Donald Trump takes another hostage.

Courtesy of NBC News:

Ben Carson, the former pediatric neurosurgeon who dropped out of the Republican presidential race last week, endorsed Donald Trump on Friday, praising his "guts" and "energy."

"There are two different Donald Trumps," Carson said at the billionaire's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. "There's the one you see on the stage and there's the one who is very cerebral, sits there and considers things very carefully. You can have a very good conversation with him. That's the Donald Trump that you're going to start seeing more and more of."

Well if there ARE two Donald Trumps they are both arrogant assholes.

I felt like I was watching one of those videos where the terrorists make their captive denounce America as the "great Satan" before they cut his head off on live TV.

I have no idea how Trump gets these former outspoken critics of his to trade what's left of their dignity for a few minutes on the stage with him, but at this point he seems to have it down to a science.

Getting Sarah Palin's endorsement is not big deal because she is the equivalent of a political two bit streetwalker, So she can be had for...well for two bits.

Chris Christie has campaign debt and legal problems on the horizon so of course he was for sale.

But Ben Carson just left the campaign trail with millions of unused money in his coffers and reputation for integrity. I have no idea what Trump could offer him that convinced him to come aboard the Trump Train to disaster, but he did.

I think if we have learned anything this campaign season it is that virtually none of these GOP candidates have an ounce of integrity.

Not that most of us did not already know that of course.

tRump gets uglier day by day! And what about that white shit around his pig eyes?
Is that supposed to make his eyes "Pop"? ugh!
Palin must be giving him makeup lessons as well as advise.
      FAIL!

He really is hard to stomach. I noticed that his center hair appears to be thinning more. How's he going to wrap his other hair around there when it's needed elsewhere? And I swear his face is looking less orange, like someone told him to stop tanning it as much. I'd think he uses a tanning bed at home, but the rest of his body is so blinding white. Why, if he's using a tanning lotion, does he have that pinky-white skin around his eyes, as if he wears goggles? He really ought to start wearing some mascara or eyeliner too. They could do it subtly and no one would know it was makeup. He has that white skin and invisible lashes and the shape of his eyes is pinched and just so icky. Everything about him is icky.

You would think that someone with his 'billions' would hire a personal stylist and make up artist to even out his skin tone and keep his hair colored consistently. I don't get it.

      Sheesh

Maybe book kiosks on all the properties carrying the Trump label?

Please, please, please tell me that Mental Ben doesn't think he'll be the next US Surgeon General.

The whipped expression on Christie's face in the above photograph is that of a kid who has just been taken to the woodshed.

I have no idea what Drumpf did to him in a smoke-filled back room but you can bet it was so ugly it ripped the spine right out of the man.

Ben Carson is a slime ball, just a more refined and educated version of Christie.

I can't understand why Trump would want the support of those two losers. I thought that he hated losers.

Ben Carson's book didn't sell. He can't operate any more- and nobody would want him to, now that they've seen him in 'action'. And obviously (and unsurprisingly) in the past week the wingnut gravy train didn't make him any offers.

There isn't much else he can do for money before his public profile falls asleep permanently.

Really. I can't believe he was ever up in the polls. I always have to turn to another channel because he is so weird and takes forever to say two words in that sleepy tone and with his eyes closed. I didn't even listen to his full endorsement. One sentence was all I could take.

This is O/T but I just have to mention this. At lunch, I managed to catch a bit of Nancy Reagan's memorial and I caught her daughter, Patti Davis say this: "I walked in on my mother after she had gotten off the phone - she was calling lawmakers to plead for their support of stem cell research - and she was so dejected. She said that she found out that right after she would talk to these different lawmakers, Karl Rove would call the same lawmakers and tell them basically no, don't listen to Nancy Reagan and continue to vote against stem cell research." Now, folks, the best part of Patti Davis' soeech was that she told it right in front of George W. Bush and his wife!!! OMG! The camera immediately panned to Bush and his look was priceless.
Ok, sorry, just had to relate that.

Thanks. I didn't get to watch the service but am sure there will be reairings of it. I want to hear what all Patti and Ron had to say about their mom.

    2. Anonymous2:19 PM

Except Nancy and her dementia ridden husband Ronnie were single handedly responsible for ENDING stem cell research in the USA. It was only when Ronnie needed it that she felt differently.

    3. Anonymous6:41 PM

      @2:19 is absolutely correct!!!

Just think of all the years of research that were lost because of Nancy and Ronnie.

Same for the research for AIDS.

Patti and Ron made it very clear, that Nancy and Ronnie only loved each other, there was no room for the children, however they still loved her and had some good moments.

    4. Patti is a strong, independent woman.

And the Republicans have no hold over her. So she has the freedom to shame them in public and tell it like it is. Good for her. Most appropriate. And best tribute to her mother she could have made.

Looks like a slave auction to me and old Ben Carson is up on the block for the highest bidder.

It's sad that he didn't throw off the GOP chains that bound him and decide to be free.

Instead, he's enslaved himself to to a nominee that thinks he's just a token, and really only good enough to clean his toilets, or stand behind him on stage.

I guess standing behind Trump and looking sad is preferable to having your head mounted on the wall in his trophy room.

Lawrence O'Donnell commented that each time Trump uses his faux White House, he keeps adding flags behind him.

And word on the street is that Carson sold his mailing list for a tidy little sum in exchange for the endorsement. Makes you wonder what Palin got in exchange.

Palin got to stand with Trump in Iowa and convince all of her Tea Party people that Trump is the one; she got to be front and center and that was enough for her.

She only was allowed to speak in Oklahoma to try to defuse the Track beatdown/PTSD thing in case he wanted to use her again, which he doesn't seem eager to do.

He used her to get "her people's" votes, just as he used Christie, and now Carson. None of these people have a chance in hell of being part of the Trump campaign or even a Trump cabinet, he's used them and then tossed the aside.

In most of their cases it has cost them any personal support they used to have from their various supporters.

is that an endorsement or Carson's secret way of telling us that Trump has multiple personality disorder? i'd say it's a strike against him, not something in his favor.

The German Jews never believed Hilter would come for them because they considered themselves Germans first.

By the time they figured it out, it was too late.

IIRC, you can't use campaign cash fro personal expenses. You CAN give it to another candidate, who then gives you a "job" of some sort in his campaign, or pays you speaking fees. It's money laundering, but perfectly legal.

In this age of mostly electronic payment, we need to change the rules to make candidates give back the money if they drop out of the race.
