Joe Scarborough refuses to allow Donald Trump to bloviate, instead cuts him off and goes to commercial.

Courtesy of the New York Times:

After Mr. Trump repeatedly interrupted questions about his plan to ban Muslim immigration from the co-host Mika Brzezinski, Mr. Scarborough scolded Mr. Trump for not allowing the hosts to ask the candidate questions and, finally, threatened to send the program into a commercial break if Mr. Trump did not stop speaking.

“Go to break, go to break right now,” Mr. Scarbourough eventually demanded.

When Mr. Trump kept talking, Mr. Scarborough interrupted him: “Hold on, Donald. You got to let us ask questions. You can’t just talk.”

Mr. Trump kept talking anyway. “I’m not just talking,” he said.

As the exchange intensified, a clearly displeased Mr. Scarborough repeatedly tried to stop Mr. Trump from speaking over him.

“Go to break, then, Joe,” Mr. Trump said, tauntingly.

So Mr. Scarborough did. The segment abruptly ended.

After the break Donald Trump remained on the phone and was much calmer and more compliant, which goes to show that he really needs somebody to stand up to him once in awhile. And as much as I dislike Scarborough he DID show more backbone than most of the people who interview Donald Trump.

I usually do not watch Morning Joe, but MSNBC has been rerunning this exchange all day so it made it hard to miss it.

And I'm glad I did watch it because simply put it was mesmerizing TV.

Even though he was much less vitriolic for the remainder of the interview Trump still said some truly crazy things, which included having people stopped at the border and asked about their religious beliefs before allowing them into the country, and rejecting any who self identify as Muslim.

I have NO idea how Trump thinks something like that could be carried out, but I DO know that it is absolutely unconstitutional.

What a charming little set piece. If this were important in any way to anyone it would be, first of all, NOT a phoned in session. Next, it would take place between two actual people, not a couple of reality show actors.

God, but Trump has the ugliest face on any male I've ever encountered!

I don't see how the Republican party could or would nominate him to run for POTUS! Does anyone else, besides me, think he is going to ruin his business relationships throughout the world?

Mr. Trump has screwed himself royally in all walks of his life - to include his family members, I would think!

He's a bully, ego driven and not as smart as he thinks he is!

  7. Crazy people can't be reasoned with. They have their own immutable logic. Sarah Palin will never understand why she is so loathed. Ditto Trump.

He has fallen below Cruz in Iowa in the polls: let's see what he says next to try to get above Cruz (who is his own brand of crazy). Jeezus is America (and the world) in trouble if these stupid voters can't see the GOP for what it is. They didn't in 2012...

And it's the media's own fault for not taking that Blowhard seriously before this. Today, Huff Post is taking their coverage of tRump out of their Entertainment Section (!). Better hope it's better late than never, not too little too late.

It really disturbs me that the media lets him talk on these shows after he says these racists statements. I love Hardball with Chris M, but couldn't watch it last night because they went live to Trump's campaign speech. What the heck? And then he was on GMA this morning. No other candidate gets all of this air time.

I'm no fan of Joes, but he deserves credit for doing what he did. I like Tamryn Hall's style of taking out the trash, when the commercial's over, it's just her talking then introducing a new guest. There's an old saying "Not in my house", and as a guest, if he had brains, he'd conduct himself accordingly.
What was even more disturbing to me, was the ticker, someone tossed a severed pig's head at a Mosque in Philadelphia. As an atheist, it would never cross my mind to desecrate the houses of the holy, respect is a two way street, and Donald Trump is to blame for this domestic terrorism.
Why does the GOP allow him to go on like this? They're condoning it by their tepid responses, shitting their pants while Trump makes fools of fools?
Let me explain something to Donald, they had a child, and it takes a hell of a lot more to raise a child than the loan they were able to get. But you've got money, I'm sure you'll foot the bill to raise an innocent orphan with two crazy dead parents.

White supremacists love Donald Trump and his approach to foreign policy. They call him the "ultimate savior" and their "glorious leader."

"Heil Donald Trump - THE ULTIMATE SAVIOR."

