Rachel Maddow brilliantly explains that the anger and violence at yesterday's Trump rally was purposefully incited by Donald Trump himself.

The rally was NOT shut down due to recommendations by the Chicago police.

It was shut down because Frankenstein was not prepared to face the monster of his own creation.

This morning both Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz were making political points by blaming this on Trump and reminding people that this ONLY happens at Trump rallies.

So the question to ask is "Has Donald Trump FINALLY gone too far? Or will this too have no real impact on his campaign?"

Actually it already is having some impact on his campaign:

Toward the end of Donald Trump’s speech at the Dayton airport a protester attempted to rush the stage and security at the event was quick to act. (Here's video of the incident. Look how frightened Trump is.)

Witnesses told our reporters that the person who tried to rush the stage was a man and that he never was able to make it to the stage.

The man was reportedly placed in plastic-style handcuffs and escorted out of the hangar, witnesses said.

Fortunately the suspect appears to be Caucasian which will give his racist supporters a little less to get worked up about.

Welcome to the 2016 presidential election cycle folks.

Hillary Clinton Charges Trump With ‘Political Arson’

"If you play with matches, you're going to start a fire you can't control. That's not leadership. That's political arson."

...“The ugly, divisive rhetoric we are hearing from Donald Trump and the encouragement of violence and aggression is wrong, and it’s dangerous.”

“If you play with matches, you’re going to start a fire you can’t control. That’s not leadership. That’s political arson. The test of leadership and citizenship is the opposite. If you see bigotry, oppose it. If you see violence, condemn it. And if you see a bully, stand up to him.”

Turmoil is all that Trump has got. It's not like he can talk policy at his rally. A wall that Mexico will pay for is not policy, it's fantasy.

Trump's ego feeds on publicity. The Chicago rally gave him huge news coverage without much expense and personal effort. It's a win for Trump and will undoubtedly be replicated by his campaign again and again.

Trump will make the Cleveland convention area a battle ground to launch his full campaign.

For those of you who don't know Dayton, the airport is out in the hinterlands, not even contiguous with the City of Dayton borders or a corridor. It is essentially the City of Englewood airport. Englewood is 82% white down form a 2000 census of 92%. This is a white flight demographic that fears the city. My guess is he got a lot of white rural and suburban people and very few real Daytonians. among those who even knew his plane did a touch and go - it's the start of March Madness (basketball.) Not seeing a lot of photos - I'm guessing they were embarrassing.

And where he was in Cleveland was the expo center right there at the airport that is surrounded by white suburbs. It's not the whitest part of the area, but of course he avoided having his rally downtown at any of the places where it could have been held. It's interesting that twice today Trump stayed very close to his plane. Sounds like he fears being trapped by a big raucous.

  20. Saw Rachel's show last night. Her content was very good. ChrisMatthews phone call was pathetic.

A long time ago I learned that we are judged by what we say. Doesn't matter who we are talking to or about. The words are our words.

that said, Trump is a being of the mean hateful words that he is spreading. They are a reflection of him. Mean, despicable, and angry. He could never accomplish a small percentage of what he is talking about without destroying legislature, judicial and few other agencies. It will never happen. In the long run all he is thinking about is himself. You get a certain high out " speeching" like he does and he is feeding off that and pushing the anger as far as he can go.

Just heard that there were only about 7000 people in Cleveland where he was, close to the airport. I guess he's afraid to go far from his plane/way of escape. I'm not that religious any more, but it is Easter, I can imagine that Trump's rhetoric is the kind that would push to crucify christ and then wash his hands and blame from it. Let's see what happens come Easter.

Just prior to his receiving the call, he went on and on about the problems, statements and division being created by Trump and once he had him on the phone, he acted exactly the same as the majority of other media interviewers. He never called Trump out or asked him questions concerning things he had just said on his show!

But, I will give him the fact that Trump kept talking on top of him and didn't allow many questions to get through (which is his typical way of being interviewed).

Matthews was receiving some of the same action (from Trump) that he does to the guests on his show. He, too, talks over them and wants them to say things that fall in line with his thinking process.

I kindly suggest it is tme for Matthews to retire. He has aged quickly, agitates easily, has diabetes and at times appears to get so very frustrated.

Trump has purposefully set up (via his hate, racist and dividing speeches) these American objections we are now viewing via the media, news, newspapers and in person. (As is the rest of the world!)

And, I think Trump will be one shocked individual when a secret service agent is shot dead protecting him. All the while knowing the bullet was meant for him!

Americans, of ALL colors, would then gather in mass revolt against Trump throughout our country and I will be one of them!

Trump is one evil individual and I find nothing of truth or substance that warrants his becoming our next POTUS. He is not qualified, does not unite, doesn't appear to be Christian, is a racist and a constant liar!

He is pure EVIL with a soul that will eventually rest in Hell.

If Trump had really wanted to avoid violence and anyone getting hurt, as was his explanation for canceling the Chicago appearance, he would have appeared and called for calm, like any leader would do. His presence would not have been inciteful, but his absence definitely was. By canceling, he instead ramped up the anger and tension. I think he wanted an explosive situation. See what happens when "my people" are deprived of me? All hell will break out if the GOP tries to deny me the nomination at a brokered convention. He is creating an intimidating situation to threaten the GOP insiders that are trying to figure out how to block his nomination.

    1. @1:03 Good analysis. Trumps always has a (not so hidden) agenda. I still think he's trying to bury the GOP for their dismissal of him in past elections.

There will be blood...and not just at these rallies.
He looks forward to it. What a sense of power he must be feeling. He will never be satisfied until he can start a war.

His supporters are told they have nothing to lose, they will not be at fault, they will be defended by him, he "promises". They now have carte blanche to hit, how soon will they maim and kill. Will it take murder at one of these rallies to wake people up?

These rallies are like watching Old Western movie bar fights. One man punches another and suddenly everything it fighting everybody else.

At one point, one of the men can be overheard on the microphone telling Trump, "We are going to wrap up."
Trump, who was visibly sweating throughout the event, appeared rattled by the encounter.
"Thanks for the warning!" he said to supporters as he tried to restart his speech. " "I was ready for him, but it's much easier if the cops do it, right?"

A spokeswoman for Donald Trump says a man tried to breach the security buffer at his event in Ohio, leading U.S. Secret Service agents to briefly rush the stage to surround the Republican presidential candidate.
Spokeswoman Hope Hicks says the man "was removed rapidly and professionally."
Thomas Dimassimo, 32, of Fairborn, was arrested at the rally on suspicion of disorderly conduct and inducing panic, Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer confirmed to the Dayton Daily.
The incident was just one of several interruptions to the event. Just moments earlier, Trump told another person being escorted out on the opposite side of the room to "Go back home to mommy."
