Mississippi man blows up Wal-Mart because they stopped selling Confederate battle flags. You're not helping.

Courtesy of the Clarion Ledger:

A man is charged after allegedly setting off an explosive at a Mississippi Walmart Sunday morning.

Marshall W. Leonard, 61, of Tupelo, will be charged with placing an explosive device. Under Mississippi Code 97-37-25 he could get life in prison if convicted, the Tupelo Daily Journal reported.

Tupelo Police Chief Bart Aguirre said a vehicle pulled up to an entrance of the Walmart in North Gloster around 1:30 a.m.

“A white male got out, lit the package and threw it in the vestibule,” said Aguirre. “There was an employee on break, and the suspect told him, ‘You better run.

The employee did run and the device went off harming no one and doing only minimal damage to the store.

The reason for the attack? I thought you would never ask:

A supporter of the Mississippi flag, Leonard railed against anyone who wanted it removed because it contained the Confederate battle flag. He spoke out against Walmart when the retail giant stop selling items that contained the Confederate battle flag.

Last Wednesday, Leonard posted threats on the Daily Journal Facebook page.

“Journal corporate, you are on final warning,” he wrote Oct. 28. “You are part of the problem. As a result of this, y’all are going down, along with Walmart, WTVA, Reeds department store, and all the rest of the anti-American crooks. I’m not kidding. No messing around anymore!”

Nothing says supporters of the Confederate battle flag are non-racist rational people who are only concerned with preserving their Southern heritage like blowing up the local Wal-Mart with a homemade bomb, don'tcha think?

My favorite part is that his tiny little bomb was essentially just as impotent as his ravings on Facebook.

"Y'all are going down."

boom!

"Y'all down yet?"

I think we are reaching a point, thankfully, where the curtain has been pulled back.

So very sick and tired of stupid, hate, and willful ignorance. We were not done any favors in 2008...years of harm to this country and history will remember just that.

    1. Progressive thinkers will always remember, but as for the regressives, they have selective memory -- it's part of their psychological make-up of delusion -- believing what they are told (over and over) by their leaders.

They have no independent thinking capability.

Being a right wing nut or Christianist, they have committed intellectual suicide. There is no communicating with dead brains.

Well, at least he warned the employee off. Of course, he's still an idiot.

What I am wondering about is why the warning wasn't picked up by the authorities. Surely SOMEONE noticed the posting he made! Or all the people there dumb enough to slough off things like that? Or was it that the police just didn't believe it?

There are literally millions of far right Teaparty lunatics making similar claims on facebook, blogs, twitter, reddit, twitchy, and the entire nutcase blogosphere.

This is all fed from treasonous idiots like Palin, Rush, Levin, Hannity, Alex Jones, and the Christian Taliban leaders like Bryan Fischer and Franklin Graham.

When you have people claiming to represent GOD, then all bets are off, because the sheeple will follow them and do whatever they say.

Anyone remember a first class idiot saying "don't retreat, reload"?

Anyone remember gun sites on a map pictured over Democratic party headquarters?

I am quite well aware of all the postings and such that are made daily across the nation and I can agree with the fact most of them are fake.

This one, however, was local and specifically sent to the local paper's Facebook page.

  5. Y'know folks, there's something called cloth that you can buy, and it comes in lots of colors. And there's something called thread and a thingy called a needle that you can use to have the thread attach the different colored pieces of cloth together. Wal-mart sells something called scissors that you can use to cut the cloth into any shape you'd like. If Wal-mart won't sell you your precious frickin' flag, sew one yourself!

Oh, and there's something called paper and colored markers too that you can use to draw whatever little emblems you like. You can use tape to attach them to the windows of you car. Wal-mart sells all that too.

Why would anyone want to blow up the place that sells them all their art supplies that help them express their 1st Amendment Freedom of Speech?
(Yes, this was written with much snark.)

The only requirement for joining Mensa is being sufficiently good at writing IQ tests. Some things correlate with that, of course, but …

If this person is actually a member, and starts blowing things up in the name of Mensa then he might indeed be kicked out for "acts inimical to Mensa."

A bit of a snag about this, though. Even Anonymous has backed off the report. This will go round and round.

  10. I'm not much for the point-and-laugh mood this morning, when apparently the supremely intelligent citizens of Kentucky yesterday opted to send a scrubbed up but similar version of this very mentality to their governor's mansion. Of course of he's (Matt Bevin) anti-gay, sympathetic to Kim Davis(!), hoping to monkey-wrench the Affordable Care Act in his state, and no friend to women.

Here in my little corner of Virginia I couldn't do much to help my party this round. A state Senate and House of Delegates seat each went to Republicans running unopposed, and everything down-ticket (county clerk, treasurer, sheriff, school board members, etc.) was listed as independents. I proudly wear my "I voted" sticker anyway.