That's what Andrew Anglin, publisher of the neo-Nazi website Daily Stormer, had to say in response to Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump's call for a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States."

"Finally: someone speaks sense," Anglin wrote, pasting Trump's new proposal under the headline "Glorious Leader Calls For Complete Ban on All Moslems."

"Make America White Again!" his post concludes.

Trump denies plans to visit majority-Muslim Jordan WASHINGTON (AP) —

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday denied an Associated Press report that he planned to visit the majority-Muslim kingdom of Jordan at the end of December.

The AP report and Trump's denial came one day after his controversial proposal to temporarily ban all Muslims from entering the United States to protect the nation from Islamic terrorism.

Trump tweeted Tuesday, "Despite my great respect for King Abdullah II, I will not be visiting Jordan at this time. This is in response to the false @AP report."

Sarah Palin we haven't forgotten you. What is it Sarah? You said you didn't have all the information after viewing the video of your Donald Trump mocking the disabled man. Well you've had enough time to figure out what happened. Sarah since you have a degree in journalism, why not share what your investigative journalistic skills uncovered?

    *******************

    Sarah your silence is troubling!
Do you stand with Trig or Trump?

Has Sarah Palin figured out if Donnie Trump mocked a person with disabilities or not?

What more information does Sarah Palin need to decide?

Maybe Sarah thinks we forgot she has a decision to make?

Sarah we're still waiting for you to figure out what side of the road youre standing on. Do you condone what Donnie Trump did to a disabled man?

    Immoral Minority:
    Thursday, December 03, 2015

Sarah Palin is not convinced that Donald Trump mocked a person with disabilities, because she does not trust the news.

Palin goes on with her attempt to give Trump a pass:

“Well again, I haven’t known what the whole context is, you know,” Palin added. “We’ve been uh — delved into and dived into — this book tour, so, you know, I haven’t really turned on the new in the past couple of days. But again—”

“But respectfully, but respectfully, you’ve seen the footage, right,” interjected radio host Michael Smerconish. Palin responded she had, and if Trump mocked an individual it would be “terrible.”

“Oh yeah, I I saw the footage, I think it was just yesterday, or two days ago,” said Palin. “Yeah. And um, again, if that was mocking an individual, if that’s accurate, then, no, you don’t — I — it’s terrible, its terrible.”

“But um, again, I’m not gonna buy into the narrative without knowing all the facts that he purposefully was talking about, um, a New York Times reporter or editor who had the special needs — yeah, I won’t buy into it until I know the facts, but I apply that to every issue. I’m not gonna just buy into what I’m seeing on TV because I don’t trust everything that I see on TV and hear on the news.”

He does not want to be president, can you imagine how this pampered bully would handle all the meetings and speeches and demands on his time. He is way too spoiled to be a government employee in any fashion. He is doing this so he can get kicked off the GOP ticket...CNN told him to fuck off about the 5 million to do the debate. This is his plan...after he loses he will still have the faithful, just like Palin. You ever notice where he is doing all these speeches??? Way down south where the stupidest sheep live...I hate to say it but I wouldn't be surprised if someone took a shot at him the way hes going. Nazi Trump

Trump to become an independent candidate?

Donald Trump's comments have caused chaos in the Republican Party, abruptly pitting party leaders against their own presidential front-runner and risking their longtime drive to attract minorities.

Undeterred, Trump fired a searing warning via Twitter to fellow Republicans criticising his proposal. A majority of his supporters, he tweeted, would vote for him if he left the party and ran as an independent.

The crossfire between Trump and frustrated Republicans became a media blur the day after the billionaire businessman announced his plan. Party elders, meanwhile, warned that too much criticism might indeed push him to launch a third-party bid that could hand the presidential election to the Democrats.

And Republicans up for re-election in the Senate grew terse in the Capitol hallways as they were asked again and again to respond to Trump's remarks - a glimpse of their political futures if the former reality show star captures the Republican nomination.

"This is not conservatism," declared House Speaker Paul Ryan, the Republican Party's top elected leader. "What was proposed yesterday is not what this party stands for. And more importantly, it's not what this country stands for."
