Fox News is not usually the destination of choice for Democratic candidates seeking to spread their message, but Bernie Sanders has agreed to participate in an hour-long town hall hosted by the network here on Monday.
Anchor Bret Baier announced Thursday that the presidential hopeful would appear with him and said that Hillary Clinton had also been invited but declined because of “a scheduling conflict.”
I have to say that I can understand why Bernie sees this as a good opportunity.
I do.
After all he gets an audience all to himself, that would very likely NEVER listen to anything positive that he had to say.
But I still feel that it's wrong.
First off the chances of even a handful of Fox News viewers casting their vote for a Democratic socialist in the general election is negligible.
But secondly, and more importantly, this is a cable news outlet who has been attacking the liberals, the Democrats, and especially the Clintons since the minute they came on the air.
They made their bones reporting on the Monica Lewinsky scandal, helped to steal the 2000 election away from Al Gore, and have attacked President Obama non-stop since even before his inauguration.
Fox News is not inviting Bernie Sanders on because they are "fair and balanced," and want to host candidates from both sides of the aisle, they are inviting him on because he is a threat to Hillary Clinton and that makes him their ally.
And any ally of Fox News.......
Update: Courtesy of Mediaite:
And now tonight, Fox News has confirmed that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be joining her Democratic rival in the Detroit event, just one night after the two square off in a CNN debate from Flint, Michigan.
Oh.
Never mind.
(Still think it's a bad idea for her to give Fox News any credibility though.)
He is an joker to the socialist max in going on FOX news. Not a good idea at all and I think it detrimental to his campaign!
ReplyDeleteAnd any ally of Fox News.......
Delete***
and THAT! They will prob try to goad him into attacking Hillary, I hope he doesn't fall for it...
It is a mistake for Democrats to go on Fox. Fox so-called news is evil, racist, they lie, and have lied on and slandered President Obama since he's been in office.
DeleteI wish Sanders had not agreed to that. It is a grave mistake on this part.
Well, millions of liberals tuned into Fox News last night to watch the latest Republican debate, so why not tune in to watch one of your own on Fox News, hmmm?
ReplyDeleteFace it, except for that last stubborn and staunch liberal hold out, Rachel Maddow, ALL of the cable news channels are Fox News now.
Wouldn't it be awesome if it got higher ratings than any of the GOP debates? Ailes wouldn't know whether to crap himself or jump out the nearest window...
DeleteI think most liberals who are matched the "debate" (and I use the term loosely), watched it for pure comic entertainment. And, we were not disappointed.
DeleteThat's right..... Hillary very afraid to be called out on her lies and criminal activity
ReplyDeleteFind a verb, would ya?
DeleteHillary Clinton Will Appear on Monday’s Fox News Democratic Town Hall
Deletehttp://www.mediaite.com/tv/hillary-clinton-will-appear-on-mondays-fox-news-democratic-town-hall-after-all/
Yes, she's so very afraid that she's coming onto the HateNews network. Trump is afraid of CPAC. Hm--tell me, who has more courage?
DeleteI am so sick and tired of these hit and run comments made here and on television that Hillary is a criminal and will be indicted, but too chicken to say indicted for what.
DeleteMost likely because they have yet to find anything and will continue to dig for the next 8 years looking for something.
Indicted for what???? Spending tax payers money for another Benghazi hearing, how about more tax money spent for reading her emails.
The republicans are the ones going to be indicted-Christie for starters.
5:25 I'm with you. Provide documentation, or shut up.
DeleteSniper fire in Bosnia lol
ReplyDeleteSierra Blanca. LOL
DeleteThird world hell holes, who cares.
Delete4:48 = GOP
DeleteRachel Maddow bought and paid for shill for hillary
ReplyDeleteShe's for Bernie, you idiot!
DeleteThat's why her show is void of any Bernie rallies or have him on
Delete3:36 - he's been on her show FOR YEARS! You must be a Republican.
DeleteHer heart's on her sleeve for Bernie.
DeleteShe recently complained that she never felt that President Bill Clinton had her back as a gay woman (therefore she felt negatively about him). I guess that might have some impact on how she feels about Hillary Clinton) but I couldn't help thinking back to when I was young and our presidents were sending our young men to fight and die. Have your back much?
I stopped watching Rachel because she wasted so much of my time talking about Donald Trump, like all the others. They obviously have their orders.
DeleteOh shut up. Let the man share his message to as many ears as possible. I have friends who are as republican as it gets who are disgusted with the GOP candidates. You know who they're open to talking about with me? Bernie.
