Ted Cruz fires spokesman for distributing video that falsely depicted Marco Rubio criticizing the Bible. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Courtesy of CNN:

Ted Cruz asked his national spokesman Rick Tyler to resign Monday, after he distributed a video that falsely depicted Marco Rubio dismissing the Bible.

Cruz says he spent the morning investigating what happened before making his decision.

"I have made clear in this campaign we will conduct this campaign with the very highest standards and integrity," Cruz said, adding that Tyler is a "good man."

"The highest standards and integrity?"

The Ted Cruz campaign?

I'm sorry but I thought having no moral rudder was a prerequisite for working with Ted Cruz.

The story mentioned by Tyler was about a video that shows Rubio walking into a hotel lobby past Cruz's father Rafael and a staffer reading the Bible, and subtitles in the video misquote Rubio as saying, "Got a good book there, not many answers in it."

I think the ONLY reason that Cruz fired this guy, is because they were caught red handed falsifying the transcript, and he had to make a show of firing SOMEBODY to cover their tracks.
I have every confidence in the world that once this blows over Cruz will go right back to his same dirty tricks

Ted Cruz has no moral compass. He fired his spokesman because when push comes to shove, Ted is willing to throw ANYONE under the bus.

Ted Cruz, in a surprising move, changes his slogan from "Trusted" to "Busted". For a magazine to have an ongoing list of tricks and lies on this guy, he HAD to let one head roll, call him a good man, and call for a cleanup in aisle five.
So much for turning the other cheek and forgiveness, this one was too blatant to ignore.

Interesting -- he didn't' fire the guy, he "asked him to resign." What game is he playing?

I was mocking this Tyler guy this morning as he skated around and behind and through a question posed to him by Tamryn (?) Hall on MSNBC. Before his "resignation", I suppose. I never did like him, but then I don't like any of 'em. None of 'em. Also too.

  7. His “Christian” father certainly heard what was said and must have not said anything. How must trust can you have in Cruz in not doing something like this again in light of his past record. If they were not caught you know they would have not said or have done anything about it. Cruz is nothing but a narcissist, just like Trump and maybe Rubio. In all of my 66 years I have never seen a bigger bunch of losers running for the Republican Presidential nomination. This most almost assuredly will to be the end of the Republican party whether one is elected for President or not.

I do believe all IMer's have Cruz number.
He will do anything for him to look good.
He is very calculating in most all he does. I would not put it past him to have staged or orchestrated this fiasco. "Asked him to resign"
My ass. Cruz (ratface)is one nasty scum bucket!

I'm so glad you've got a new post up. It's almost unbearable to see the Cruz photo you selected whenever I refresh the page.

I was happy to learn that a close relative, who proudly claimed to be a tea partier, is disgusted by Cruz and by Trump. Sadly, though, she says she still won't vote for the Dem candidate if either of these two are the GOP nominee. I hold out hope this could change.

This Cruz guy is a living definition of 'demagogue.' His association with the New Apostolic Reformation gang should frighten all of us.

Good god. I do not like Rubio at all and I don't have any respect for him. But DAMN Ted Cruz is the slimiest, disgusting cheater I've seen in politics since Richard Nixon

He can't possibly be blissfully ignorant of all these dirty tricks. To anybody who believes Cruz is completely innocent, ask yourselves this: what kind of leadership skills does Cruz have if he can't even stop his own paid campaign employees from pulling shit like this over and over again

Rachel Maddow had a nice segment on this last night. Apparently, he was literally sitting with MSNBC's Kate Snow, waiting for a live interview to take place. Suddenly got up & left with no explanation.

Segment also included some former Cruz supporters who are now caucusing for Rubio. One woman said she'd heard about his dirty tricks, but didn't believe it until this one.

Cruz has a big problem with perception right now, & firing this guy is not going to make it go away. Rubio was quoted as saying Ben Carson is the nicest guy in the world; how awful must you be to make Ben Carson mad? Trump isn't going to be shy about making hay over this one.

I wonder if maybe they didn't cook the whole thing up beforehand. Including the firing.
That may be cynical, but I wouldn't put it past Ted Cruz.

Trump and the media are now taking Cruz down - he's a liar, he's a liar! This Republican scenario is just amazing and unbelievable to watch!

The media is promoting 'the kid' who appears to me to be naïve and not prepared at all to be POTUS.

Trump is spreading hate, fear, anger, is a racist and I have a difficult time believing he practices the religion he was raised in. He's nothing more than a rich, spoiled, obese, unattractive man in thought, word and deed!

Remember! He is currently only carrying 35% favorability from the Republican party. That is not enough to win an election. This is going to be so interesting in seeing if he is actually picked as the nominee by the Republican party! No one seems to be able to take him down (or off the constant coverage via the media!).

Not giving him the nomination gets rid of him. Simple as that!!!

Why are the tea party voters not supporting "Ted"? This guy has obstructed progress for years. His motives have been questioned by many. Something creepy about the agenda, something insensitive and devil like in the personality. Something odd and un-American surrounding those that cheer for this person. Listen and pay attention. Vote for the future of America.

It has been said that ted cruz is totally controlled by his father. His campaigns for senator and now president of the usa was crafted by daddy from cuba. Instead of ANALizing teddy, maybe the place to probe should be daddy. Why does he want power, control and a bed in the white house? Cuba is front and center today. Concerned? We should be.

He was the tea party darling. He is the dark fringe in America. He said he was going to give Nevada back their toxic area 51 lands to graze their cattle. LOL ....all the bundies in undies love that!!!

Boy that axiom group has failed to deliver the insanity. Although the rump probe effect has taken the lead. A deep deep analyzed agenda to screw America no matter what, seems to be the populist and the successful and beautiful people election party theme today. An in your face approach to voting in America by zit united. Nasty stinky and out of touch with humans is so boring.

It was the student journalists at the Daily Pennsylvanian, the newspaper for the University of Pennsylvania, that added the subtitles. Here's the story:

    http://www.thedp.com/article/2016/02/daily-pennsylvanian-video-sparks-rubio-cruz

"In the video, the DP staff members perceived Rubio saying: “Good book you got there. Not many answers in it. Especially in that one.” The editors subtitled the video and posted it along with an entry on the “DPolitics Blog,” a separate website for the newspaper’s coverage of the 2016 election with the headline, “Marco Rubio has awkward confrontation with Rafael Cruz, Cruz staffer in hotel lobby.”

I think that a presidential candidate who thinks "all the answers" are in the Bible is pretty stupid and should be disqualified. And if he doesn't keep kosher, he's a hypocrite.

  23. Why didn't Marco Rubio fire the guy that produced his "Make America Great Again" video using CANADIAN stock footage. The tug boat was even flying a Canadian flag.

If it was an intentional dig at Ted Cruz then it was too subtle for anyone to get and just made Rubio look like an idiot.
