I love it when President Obama trolls the Republicans.

Courtesy of the You Tube site:

US President Barack Obama has hit out at his Republican rivals, accusing them of being "so down on America" and always suggesting that "everything is terrible".

"They are gloomy. They are like Grumpy Cat," the president added, comedically referencing the feline internet sensation, as he addressed the Democratic national committee's women's leadership forum.

Have to admit, he DOES have a point.

Donald Trump: Our country is in serious trouble. We don't have victories anymore. We used to have victories, but we don't have them. When was the last time anybody saw us beating, let's say China in a trade deal?

Jeb Bush: “If this election is about how we’re going to fight to get nothing done, then I don’t want any part of it. I don’t want to be elected president to sit around and see gridlock just become so dominant that people literally are in decline in their lives. That is not my motivation. I’ve got a lot of really cool things I could do other than sit around, being miserable, listening to people demonize me and me feeling compelled to demonize them. That is a joke. Elect Trump if you want that,” he said.

Ted Cruz: “You look at our Constitution, you look at our Bill of Rights, this is an administration that seems bound and determined to violate every single one of our Bill or Rights,” he said, adding “I don’t know that they’ve yet violated the Third Amendment, but I expect them to start quartering soldiers in people’s homes soon.”

Ben Carson: “I mean very much like Nazi Germany — and I know you’re not supposed to talk about Nazi Germany but I don’t care about political correctness — you know, you had a government using its tools to intimidate a population,” Carson said. “We now live in a society where people are afraid to say what they actually believe, and it's because of the PC police, it's because of politicians, because of news — all of these things are combining to stifle people's conversation.”

Yeah I think the President is really onto something here.

Someone needs to put together the image of Jeb that G used in his recent post with a grumpy cat shot. Oh, and then that one of Webb from the debate, looking like he has a stick up his b*tt.

When pressed during a CNN interview about why he thinks federal workers should be fired for not doing their jobs while he has missed the most votes in the Senate, Sen. Marco Rubio put his foot in his mouth and said that voting in the Senate is not important for a Senator.

    Video:

...Sen. Rubio tried to explain away his absences by arguing that the Senate votes don’t mean anything, “A lot of these votes don’t mean anything. They’re not going to pass, and even if they did, the President would veto them.”

Gangel reminded Rubio of his comments on the Senate floor that federal workers who aren’t performing should be fired, “Someone might say you’re not showing up. You’re not doing your job by voting.”

Caught in his hypocrisy, Rubio tried to dig his way out, “Not true. Because voting is not the most important part of the job. The most important thing that a Senator does is constituent services. ”

Gangel stopped him, “Wait a minute. Votes aren’t important. Intelligence Committee hearing aren’t important.”

His statements are the most idiotic I've ever heard a politician state! Amazing! I'm sure his words are going to be used against him and they should!! What a joke!

During the GWB administration, media outlets were publishing happiness indexes and surveys every other week. They were forever going on and on about how Republicans were so much happier than Democrats or conservatives were so much more content than liberals and on and on like it was a permanent condition that had nothing to do with who was running the country. I haven't seen one goddam happiness or survey or contentment graph since Barack Obama became president. I wonder why that is.

Every issue they tackle in their wrong-headed ways is another nail in their election coffin, as if they are subconsciously trying to destroy their party....who can we alienate this week?

    Fellow Democrats ~

We cannot be our usual lazy selves. We MUST vote.

Look what happened when we let the teabillies in the door because we sat out that seemingly unimportant election!

(beating myself up but vowing to do better and sorry for what happened)

Absolutely. It's not to early to make sure your elderly family members, friends and neighbors have their IDs in order, too. Republicans have made voting for those without drivers licenses invalid. Well, my elderly mother didn't have a driver's license because she had no business driving and didn't want too. But she still wanted to vote. Make sure those you know that aren't licensed still have proper ID so they can vote.

People fought for my right to vote and it would be disrespectful to toss away that sacrifice just because it's inconvenient or I don't think it's important enough.

Every vote is important. Every election is important. Even for dogcatcher.

Democrats need to get over this apathy of only voting in Presidential elections.

You don't vote, you can't complain.

