responsibility.”

This is the farthest Clinton has gone yet in offering an apology for her use of a private email server while Secretary of State.

You know here's the thing.

This is all the result of the Republicans beating the bushes over Benghazi, and if they had not flushed out the private e-mail server, which so fucking weak, they would have found something else.

And here's the other thing, NONE of Colin Powell or Condi Rice's e-mails have been made available for review, from the time they served as the Secretary of State, and in fact Colin Powell's were not even archived.

The excuse for Rice is that she really didn't use e-mail that often.

Yet nobody seems to find that suspicious considering the fact that these e-mails occurred during the buildup to, and execution of, the Iraq War, and would contain details of great interest to the American people.

If we don't think that sensitive and top secret information was sent through both Rice and Powell's private e-mail accounts then we are fooling ourselves.

And here is another point laid out by Massachusetts's Senator Stephen Lynch:

“We have clandestine information that is now in the hands of the Chinese,” he said, citing a recent data breach at the Office of Personnel Management. “Her information now is the only information that hasn’t been hacked.” “It’s hard to argue that if she had put it on a government server, it would have been safer.”

Exactly! There was no breach of Clinton's e-mail security, however the one that affected the State Department e-mail server was the "worst one ever."

So like I said, what in the hell is Hillary apologizing for?

I guess Hillary is apologizing because her campaign staff listen too much to the media who are going overboard trying to tell Hillary she needs to apologize.

I can hardly wait to cast my vote for Hillary Clinton. She's done nothing wrong as to the emails and has far, far more experience for the job than her of her opponents - especially as to foreign policy which will be sorely needed in the years to come.

It is not at all surprising that republicans are freaking out over the email "scandal". The bush admin admitted it deleted MILLIONS of emails. And they know WHY. And so, being classic sociopaths, of COURSE they assume everyone else is just as scheming and duplicitous as they are and are convinced they would find something to destroy Hillary if only they had those emails.

Another aspect that I NEVER see mentioned: as a former holder of a Top Secret clearance, my experience is that a lot of stuff that is classified doesn't need to be: it's already out in the public domain, or it is so innocuous as to not be worth classifying IMO. So it would be v easy to get an email with unmarked classified in it and not realize it because it is utterly unimportant -- but still technically a violation of the law to see it this way.

This is NOT a nat'l security issue, it is a PR and "marketing of the candidate" issue. As most of us grasped from the beginning.

Was listening to Morning Joe anchors going on and on about this. I almost threw my iPhone in the toilet. It is such a non issue and so sexist to expect her to apologize over and over until she achieves the appropriate level of sincerity. Ugh!

I haven't been a Morning Joe watcher in 3 years, but they are right. Hillary's tone here was FLATTTT. It's also right that her Dept said all email records had to be recorded and she was not in the clear.

I've seen this written a number of places, but if she were still a republican, people like us would be aghast and obsessed with Chelsea's inlaws legal problems with fraud etc. Chelsea married a man whose family are long time Clinton friends.

There is ZERO chance Gryphen wouldn't report that if Hillary were GOP. We are the people who obsessed over non-politiical, innocent teens on myspace in 2008 - which still doesn't matter.

I am not saying a person's inlaws should be dragged into the fray, as that is a most immoral journalistic action in reality. But the double standards here are glaring.

The in laws don't need to be dragged into anything. For Christ's sake, leave the Clintons alone. They have constantly been gone after and nothing has ever been proven except for Bill using his hands as to sexual activities with Monica.

Hillary Clinton would make one hell of a POTUS and we need her to follow the two terms of work that President Obama has accomplished. She has the experience and is more than qualified for the position!

Gryphen, how quickly you libtards forget that the FIRST world leader to have his own private email server was none other than Germany's former chancellor Adolph Hitler.

Some anonymous historians even claim that Der Fuehrer's email server was critical to the planning and execution of the genocidal Holocaust.

Sure, it didn't attract a lot of attention because no one knew what 'email' was in 1932 but are you really so naive as to claim that excuses Hillary's own confessed crime against humanity?

If you were fair-minded and as critical of Hillary as you are of The Screechy Wretch(tm) you'd have no choice but to take up the severe conservative patriot's rallying cry: "DEATH TO THE... um... PRIVATE EMAIL SERVER USER!"

It's the right thing to do.

Hillary did not have to apologize for anything. My God, have Bush or Cheney or Condi Rice ever apologized for lying this country into an insanely costly war?

  11. Because saying you made a mistake and apologizing for it is not enough. We must know why you made the mistake. And even then we won't be happy.

Had she insulted Mexicans or lied her way into a war, well, no harm no foul.

  12. Would Democrats stop apologizing for everything, especially when they didn't do anything wrong!

When are they going to learn to stand up for themselves?

I only listen to Limbaugh while cleaning my four toilets.
I listen to him and his ditto heads whine and whine on those
days. Of course I talk back at these brain dead
idiots . Today he spent one hour and a half bashing Hillary
and mocking her voice and the way she forms her words.
This is the same guy that stands up for the screech, word
salad, crazy lady Palin. My husband walks by and says,
"who are you talking to." I say" my toilet cleaning buddy.
Limbaugh . "There is something about dirty toilets and
    Limbaugh that just go together.
