Ted Cruz gets called out for false claims about Obamacare by Fox News.

Courtesy of Mediaite:

Cruz has claimed that Obamacare is a huge job killer, but Wallace brought up how millions of jobs have been created in the past few years and millions now have health insurance. Cruz responded by calling the media fact checkers “not fair and impartial.”

Wallace said there’s no question millions of people now have jobs and health insurance. Cruz said, “Yes, there is question.” He argued that growth has been very small all of Obama’s years in office.

As they kept going back and forth, a testy Cruz said, “Chris, don’t interrupt me.” Wallace stepped in and called him out for “changing the subject.”

I swear Cruz must have taken lying classes from Sarah Palin. He does it so naturally.

However just because Cruz is a clown does not mean we can ignore him.

In fact Cruz represents one of the MOST dangerous member of the GOP goon squad this election cycle.

For example here is how Cruz responded to a question about his plans for the Supreme Court:

“I have spent my entire adult life fighting judicial activism, fighting to defend the Constitution, fighting to defend the Bill of Rights,” Cruz said. “Unlike the very fine individuals on that debate stage, I will be willing to spend whatever political capital is necessary, and sir I give you my word, every justice I put on that court will be a principled constitutionalist jurist with a proven record who will be faithful to the law and will not legislate from the bench.”

The concept of creating a more conservative Supreme Court is not new for Cruz. He regularly devotes part of his campaign speeches to the idea, repeating the same point: Republicans of the past have been too scared of political fights to appoint very right-wing justices. If he’s elected, he says, that will change.

“Many of the most liberal justices in this country — Earl Warren, Bill Brennan, John Paul Stevens, David Souter, Harry Blackman, the author of Roe v. Wade — all of those were Republican appointees,” Cruz said. “And the reason is simple. Over and over again we keep electing Republican presidents for whom the court is not a priority. And when it comes to a nomination, they take the easy road out.”

Yeah if that did not send a cold chill up your back then you might want to check your pulse to be sure your still among the living.

I have to say that as much as I despise many of the candidates on the Republican side, virtually ALL of them would be preferable to having Ted Cruz win the nomination.

It's really not because I have no confidence that Hillary can kick his ass, she can without even mussing her hair, it's just that I don't want that sleazy mound of pond scum to even get that close to the White House.

Hillary will make mincemeat out of Rafael with one arm tied behind her back as well as 98/100ths of her brain. After that sweet defeat it will then be paramount for my fellow Texans to make sure Rafael loses his Senate seat in two years.

The point is voters in both parties think Obama care Needs to go. It's awful and unaffordable. My household income is 100k so I don't even know how someone who makes 60k feels.

I made 10k last year. That is tips included. And I worked enough hours that my employer was required to give me health insurance under Obamacare.

Before Obama care I would have not had health insurance. I still haven't been able to get to the doctor, but at least if something happens or I am injured, I won't lose everything that I have accumulated or own over the last decade.

I am the most "lefty" person I know, I live in a lefty state (NY) I voted for Obama twice, and have Obabma-care. Sorry it sucks. Like anon 4:40 said, Its completely unaffordable and unsustainable. My deduction alone doubled this year! We no longer have health insurance we have accident and hospitalization insurance. That's not the same thing.

Obama care did nothing for preventable diseases or early diagnosis like was told to us over and over again. It was a very lucrative deal for the insurance companies though.

Now to give credit where credit is due, the pre-existing condition BS that insurance co. used to deny everyone everything had to go. So well done Obama!

Preventive care is covered under an ACA healthcare policy. Such things as annual gyno exam/PAP test, mammogram, prostate screening and colonoscopy. I'd say that goes a long way to early diagnoses of treatable diseases.

      Anon 6:11p,
If you only made 10k, then you qualify for Medicare. The exchange site automatically refers low income families to Medicare for coverage.

Do better research for your family or talk with your HR person about that alternative -- especially if they are deducting payments from your salary.

You know what I have to say, if anyone cares is that his daughter is a preteen or so, and has been thrust into the limelight. As much as I dislike the Cruz, who if you ask me is not an AMERICAN CITIZEN, it looks like he got caught up in a little bit of family angst. And so my wonderful IM friends, as much as we want to vilify creepy Teddy, he is earning his chops in fatherhood sadly right in front of a camera, with his sensitive teenage daugher.

      Delete
    12. Anonymous9:17 PM

      Cruz's daughters are 5 and 7, so not pre-teens.

I also think you are being generous to him. He's such an asshole to everyone, chances are he's kind of an asshole at home, too.

      Delete
    13. Anonymous4:00 AM

Those "little bitch daughters" are 5 and 7, you sick fuck, and they're modeling the bad behavior they see in their parents.

No doubt they're also frustrated at only getting affection from their father when the cameras are rolling. They see him so rarely that they refer to him as a "guest in the house." I also note that, like Palin's kids who missed school the entire fall of 2008, the Cruz kids are dragged around the campaign trail rather than being in school with a heathy daily routine.

I have noticed that the people who say "I was spanked/hit and I turned out fine"...didn't.

When repuglicans discuss small business, health care or whatever the lie of the day happens to be, I can't help but wonder how much better it would be without the burden of an extra $14,400 a year in health care coverage and that's through his employment.

Trump just said today he would appoint judges who would overturn same-sex marriage.

IMO, the most significant powers any President has are: 1) Commander in Chief; and 2) nominating members of the Supreme Court.

If Trump, Cruz, or any Republican gets in, he will have the opportunity to appoint two, three, or more justices. And, most likely, younger ones who could live for decades. A radical right-wing SCOTUS--can you imagine six Scalias?--would destroy this country. That's what terrifies me, even more than going to war somewhere again.

"Just to drive him a little bit crazy, I took to referring to him as a “short-fingered vulgarian” in the pages of Spy magazine. That was more than a quarter of a century ago. Ted Cruz is a radical, militant Christian Dominionist above all else.

I dont' think I've seen anyone more rigidly fanatical, hateful, and despicable as Cruz in the last 30 years.

His ultimate agenda is to try and fulfill prophecy about his "anointed" status as a "King", and to force evangelical Christian doctrine on every US Citizen by law, if at all possible.

In Ted Cruz's world, his faith and belief in the supremacy of his god is paramount, and anyone else's viewpoints are mere obstacles to overcome.

He does not, and cannot believe or support the US Constitution based on the 1st amendment, and Article 6, paragraph 3.

There is no quarter given by the Dominionists in their attempt to dominate the USA in what they call the "Seven Mountains", being government, church, education, family, media, arts, and business.

These folks feel called by their God to dominate, every single aspect of society, and force a virtual theocracy on the USA, in clear contradiction to the 1st amendment, and Jefferson's clear statement about
"separation of church and state", in his letter to the Danbury Baptists.

Ted Cruz doesn't want the general public to know anything about his hidden agenda, but it's crystal clear that he is not about being a US Senator, and fulfiling his obligation to Texas citizens.

He is 100% for Christian domination of government in exactly the same way that Sharia law functions in Islamic countries.

Cruz would to FAR MORE DAMAGE THAN W BUSH as President, because he would use religion as the ultimate litmus test for every single appointment he would make.

His Cabinet meetings would be more like a bible study, and the USA would suffer untold damage.

I despise Trump, but I'd take him as President 1000 times over rather than let Cruz the Christian Hitler into the Oval office.
