Two Fox News talking heads get suspended for being potty mouths.

Courtesy of Variety:

Fox News has suspended two on-air contributors in the wake of crude language they used on different programs on Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network Monday to discuss President Obama.

“Earlier today, Fox contributors Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Stacey Dash made comments on different programs that were completely inappropriate and unacceptable for our air,”said Bill Shine, senior executive vice president of programming for both networks, in a prepared statement. “Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel do not condone the use of such language, and have suspended both Peters and Dash for two weeks.”

The two networks are both owned by 21st Century Fox.

Peters made his comments on a Fox Business Network program hosted by Stuart Varney on Fox Business, using the word “p—y” to describe the President’s remarks on terrorism delivered Sunday evening. Dash (pictured, above) while speaking on Fox News’ “Outnumbered,” said that the President didn’t “give a s–t” about terrorism.

Personally I'm a little surprised that Fox News suspended them.

After all it really does not sound that much different from the usual crap that is said about the President on that network.

Of course if this were a REAL news outlet they would have been fired instead of simply suspended.

P.S. For those who keep asking who this Stacy Dash person is, she is a sometime actress whose biggest role was as Alicia Silverstone's black friend in the movie "Clueless."

Which of course also describes her understanding of topics discussed on Fox News.

  2. I hope the condition of their return does not include the ubiquitous apologetic-sounding non-apology. We know they said what they really felt.

The Dixie Chicks are musical artists who exercised their right to free speech at a concert venue. It is common for musicians and artists to use their celebrity to espouse their personal beliefs.

These commenters on Faux news are paid employees who are supposed to have journalistic integrity. They are supposed to give their expert opinion based on their knowledge and experience. You know, being a journalist used to be a profession with ethics. When I was a kid tuning into watch the news was to become informed and the the place to spout insults and biases was at the family dinner table.

What the Dixie Chicks, Natalie Maines, said was nothing as ugly as what these two said. Seriously.

5"34 that is my point, which I did not make very well. Dixie Chicks said the truth about Bush and you'd think it was the end of the world. These
'reporters" should be fired and marginalized much more. Sixie Chicks lost their careers.

Martin Basheer. Anybody remember him? Remember what word he used to get his ass fired? Oh, that's right, MSNBC management, a bunch of scared, whipped p#×*&%*.

Stacey Dash is also another one of the chumps that Nancy French writes a blog for. Not surprising it too sounds like Nancy French pretending to be Bristol and fooling no one. Which is why "Bristol" wrote in get blog about Stacey's suspension and encouraged people to buy the book Nancy French has just written about Stacey.

  6. Can anyone imagine someone calling Bush/Cheney a "pussy" on national TeeVee and living to tell the tale? The right has gone too far. We have lost any civility on the PUBLIC airwaves. Yes, I know Fox News is a cable channel. Right wing radio is not. It's even worse there.

    1. The right has been nothing but insulting and disrespectful to this president.

      Remember "You lie"?

      Remember Scalia's eye rolling?

And these same blowhards went ballistic if the left said anything mildly derogatory about Bush always citing respect to the office. But now that the shoe's on the other foot? Nothing but vile attacks and thinly disguised racist remarks.

It really make one wonder if Dash likes Peters as much as Bristol and Sarah like Peters ? I'm sure that when nobody at Fox was looking they took turns kissing Peters. Yes sir those ladyies like them some Peters.

They deserve to be fired, after all, they allowed Sarah to spew and rail against the POTUS for years, and they finally fired her. But Fox is the sphincter of all "news" to begin with.

Bristol likes Peters? I think you mean Nancy French, writing as Bristol, likes Peters.... And Dash. Funny thing, Nancy French writes about this as Bristol but not as Dash. On Dash's blog Nancy is silent about the swearing and suspension. My guess is that Dash has to be careful. She's too old for another Playboy gig and her acting career is long over. She needs the Fox gig.

Could someone please spare me having to go to Bristol's blog to see what she said (French)?

How could Bristol support Dash using non-Christian language on TV? Or did she use the tried-and-true Freedom of Speech clause?

Here's a guy who was in the Army for 22 years but never saw combat, was never even close. Comes out of the army as a light colonel, which is middle of the pack -- mediocre, you might say. In my mind he's nothing but a chickenhawk (and a failed Ross Perot lookalike).

  13. Wasn't Fox News leading the pack in deriding "political correctness" and backing Ben Carson's attitude about PC?

What could be more PC than suspending a couple of guest contributors who use obscene language?

  14. I'm surprised they were even suspended.

After all, they were talking about Obama. I thought it was always open season on Obama and that anything went. Even the N word.

This is known as the "Gingrich Rule".
One goes over-the-top and gets a short suspension, which amounts to a slap on the wrist, then returns a short time later and continues to be just as big an asshole as they ever were.
