So the Jade Helm 15 exercises ended today. How is Obama's takeover of Texas going?

Courtesy of Right Wing Watch:

For most of the summer, a military training exercise called Jade Helm 15 captivated the imaginations of the Right, striking fear into the hearts of Republican presidential candidates, members of Congress and even governors. Latching on to a conspiracy theory that originated in the far-right fringes of the internet, they warned that the training exercise was in fact part of a plot by President Obama to invade Texas, impose martial law and abolish civil liberties.

At one point, one-third of Republican voters and half of all Tea Party supporters feared that the federal government was “trying to take over Texas,” with another 28 percent of GOP voters saying that they were not sure whether or not the plot existed.

Outlets such as WorldNetDaily and InfoWars, far-right sites that also regularly host Republican politicians, led the way in spreading the conspiracy theories. But the theories soon spread beyond the far-right, and suddenly people had to debate whether the government would use secret tunnels, closed Walmart stores and cattle cars as part of an increasingly fantastical plot to eviscerate American freedom.

Unsurprisingly, the people who were pushing conspiracy theories about the military training exercise fell silent when it became clear that none of the scenarios they predicted had materialized. Jade Helm 15 proceeded as planned over the summer officially ended today without a federal takeover of Texas.

Well that's a little unsatisfying.

After all there was  SO much hype about all of this.

The wing nuts created a Counter Jade Helm organization, Governor Abbott signed a law creating a Fort Knox just for Texans so that those dirty federal agents could not get their hands on their money, and some "patriots" were even plotting to kill US soldiers in response to paranoia about the establishment of martial law.

And all of that was for what? Nothing?

I mean didn't we at least take Ted Cruz and Governor Abbott as political prisoners?

No?

Gee one would almost think that these people were just incredibly paranoid and had panicked over nothing.

Nah!

Yo G, a plane crashed today in Alaska…4 people died how do you like that shit…things like that happen, dontchaknow…like the elderly woman’s house getting jolted by MEA in coordination with Roger Purcell and the local fire department…ironically was named after the widows husband…last on the scene of course…neighbors watched this unfold as Roger delegated the photographer to take a pic…that never later surfaced in newspapers…it didn’t even make the news…

Or the other crimes committed…like the dead girl found Rogers property? And what happened to Curtis Menard…that is because he was the biological father of Track Palin…nice folks hu? Yeah Don’t Ask Don’t Tell…or No Child Left Behind…lol…well it appears the UN courts will hear the case before the US courts do…shrug..sounds to me like it will be international news…too bad for Sarah and the USA government…

I don't understand what you all get from mocking a fellow poster. Like anyone else, he has a right to tell his story. You are under no obligation to read or believe anything. Me personally, I believe there's a huge story brewing. The poster can't say everything right now, but if you've been following along, it makes sense.

Please stop trying to intimidate other posters. Thanks.

    5. I just wish half of what he posted made sense. He's speaking a kind of conspiracy lingo that seems aimed at Palin directly and I sometimes wonder whether it's part of a private shakedown.

Those people in Texas and even their governor are really touched in the head! They watch too many Chuck Norris movies and play too many war games on their computers. They thinking is so skewed to the negative that these paranoid people will cause some sort of an attack on innocent people. They need to get out of religion all together and begin to hang out with rational thinking people and change their thought processes or they are heading to prison when they finally kill someone. Their conspiracy irrational thinking is driving them nuts!

the Texas Nationalist Movement wants a repeat a century and a half later, and thinks the March GOP primary is the place to start.

The Nederland-based Texas independence group is circulating a petition aimed at getting a non-binding vote onto the GOP primary ballot over whether "the state of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation."

Their goal? 75,000 signatures from registered voters by Dec. 1 — more than the 66,894 the Texas Secretary of State's office says the group needs to get the language on the ballot.

The people who perpetrated this nonsense should be ashamed of themselves.
And they should be publicly shamed by the media.
From today forward, every single thing they say should be laughed at and mocked and they should be reminded what utter assholes they made of themselves with their Jade Helm nonsense.

They are still stuck with Cruz, Goehmert, Abbott, Bush and Perry.

I love his humor. But it's like running over a yellow jacket nest with the mower. You get away a few feet and then have to run like hell when you see the swarm. Those idiots don't have the intellect to appreciate the joke and all they hear is that mower running over them and they strike back. I am so glad ex POTUS gets lifetime Secret Service protection. I'm terribly afraid for President Obama when he leaves office.

Speaking of JADE HELM. Tonight I had an experience that was both bizarre and troubling.

I live in a rural Virginia county. Almost all of our county offices are up for election in November. The county Republican and Democratic parties sponsored a candidate forum at the local high school. Each candidate made a statement, was asked two questions by the two party chairmen, then the floor was opened for questions from the audience.

A woman asked a question of the sheriff candidates that at first I thought was wacky and bizarre. Then I realized just how sad the situation is that led to her question. She asked a rambling, disconnected question about "that JADE HELM thing . . . I don't know much about it." The thrust of her question was would the candidate for sheriff obey federal orders or obey the Constitution. Of course they said they would follow the Constitution.

She rambled on and on: ". . . the states are independent and state law is superior to federal law . . . ;" ". . . with so many changes in federal law how can we trust you to obey state law . . . ;" ". . . I'm so worried about this JADE HELM thing . . . it's supposed to be ending today but I'm worried about what the federal government will do."

Finally it dawned on me: This poor woman clearly gets her information from rightwing news sources and, likely, from chain emails that scream FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. How sad that someone is so terrified of something that simply does not exist. From her rambling "question" it was clear she was convinced the "federal government" was on the verge of "taking over" something, somewhere.

It didn't help matters when the local Tea Party president stood up and reinforced this woman's fears.

How sad that this woman -- and, no doubt, thousands of other like her -- have been so filled with rightwing conspiracy horseshit that they are terrified of what even their county sheriff will do.

One question what about those closed Walmarts with "plumping problems" and yet they were completely gutted? What about all those convoys seen all over the country, not just the ones part of Jade Helm states, and what about the reports of U.N. tanks and personnel, what are they doing inside the U.S.? What about the 45 million rounds DHS ordered? Is it possible that the hawks in the pentagon know something and they are gearing up for a fight with Obummer's special guards? 19 Secret Executive Orders passed in last month, anyone want to guess what they are? What about candidate Ben Carson's statement that their will be no election only anarchy, is he a nutter too?
I hate to tell you folks but I don't think this is over not by a long shot!