ReplyDelete++++++
DeleteBernie is squirmy.
DeleteI'm glad Bernie is doing the town hall and I think Hillary should join him. By not doing so, she appears as cowardly as the Republicans who ignore Rachel Maddow's invitation to appear on her show. Yes, we all know what Fox "News" is -- unlike Rachel Maddow, it is not interested in the truth, it is a totally biased, right-wing pantering, full of shit outfit.
ReplyDeleteBut Bernie is brave and determined enough to take his message there anyway. He is not going to miss any chance to get it out there. Period.
Hillary isn't.
What does that say about her commitment to message?
I have to imagine that you are troll since anybody with half a brain would realize that this is a set up.
DeleteThere is no down side for Bernie, they are going to treat him with kid gloves because HE is who they are hoping to help beat Hillary.
Hillary is the one that terrifies the conservatives, and Fox News.
Not Bernie Sanders.
Bernie beats Rubio, according to polls. Hillary doesn't.
DeleteMan for a political junkie you sure don't know shit or you got a little pac money, hey almost everyone else has
DeleteYou keep believing that Gryphen
DeleteThe joke's on you, Gryphen.
DeleteHillary is speaking at the town hall.
Signed,
The "Troll" who despises Hillary Clinton as a total DINO
I agree with you, Gryphen. Oh, and hey, it looks like HRC and BS got the same amount of delegates in Colorado after all.

*********************************
BS Hillary absolutely beats Robot Rubio. According to the polls, she beats them ALL.
Anonymous 3:31 a.m., check CNN poll from four days ago. Only Sanders beats all the Republicans. Sheesh.
DeleteRemember, Hillary CHOOSE to decline this invitation.
ReplyDeletePlease don't hold it against him if our future President wants to reach out to ALL Americans!
Bernie 2016 all the way
Exactly. After all, he will become president of ALL Americans if he is elected. There should be absolutely no bashing of a man who tries to speak out to everyone and not just those he knows will agree with him.
DeleteHillary Clinton Will Appear on Monday’s Fox News Democratic Town Hall
DeleteShe CHOSE (not CHOOSE) to do so.
DeleteFuck you 2:44
ReplyDeleteHaha. Intelligent productive response, did I hurt your feelings? Bloggers along with commenters who piss on Bernie are as bad as the tea baggers. Stop trying to divide the Democratic Party, assholes!
DeleteDivide the party? I love Bernie I'm voting for Bernie... so piss off
DeleteThen why the fuck you...? Bipolar a little?
DeleteThat wasn't me
DeleteThat was me, the real anonymous.
DeleteHahahahaha. The "real anonymous" that was a good one. Why are we all fighting with each other? Can't we just all get along? We are all working for the same goal for crying out loud!
DeleteGuess the breaking news that Hillary will indeed show up to the FOX Townhall leaves some of us with egg on our faces.
No, Gryphen, he's going on because he knows he can hold his own. They hate him as much as they hate Hillary. (You really don't like Bernie, do you? Lots of weird comments on this site.)
ReplyDeleteThe problem seems to be that some see this election as some kind of sporting event. Us vs. them. Win or lose. Take no prisoners. Rah rah rah USA!
DeleteCan't we act like adults?
It's funny anyone who speaks out against Hillary is automatically labeled a troll... it's the pac money
ReplyDeleteSeriously is there PAC money available?
DeleteI recently spent many thousands of dollars to help a friend and I could really use the cash.
Don't front gryphen
DeleteMan all the Hillary supporters on this blog must all be mensa members they all complain about bad grammar but no answer with substance in supporting Hillary
ReplyDeleteI am a MENSA member! Thanks for noticing! http://www.denverpost.com/election/ci_29587219/bernie-sanders-may-not-have-won-colorado-after
DeleteI support Hillary Clinton because she is the most intelligent, most experienced, and most capable person running for President. She has dealt with and beaten, the insane RW her entire career. She knows the world leaders, who respect her, unlike the creepy GOP, who write traitorous letters to foreign leaders vowing to undo any agreement they reach with this administration. Lord, anyone who supports the GOP is just as bad as they are.
DeleteI will vote for either Bernie or Hillary, as the GOP is evil.
3:57 I'm with you. I support Hillary for her experience in foreign affairs. I like what Bernie says and I'd love to see his economic ideas in place, but I think she has the edge in experience.
DeleteEither is so far above any of the Republicans they need to be plotted on a logarithmic scale to be on the same graph.
3:57
DeleteI am not seeing how HRC is the more experienced, unless my my math is wrong here.
