Donald Trump proposed demanding $5 million from CNN in order for him to participate in the next Republican presidential debate during a rally in Macon, Ga. on Monday.
Trump felt the payment — which he promised to donate to "Wounded Warriors or the vets" — was in order because CNN "doesn't treat me properly" and because he felt he was responsible for the high ratings CNN got during the GOP debate it hosted in September.
"CNN had 23 million people. It was the biggest show in the history of CNN," Trump said. And the billionaire businessman is reopening negotiations over whether he will lend his star power to the debate the network is hosting Dec. 15.
"How about I tell CNN that I'm not gonna do the next debate?" Trump asked the crowd.
"I won't do the debate unless they pay me $5 million, all of which money goes to the Wounded Warriors or to vets," Trump said, following a segue into how people who are "really, really, really smart like I am," don't need teleprompters.
Apparently Trump was a little pissy about the CNN reporting concerning that meeting he had with the black pastors.
What a big orange crybaby.
I hope he boycotts the debate and lets the actual, serious candidates discuss the issues.
Of course that means that Ted Cruz and Ben Carson have to stay home as well.
He's insane.....that's all.
ReplyDeleteHe's a Bill Clinton plant.
DeleteThat is the only sane explanation for Trump's bodacious pomposity.
8:17 AM Are you a c4p plant?
Delete9:09 AM Bodacious pomposity is a bad thing.
DeleteDonald Trump should make CNN and everybody else pay him for his appearances. Why not? Trump is a important busy man and if you want his appearance or services, PAY THE MAN!
ReplyDeleteReally...screw him, go back to being a reality star and quit running for PUBLIC OFFICE. It doesn't pay that well.
Delete4:37....
DeleteAre you fucking kidding me? NO person running for President should get paid for their appearances. They should be paying the networks for their air time.
Besides, that pompous racist windbag shouldn't even be allowed to run.
My God you are stupid for even making such a comment.
I believe 4:37 actually IS kidding.
DeleteA shame we can't pay him to go away. But Trump is such a fat headed extortionist, the price would be exorbitant.
DeleteM.
He seems to confuse being a politician running for office with being a plain old celebrity, famous or infamous.
ReplyDeleteBased on his reasoning, he should get a percentage of all the ads in all the newspapers and blogs that run stories on him, positive or negative. And part of the profits of any tv or cable channel that includes his name in its coverage. Can he reach far enough to demand money from foreign news sources?
Why give the money to him, and not directly to a veterans' organization? Why must he be the middle man? Where do his accountants start to work on this, and where's the transparency of his donations? Doesn't he get to write off his contribution to the vets as a charitable contribution?
CNN should just call his bluff and leave him off the stage. If he demands to be paid to play, then he's not Presidential material.
It reminds me, tangentially, of Sarah Palin hinting that Tina Fey owed HER money because she made Tina Fey famous.
Grifters gonna grift. They nothing else.
Excellent assessment. It's a scam. The only way he knows how to operate.

