Extra bonus points if you can guess in which state this woman is running for a seat on the Board of Education.

Answer beneath the fold.

Did you guess Texas?

Good for you.

I think that a lot of us have state and local politicians that embarrass the hell out of us, but Texas seems to have made the creation of these lunatics a kind of cottage industry.

After all where else could you possibly hope to find the likes of Greg Abbott, Ted Cruz, and Louie Gohmert?

Don't forget Ohio, Oklahoma, and Kansas! They're doing their very best to out-Florida Florida.

    Dear Mr Gryphen:
For just a few monuments, I suggest you ponder the actions of the following people - Ted Stevens (Your Alaskan of the Century), Frank Murkowski, Lisa Murkowski, Joe Miller (YIKES!!) and Sarah Palin.

I certainly hope you've fortified your glass house since you are so fond of throwing stones.

    Have a nice day.

Yet Billy Bob Jethro Bubba Wayne Clampett, Gryphen acts to expose the idiocy/hypocrisy/corruption/obnoxiousness of the people you listed, while YOU simply DEFEND those of your own. What exactly does that say about YOU? Think about it.

10:09 As an Alaskan also, too, I voted for Alaska as the crazy woman's home.

But we all know she is correct. If it is on the internet it must be true and even MORE true if it's posted on Facebook.

And even more, MORE true if it's posted on Bristol's Instagram page! or Sarah's own FB page!

What's up with the Iron Dog website?

There's supposed to be a page on the site that tracks teams.

Okay, 4:54, let's walk this back (slowly, for your benefit). Because Texas has such a large population, the Texas School Board is a major player in which textbooks are used throughout the entire country. They choose, publishers and school districts across the country are forced to comply. Now think about the connection between education (or lack thereof) and violent mental illness.....If you were educated in a public school or home-schooled with information provided by this kind of official, wouldn't you be susceptible to frustrated outbursts?
Texas School Board textbook choices have some potential to provide what would be essentially public madrassas in the United States.

Hey 4:54, speaking of education,I hope you get one.

4:54 in Alaska is awfully early in the morning for Gryphen to be monitoring his website or the news.

I believe you failed in the time zone conversion section of your math class.

Gryph and the rest of us Alaskans were sleeping soundly while those poor folks in Michigan were going through hell.

Are you going to blame him for sleeping through it as well???? How inconsiderate of him.

    4. Anonymous12:30 AM

The shooting began at 6pm Michigan time & suspect was taken into custody about 12:30am MI time. AK is 3 hrs behind so Gryphen could've easily heard about it in the mid to late afternoon. So don't try the sleeping soundly bs. And you 6:05 should be ashamed of comparing a mass shooting to the crazed ravings of some political wannabe retired teacher.

  10. I always fall back on Texas, although Florida, Alabama or Oklahoma always seem to teeter in second place. Of course, I live in Ohio and I've noticed the last few years it has begun to be a bit Texasish around here.

So does this woman support Cruz, whose parents both had affairs and were )maybe) divorced before little Anointed One slid out into the world? Or maybe Trump, that good Methodist whose church has;t seen him in years, and who is on wife number three, after cheating on the first two. Or maybe she likes Pretty Boy Marco, who lies without compunction about any and everything. "This Shalt Not Judge," said her Lord. Hope she's too nuts for even Texas.

  12. Texas used to be a bit more reasonable and it also produced the likes of Ann Richards (Gov), Lloyd Bentsen (Sen), and Lyndon Johnson (Pres) who was a civil rights leader but also a racist. Complicated, people from a VERY complicated state. I still don't want any more "leaders" from TX until they get themselves SANE again...which means, probably never.

Well said, Dave. I tend to think that Gryphen preaches to the choir a lot here and also takes cheap shots at other states when AK gave us a crazed woman who easily could be less than 10 months from moving into the White House had our country not been lucky enough to have the Kenyan Muslim dictator come along & lead our nation the way a rill President should. But that's just me.

I always get a chuckle out of Gryphen "the pot" (Alaska) calling other states (the kettles) black. The native people aside, who was one of the groups that originally populated Alaska? The "dead-enders" that didn't/couldn't fit into normal society. How many ex-Texas assholes (isn't that ironic) have moved to Alaska over the last 40 years for the gas and oil industry? Too many to count. Even today, where do dead-enders from the lower 48 move to when there's no place left to go? Alaska. I would be willing to wager that Alaska has more assholes per capita than any other state in the county.

My first thought was that it was Sylvia Allen(R)-from Snowflake, Arizona. She was appointed chairwoman of the Arizona Senate Education Committee by Senate President Andy Biggs. She is a Creationist who believes the Earth is only 6,000 years old, is for mandatory Church attendance and believes that the contrails left behind by jet engines are drugs being sprayed by the government to keep the population docile. Wingnutty? You bet, also, too!

What a load of BS from that woman. These people are going to get exactly what they ask for. If Trump is their candidate that wins the presidency, they can kiss their freedoms goodbye. He'll turn on them so fast, he'll have the 'police state' they fear so badly running them to Mexico.

I thought it was Floridastan or Georgiastan, but not surprised one bit it's Texastan. The only smart one I recall from Texas was Ann Richards. What sickens me it the ties with textbook publishers, textbooks that get sent out to all states that twist history and science, among other things.