This is what I found with my own research---
1981 Mayor (re-elected 3 times)
1991 Representative, served 16 years as congressman
2006 Senate for two terms
Bernie has held public office since 1981, starting as Mayor where he was re-elected 3 times. He then was elected as a Representative, and served as 16 years as congressman. In 2006 he started in the Senate, where he is currently in his second term.
Hmm.. So are you going to be fair and call her an ally of Fox News too now? Or are you as equally "fair and balanced" as Fox now.
ReplyDeleteO/T -- back to the last post.
ReplyDeleteKoch Industries is headquartered in Wichita, Kansas.
If, for no other reason, it would behoove Trump to learn how to spell this Mecca of the Right.
Did he diss CPAC to have a private meeting with the Brothers?
So now it will be all Benghazi and all emails. What a crapfest it will be.
ReplyDeleteHillary's not afraid of FOX News or anybody else but I bet she had something much more worthwhile planned for that night.

ReplyDeletenight radio show called COAST. 10:00pm
to 2:00am. On some stations until 4:00am.
World wide. Last night the guest called her a liar. Also said there was something wrong with her mentally. Said she craves attention, is narcissistic and will always be connected to Wall Street . I was shocked
at George N. His show is normally awesome!
People who cannot sleep, have the night shift, truckers and new parents staying
up all night with their fussy new born.
People call in and tell George N. that his show got them through the worst time or times in their lives. He never indorses
anyone anywhere . I was so disappointed
that George N. allow these male guests
to keep grinding and grinding on her mental status. Check it out folks.
Look up Coast , George Norrey or Norey .
you can bring up past shows. It is normally an awesome late night radio show,
and not political.
Yeah, no thanks.
DeleteI just sent an email about the all night
ReplyDeleteradio show. I wrote Coast. It is Coast to Coast , George Noory.
I'm glad Hillary's showing up. And threads like this one are like flushing a toilet. "Fuck You" has become a comment that stands on it's own, no reason other than someone supports a candidate the other one does. Quite a persuasive argument.
ReplyDeleteLook! Bernie Sanders has long fingers unlike Trump's short ones. lol
ReplyDeleteSorry that I have succumbed to that level of thinking.
Looking at all the comments, here there everywhere. Bimbo skanks around the country have proudly displayed in large obnoxious letters. TRUMP and then put their skank face on it. Oh how funny. Ugly chic, with huge t rump behind them. Does trump make my RUMP look big? Why YES it does and your fingers look stubby. And your face and rump look the same. Stupid extortionist skanks for rump. Ugly extortionist skanks for rump. Flush ..swish....bye bye skanky bug eyes. Dumb bitch should sell real estate in bum fuck Egypt instead of being a rump extortionist in usa.
ReplyDeleteThe primary in Michigan is coming up soon. We've voted by absentee ballot. Yesterday afternoon Bernie Sanders came to town. We did not attend but we did go to a local brewery where delicious salads and pizzas are also featured for dinner because we were on our way to a performance at Interlochen Arts Academy.
ReplyDeleteLong introduction but it's all to say that, while Bernie did not get our votes, we were happy to be surrounded by enthusiastic liberal folk at the brewpub where we had our supper. I've always loved going to political events and it's rare for anyone in national politics to venture this far away from metropolitan areas (northwest corner of Michigan's lower peninsula with a population of about 16,000). There is something very American and exciting about seeing one's candidate in person. I understand Donald Trump is visiting Cadillac (another small town in norther lower Michigan). I'm glad we'll be nowhere near for, perhaps, years.
Beaglemom
Update. Trump's visit to Cadillac MI was also yesterday. He had large crowds. It is important to realize that northern Michigan, which includes mostly very poor people always votes Republican. i remember driving through small villages in the region where there were no signs of active businesses, only run down farms, closed shops, and substandard housing, but they all sported Bush/Cheney signs along with the requisite signs supporting guns and condemning abortion. Ah, the intelligence of the average Republican voter! So Trump got the larger story - more people in attendance - but at least Bernie Sanders made it to the newspaper's front page also and 2000 attended. Sanders garnered quite a crowd for northwest lower Michigan and I'm sure his listeners heard a lot more about policies than about hand size.
DeleteBeaglemom
All fox will do is use out-of-context soundbites thoughtfully provided to them by the candidates to try to harm the Democratic campaign.
ReplyDeleteI just don't think Sanders or Clinton should acknowledge fox at all. They are not a news source, they are the PR branch of the republican party.
