Woman uses meth and then rides a motorized cart through Wal-Mart eating chicken and drinking wine. Do I even have to tell you it happened in Florida?

Courtesy of WFLA:

A woman ate sushi, cinnamon rolls and the majority of a rotisserie chicken, drinking wine while driving a motorized shopping cart at a Walmart, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. She was arrested for shoplifting and other charges.

It happened at the Lecanto Walmart Tuesday. Citrus deputies responded after the store loss prevention employee contacted them about an alleged shoplifter he had in custody. The employee told deputies that he had noticed the woman acting suspiciously driving the motorized shopping card.

He could see a half-empty bottle of wine in her cart. He also said he watched her grab a box of sushi from the shelf, eat a piece and put the box back. She did the same with cinnamon rolls and mini muffins. He saw her eat the majority of a rotisserie chicken while on the shopping floor.

Overall the woman, aged 20, manged to consume $32.36 worth of food and wine.

Now see THIS is why I stopped shopping at Wal-Mart.

At first I was not sure it was Florida. After all nobody even got shot.

    I live in Florida.

We get so many stories like this I actually had to laugh at this one and post on FB that it was now on my bucket list to ride through Walmart on a motorized cart eating chicken and drinking wine, LOL.

Gotta laugh or cry...not sure which!

I think crying is the correct option. It is a sad commentary on how our society is devolving.

IF you have ever known anyone that has gotten involved with meth, you know how horrible it is. I will never understand how anyone could ingest the stuff knowing what it is made from or after seeing the corrosive effect on a human system.

I have a niece who is/was a meth addict. She's getting out of prison this week after spending the last 18 months behind bars. She has a baby she's never mothered. Time will tell if she's cleaned up her act. Terrible drug

Then you have never been desperate, RJ. Unloved, ugly, stupid, abused, hungry, in deep poverty and despair. All of those cam make the temporary high of meth or heroin a welcome repiste, even with the horrid effects. The other alternative is a bullet in the mouth, a noose, or a jump (Florida, nothing high enough for that last.) But most people aren't desperate or brave enough for that, still holding out a bit of hope.

Dear 7:24, You don't know shit about my life history. I have been all of your above except I didn't get high but I've been down, down low but not dead yet.

I just wish that my friend that lost her life to meth and her daughter that messed up her life lost her child because of her involvement with a guy that cooked and sold the stuff. Arson, stabbings, gunfire from the cops. I wish they had just grown pot. I would hope no one would ever be desperate enough to use that vile chemical brew.

And, all the while we are laughing about the gal scootering around WallyMart living the high life at the deli buffet.

    1. I love Walmart... it's a great American success story!

Success? If you gauge success on how poorly their workers are paid, and how the rest of us have to be responsible for them, then yes, they are wildly successful.

      Walton Family worth $150 Billion.

Pays their workforce around minimum wage, which means the workers cannot survive on this low pay.

A typical Wal Mart store costs taxpayers $900 thousand to $1.7 million per year in State and Federal aid to employees. This is corporate welfare.

It doesn't say whether or not she had left the store without paying. I believe that she has the right to consume, as long as she intends to pay for the items. The proof is at checkout.

How many people do you know that dine off the shelf at Wal-Mart, even with the alleged intention of paying before they leave?

Not any, I would hope. No one has the "right" to consume anything off the shelf while in a grocery store. That kind of thinking is just crazy.

You must not spend much time in WalMart. :-)

6:49, if what the Wal-Mart agent stipulated is correct, it is quite obvious there was no intent to purchase. Besides being out and out gross, it is rather hard to pay for a box of sushi if after eating ONE piece she placed the box bacon the shelf!

This just isn't my day. That should read "back on the shelf", not "bacon the shelf!"

I am a Walmart shopper, my purse looks Walmart, and will not stop because of something like this. This could have happened at any store.
Will you stop going to the mall or other stores because of crazy BS that some other shopper does?

I have heard of some strange things happening at many stores.

  12. How is this Walmart's fault?

And here I figured you were gonna tell us it happened at the Wasilla Walmart. Would not have surprised me a bit.

However, the hard drug of choice in the meth capitol of AK has become H. It's cheaper.

  14. Well, she was hungry. The only punishment she should get "cart eating"--- from a company that oppresses its employees, wipes out small town businesses then raises salaries only to cut their employees hours drastically the next month----is a blood test to make sure the sushi she ate isn't goldfish.

      Oh, Angela, puhlease.

First, I don't care where it was done, it was theft and illegal. Second, goldfish is perfectly healthy as a fish if raised with decent food. If left to the natural diet - bottom-feeding since the goldfish is a carp - then they are just like flounder caught in mud flats, or catfish caught wild.

You may not like the company and that is your right. But all those things you stated does NOT alter the fact what she did is illegal, as I said.

Oh. And a blood test cannot determine what the fish was1

"Cart eating" and specifically "grape testing" seem to happen in front of me all the time and I hate it. Personally I won't shuck corn or even pull a leaf back to check for quality, I just take the good with the bad and do just fine.

As for Wallmart, the one in my town treats their employees poorly and in turn they have a hell of a time getting good workers.

I'm proud to say I only shopped Walmart twice, and will never set foot in one again EVER. They came into town, took away the foot traffic at our local businesses, sold cheap shit that falls apart in the washer, pays their employees poorly... I could go on and on, but their divide and conquer, a big blue box store every mile or so has ruined it for small, family owned stores.
I'd rather pay MORE up front for quality because quality lasts, and if you choose correctly, it can be tailored.