By not voting all sorts of shit gets passed that after the fact they don't like and complain about.

Well, hey, you didn't do your duty as a citizen.

Great article, Gryph -- loved the pics!!!

By the way, in spite of what they said over at the Pee Pond, Sarah Palin DID NOT run in the Marine Corps Marathon today. She was not even close to DC.

Rumor has it she's in Vegas cruising the bars for Bristol's baby daddy.

MYMISTAKE!!!! Marine Corps Marathon site shows Sarah Palin, age 51, Wasilla, AK, registered with bib number 11.

The race is all but over (1:45 PM, Eastern) and she is not showing on the MCM site with a time. Looks as though she dropped out, howeer, that could change when official results are posted.

      Delete
    2. Anonymous9:54 AM

Looks as thought Sarah either (1) did not finish, or, (2) did not show.

I just checked the results of the female 51-54 age group, 544 entrants, Sarah does not show as a finisher in her age group.

      Delete
    3. Anonymous11:00 AM

She never even started the race. The bib's have timer/tracker chips in them whereby a racer can be tracked by map and Palin's never moved from the starting line. Hubs saw her a few weeks ago and said she looked ghastly and like she "needed a sandwich". He laughed when I said she was running a marathon as he said she barely looked as if she could stand for 3 hours, much less run. Perhaps she registered long ago, given her low bib number, and never got around to training...

    4. Anonymous11:03 AM

She must have quit again. She registered but did not run. I looked at the results of her age group and there are no recorded times for her.

Anonymous at 11:00 AM nailed it.

On the MCM website is a search feature where you can search by name or other info. A search for the name "Palin" reveals:

Sarah Palin; Wasilla, AK; Female; age 51; bib number 11.

The low bib number indicates she signed up the minute sign-up opened. The bibs have RFID chips in them that are picked up by sensors along the route. I plugged in my cell phone number to be notified of her progress -- never received a notification.

To be certain, I just now checked the MCM results page, female, 50-54 -- 853 runners in that age group -- no record of bib 11 or anyone named Palin starting or finishing.

Looks as though she never showed up.

I ran the MCM twice (88, 89) and the Honolulu in 1990. I normally weigh 185 - 190. Marathon training, especially the last few weeks, causes a lot of weight loss. I weighed around 160-165 the day before each marathon, which would explain some of her appearance.

Oh, well . . . she quits again.

Or maybe she was ready to leave for DC a few days ago and suddenly her next grandchild appeared -- ya' think???

You're very generous, OR, but she's not that thin from training.

    OOOPSSSSSS!!! BIG MISTAKE.

The MCM website shows Sarah PALIN, Wasilla, AK, Bib number 11, age 51, as entered in the MCM.

Looks like she entered. Did she run??

Official results will be posted later.

If she really was there and ran, she would definetly make it a spectacle. She loves the spotlight, publicity so if she really did run this marathon she'd have it all over her shouty face page. I'm skeptical.

    3. Anonymous11:32 AM

Someone else indicated Sarah Palin did not run the race! I would think it will be pretty easy to verify.

Remember, the bitch loves the lime light. If there are no pictures of her anywhere in the race, you can be pretty damned sure she didn't participate.

Plus, she'd be too out of shape to do it!

      Delete
    4. The race had tracking for all participants so there's no question that Palin did not run.

She probably drunk-entered. She would never "run" a race where everyone is tracked.

      Delete
    5. Anonymous6:29 PM

Sarah Palin did indeed enter the race today, but as far as I can see never started or finished it. Also, it was not someone entering her as a joke, there was an article in the MCM program about her running that included quotes from her. In addition, her bib number wasn't low because she "signed up in the first few minutes," it was low because those numbers are traditionally reserved for "celebrities"/elites in big races.

      Delete
    6. Anonymous7:04 PM

She probably quit when she found out about the tracking chips. Makes it too hard to cheat.

They do nothing but obstruct, throw fear and ignorance to the masses and are anti women as to contraception and abortion

Plus, they are the worst examples of being supposed Christians on the planet!

I suspect we are going to see many of them lose their seats on the national, state and local levels in the upcoming election cycle.