DeleteWell said...how many of these clowns are running because they want to make more money with their books/television shows/radio shows etc.
DeleteThis is the future of the country and they are playing at this, nothing more.
Again with the "because CNN 'doesn't treat me properly'" whine. Can you imagine the head of a country who seeks revenge on every sleight, real or perceived?
DeleteI can: every dictator & despot that ever lived.
Donald Trump does make money for all the shows, tv stations and networks by appearing on their shows.
ReplyDeleteSo is he a paid entertainer or a presidential candidate? Presidential candidates are not paid to appear at debates.
DeleteSo does President Obama get viewers. Since he is actually the president, maybe he should be paid TEN million dollars for every appearance?
DeleteSo?
DeleteI dislike people who take all of the credit that they did not earn or deserve. Trump's grandiosity is on daily display. He seems to believe he is the center of the universe and believe his own lies.
Delete4:59 AM Is you nose up his ass now? Have you graduated from the Palin ass worship group?
DeleteIt would be interesting to find out how much (if any!) Trump pays to appear on the various networks OR if they pay him to appear?
DeleteHe selects where he'll show up - i.e. has not accepted Rachel Maddow's open invite yet on MSNBC!
He's so concerned about his ratings and continually says he gains the ratings, not the show itself.
Personally, I'm sick of seeing him being catered too.
The media needs to focus on the other candidates and that alone would frost Trump's ass. The buffoon needs to be taken down!
I want to be paid because CNN "doesn't treat me properly" wahhhh wahhhhh
ReplyDeleteDonald Trump would you like cheese with your whine?
Since when was rimning for president about TV ratings? Polls=ratings sort of. They should only have debates aired on network channels and if you don't like it don't show up. You aren't the only clown on the car that people watch. This ia serious business picking a president. It should not be about entertainment you blowhard. We don't need another businessman with a limitless ego and a propensity for bankruptcy in the White House.
ReplyDeleteIf CNN were smart, which they are not, they would publicly ask him if that us how he would be as president - if bribery would be his modus operandi, where people would have to pay to play.
ReplyDeleteNot bribery. Extortion.
DeletePlease, oh please, oh please CNN call this clown's bluff.
ReplyDeleteSheesh
Amen. Who the hell does he think he is?
DeleteWhy does that picture of Trump look like he just said, "Hey God, pull my finger."?
ReplyDeleteTrump: "..."really, really, really smart like I am," don't need teleprompters."
ReplyDelete------------------------------
No, egomaniacs who do not prepare ahead of time to deliver a coherent, logical, engaging, persuasive speech because they think anything that falls out of their bloviating piehole is perfect as is don't need teleprompters.
Smart and sensible speakers use teleprompters.
Speeches are not meant to be and do not need to be memorized unless you are performing in a stage play.
The dick makes me want to regurgitate every time I see his photo or accidentally view him on TV! He's horribly unattractive, obese and has the weirdest mouth action of any man I've seen in my life.
ReplyDeleteHe's too nasty, reactive, a self-declared racist (blacks, browns and Muslims!) with zero common sense! He'll never be elected POTUS!
"Actual serious candidates?" Does that mean Hillary and Bernie are debating?
ReplyDeleteWhaaa. I'm gonna take my toys and go home. He is the biggest, orangiest 5 year old running for office that I know of in this world. I can't believe that anyone would give him the time of day. He needs his juice and pacifier and then a really long nap.
ReplyDeleteProtester Thrown Out of Trump Rally Nails it On Why His Supporters Are So Scary (VIDEO)
ReplyDelete"They let their fears drive them. And that turns them into weapons.”
“Some of the things the dudes behind me said: ‘Kill all Muslims,’ ‘I wish I had my piece on me, dude I want to shoot someone so bad,” Sam said. “And the thing Trump is really good at is getting otherwise rational people to clamp down harder on their fears and prejudices,” Sam said.

Let’s not mince words: Donald Trump is a bigot and a racist.
ReplyDeleteSome will think this an outrageous label to apply to the frontrunner for a major party’s presidential nomination. Ordinarily, I would agree that name-calling is part of what’s wrong with our politics.
But there is a greater imperative not to be silent in the face of demagoguery.
...It might be possible to explain away any one of Trump’s outrages as a mistake or a misunderstanding. But at some point you’re not merely saying things that could be construed as bigoted: You are a bigot.

See this is DRump, money only he wont see people at all, just money. He wont be a decent prez.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile Mr President has served the us well.
I was unaware that billions of $$$$ caused insanity, such as tRump is displaying. Seems it does, tho, look at the Koch boys...
ReplyDeleteSome escape the insanity - Warren Buffet for example.
Serious GOP candidates? - not one qualifies
ReplyDeleteThey should call his bluff and hold he debate without him.
ReplyDeleteBet he would show up anyway demanding to participate.
The debate would be better without him.
And he can't take that chance.
Donald, don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you
